Beautiful linen in a dreamy Norwegian home

Linen. Oh how I love linen. Especially the natural stone washed variety seen in so many homes right now. Whether draped over the sofa, on a headboard, a table or of course on the bed, it immediately softens the look of a room and adds a wistful, romantic touch. Take these dreamy inspiration images created by linen merchants Hale Mercantile Co created in collaboration with Vintage Piken - who's cosy Norwegian home I once also featured here). They make me want to cover my entire home in soft linen - how about you?!

Hale Mercantile Co found via Vintage Piken with thanks

Oh so lovely, don't you think?

All the linen is available at Hale Mercantile Co.

And if you have time today, definitely pour yourself a glass of something cool and take a browse through the vintage piken blog - I love how on the 'about' page it says: 'words are scarce on this blog - please enjoy the silence.' We will, oh we will

More Norwegian homes here.

Have a lovely, *peaceful* day!

PS this is not a sponsored post - I just thought the images were too lovely not to share!

Your Swedish island retreat?!

Hello there! Every now and again a little pearl comes up on the Swedish estate agency market (even though in this instance you could say it's a slightly larger pearl).  Situated in Southern Gotland, an island off the east coast of Sweden, the 18th century house has been renovated in keeping with the beauty and natural wilderness of the island using materials such as wood, stone and natural linen. Oh and did I mention the sea view? Are you ready to be 'herrskapet' of a Gotland manor (at the weekends at least....)...?

Fantastic Frank

My favourite room has to be the master bedroom - so simple yet so beautiful.

How about you?

There aren't so many items to pick out from this home (it's waiting for you to put your signature stamp on it!). But to get started - you can source beautiful bed linen and throws in beige, charcoal and white here, I love this vintage bamboo screen and why not throw in a cosy Gotland sheepskin?

You know what's coming don't you? Yup - all my favourite homes on Gotland (and there are so many!) - definitely check out this idyllic swedish island holiday home, a charming, pared-back holiday home, a small island hide-away, and the boho summer home of a fashion photographer.

Have a lovely day!

A Gothenburg home filled with treasures

You may remember the beautiful Artilleriet studio which I featured last week? Well, as part of interior store Artilleriet's 5 year anniversary, owners Christian and Björn have opened the doors of their Gothenburg home to Residence magazine. The delightful space has been doing the blog rounds over the last few days and I can totally understand why - it's simply stunning. The walls have been painted in earthy greys and greens and every surface is bursting with treasured finds and designer pieces. Large windows and free-standing mirrors flood the space with light creating a soft mood, which has been beautifully captured by photographer Kristofer Johnson. Let's take a tour...

Styling: Lotta Agaton / Photography: Kristofer Johnsson (shared with kind permission). Residence magazine

So beautiful! It reminds me a lot of the works of Danish painter - Hammershoi.

Check out Artillieriet online store for many of the items you see in Christian and Björn's home.

Other stunning homes captured by Kristofer Johnsson include this Stockholm pad with fab windows and touches of navy,  a sophisticated Swedish home in dark shades and a stockholm space with a mix of vintage and designer pieces. Can you spot the signature style?

And some link loving from around the web:

Check out this magical treehouse with a hot tub and skateboard ramp - *dreaming*

A charming industrial kitchen.

Plant styling that's so now.

A shower curtain that brings greenery indoors (or if you're lucky - a bath with a view).

Have a great day!

A lovely Danish apartment in neutrals

Sorry for the late post today. It's Swedish national day and we've been out for a few days on the island of Ven among other spots in the Öresund. I was planning on posting this morning but my computer decided it was going to indulge in a little 'maniana' lifestyle of its own! So there wasn't much I could do other than enjoy the sunshine and swimming (this is my girls in the sea at 9pm last night!) - not such a tough choice after all! So here I am, back at my desk (more sun kissed than before, but ready to go!). I thought I'd start the week with a Danish apartment in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen designed by the talented Karen Maj Kornum of Another Ballroom. I love the milky, soft tones paired with flashes of orange, red and golden yellow. Shall we take a peek?

The floorboards, high ceilings and period features are just lovely - and so typical of buildings from that part of town.

If you'd like a similar look - Another Ballroom stocks many of the items you see. You can also try these places: beni ourain rug, boucherouite rug, wishbone chair, By lassen candleholder, leather camping stool.

I promise to be back tomorrow at the usual time with a very exciting home tour! Until then, have a great start to the week!

My new backpack

You know when you get something new and you can't imagine how you managed without it? That's how I feel about my new waxed canvas backpack. Truth be known, if Dorayaky hadn't contacted me about sponsoring My Scandinavian Home I might not have discovered it, which is why I thought I'd better share this beauty with you too! The backpack is made to order and has two perfectly sized inside pockets for phone, keys etc, and comes in a bunch of colours -  I chose the brown one but I'm loving the black one too....

So lovely, don't you think?

You might want to check out the Emma bag in grey too. Dorayaky ships worldwide from Spain (just saying).

Thank you so much to  Dorayaky for sponsoring my scandinavian home - and sending/gifting me my fab backpack, I'm one lucky girl. #Ilovemyjob

Now all there's left to do is hit the great outdoors.

Have a wonderful weekend!
