The snow arrived in Sweden yesterday and oh, how I scoured the web for a snow cottage to share with you today. But alas, it’s been a cazry week and an equally crazy day, and I’ve completely run out of time. And now, with it being 5pm on a Friday night — and our own getaway beckoning this weekend (we really need to hit the road soon; with all the ice, it’s getting more and more treacherous after dark!) — I thought I’d share a throwback to five beautiful, extra-toasty Scandinavian cottages and cabins in the snow with you instead.
I hope they put you in a cosy, wintery mood!
1. Hanna's Finnish country home in the snow at Christmas
How wonderful! Is there anything better than a log cabin in the snow with a roaring fire, a ton of books, and a stack of games?
Speaking of which, it’s time for us to head down to Ystad! I hope you have a wonderful weekend — and stay warm if it’s as cold where you are as it is here.
I’m looking forward to getting started with some more Christmassy posts next week… it’s time!

Thank you, Niki! There are one or two I haven't seen. Always good to hear from you! Have a wonderful trip and stay safe.
ReplyDeleteooooo, happy you discovered a few new ones. They are all so cosy!
DeleteWhat a joy to see the snow and cosy cottages. I admit I prefer to be in warmer climes but I appreciate the pleasure of a snowy environment. I can see a sprinkling of snow on the Alpes, shining in the Sun, that’s as near as I get. Thank you, a treat.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's much better to be looking out at the snow from the cosy and warmth of the indoors (or from a distance) - unless skiing is involved or it's a bright sunny day, and then I'm all in!
DeleteI will be looking at each winter home several times during the weekend! Each one cozier than the last! I enjoyed this tour. No worries about being so busy....sometimes life is just like that!! I always appreciate what you share. Thank you!!!!! : > )
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed all the tours :)
DeleteSafe travels. I hate driving on icy roads. But I love snow, and all of these homes are soooo cozy!!
ReplyDeleteI agree, I find it a little scary - unless there is a Scandinavian at the wheel!
DeleteHere’s a cozy thought: There's nothing quite like snuggling up in a log cabin surrounded by snow, a warm fire crackling, and a stack of books waiting to be read.
ReplyDeletePerfect scenario!
DeleteI love the combination of weathered grey logs with the red window trim on the cabin next to a frozen lake. And in two other photos, seeing the delicately colored sky so typical of short winter days when the sun is low on the horizon in the nordic countries. Thank you Niki for my snow fix. Pirjo
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these observations - the light can be so beautiful in winter here.
DeleteAll so lovely.
