Monday DIY - the simplest, cutest idea ever.

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend? If you're looking for a simple way to update your home this week or even just something creative to do, how about this incredibly simple yet cool textile / wallpaper project? It's the brainchild of Frk Hansen who was inspired by Ferm Living's beautiful half-moon wallpaper. Frk Hansen used a fabric marker, textile paint, and a potato to create the monochrome design. Yes, a potato! I'm on it!

Pretty cool project don't you think? You could always swap the half moons for hearts like in the image below (or buy very cute heart stickers from Ferm Living).

And while we're on the subject of children's rooms (although even as an adult I could definitely have those half-moons and hearts on my wall, couldn't you?!), I'm extremely excited to introduce my new sponsor Babyssimo who sells the most cute children's things ever. Cue gorgeous baby pyjamas, accessories (mittens with faces anyone?!), and measuring giraffes. Oh and there's their Tocoto Vintage range too....*sigh* can one of my friends have a baby soon please so I can get shopping?

Have a lovely Monday!

An apartment in Stockholm with a happy glow

It's Friday - woohooo! Up to anything great this weekend? I think I'll be doing a lot of lazing around with my family in the last of the summer sun and enjoying long breakfasts like the one seen in these inspiring images. It's amazing what a difference pops of yellow do to a space, the colour instantly adds warmth and happiness. I love the way it's used as an accent against the soft pastels and greys too.

This home makes me feel happy, how about you?

If you feel like seeing more work from Fantastic Frank check out the homes here and here. And if it's a spot of of yellow you're after, there's a whole host of homes using a pop of yellow here!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend full of long breakfasts and little rays of sunshine!

See you Monday!

A lovely Gothenburg apartment

Morning! Nearly the weekend - yay! It's starting to become a tradition for me to show the latest apartments for sale in Gothernburg - simply because they give us so much inspiration! This apartment staged and on the market through Stadshem is no exception with it's picture walls and moodboards, monochrome with accent colour scheme, open wardrobe and fab Danish furniture. Let's take a peek.....

Stadshem

There's a whole load of Hay love in this apartment with the Strap MirrorDLM (Son't Leave Me!) Side table, About a Lounge Chair in the sitting room, and the About a Chair Swivel in the kitchen. And we're pretty sure that's the Normann Copenhagen Block Side Table in light grey. It's fab Danish design all round!

Any ideas you'd like to steal from this home?

Beautiful A/W collection from By Nord

Danish brand By Nord not only sells fabulous products they take the most beautiful lifestyle images too. This inspiration is from the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection and reflects how the brand is inspired by the diversity of the raw yet beautiful Nordic nature where the rough meets the smooth.

By Nord

How happy would my little girls be (who have just recently started to learn to ride) with the horse bedding? And how happy would their Mummy be with that sitting room (or in fact, anything from the By Nord collection?!

See previous By Nord inspiration images here as well as the fantastic home of By Nord owner Hanne Berzant here. Oh so fabulous.

Are you a By Nord fan?

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Tant Johanna's beautiful Stockholm apartment

You may remember this Gothenburg apartment back in the spring? It was the former home of Johanna of Lovely Life/Tant Johanna blog fame. Johanna and her boyfriend sold up and moved to Stockholm. This home is actually only 43 metres square. Johanna's top tips for decorating a small space are to use storage to 'swallow up' items, and make use of every single square metre, for example, they also use the hallway as a home office space. Mirrors have been used to bounce light around the apartment and create the feeling of space. The result is a lovely, light, living space which oozes personality and charm.

Tant Johanna

Johanna and her boyfriend are now on the move again back to Gothenburg. They live by the same motto as I do - 'just go, and if it doesn't work out you can always move back again!'.

And the good news for us? Johanna will be renovating a new apartment. Follow the developments here!

PS For more inspiration on decorating small spaces check out this, this and this apartment. Amazing what you can do with limited space.

PPS Have you made any big moves in your life? If so, how did it go?
