Traditional meets modern in France

A rare weekend post but I simply couldn't resist sharing this absolutely beautiful home in Sante-Marie-de-Ré, featured in the equally beautiful and inspiring interior magazine; Marie Claire Maison. It's the home of painter Catherine Le Van and her husband, both of whom are passionate about design.  I love the perfect marriage of traditional and contemporary items.

  7. LOVE love love the bedroom with that wall of storage, oh my god. You could easily do something similar with kitchen cabinets from IKEA, think of all the added storage it would give you, though it might be a fun memory test to find your clothes in the morning, haha. I definitely see why you posted on a weekend, this house is worth it! Stunning.
You know that cartoon noise of an iron weight dropping to the ground when a cartoon character's jaw drops? Like, DONG? That's totally what your posts make me do :)
