Beautiful photography inspiration From Lean Timms

I love taking photos (just ask my family - in their opinion I take way too many!) how about you? I find photography is one of those hobbies where the more you learn about it, the more complicated it becomes!). I think that's why I admire the work of professional photographers so much. One of my favourites is Lean Timms, a freelance shutterbug based in Canberra, Australia. Driven by natural light, unique composition and capturing a sense of a place, her love of 'nature, design, travel and the slower moments in life' shines through in her beautiful travel, food, lifestyle and interior photography. Here's a small selection of some of the incredible photographs featured in her portfolio!

So lovely, don't you think? Beautiful spaces!

You can see more pictures from Lean's portfolio here and prints are available to buy in her shop 'North: a visual affirmation to a Scandinavian love affair'.

By the way -  how inspiring are her pictures of the Faroe Islands (featured in the travel section and on her inspiring instagram feed)? I'd so love to visit - it's top of my places to visit, I really hope I get to go there one day! Have you ever been?

Have a lovely day!

PS This is such an exciting day - my book Lagom: The Swedish Art of Living a Balanced, Happy Life launches in the UK today! Look out for a sneak peek inside later! Thank you for the overwhelming number of pre-orders, you're wonderful! I hope my book inspires you as much as it has me!

Swedish interiors from the portfolio of Sara Landstedt

Morning! Today I thought we could dine out on the fabulous portfolio of Swedish photographer Sara Landstedt. Sara is a self confessed 'happy, laugh-out-loud' person who finds it hard to sit still and absolutely loves her work. Her portfolio is full of inspiring interior pictures which she has taken for magazines and other clients as well as portraits and commercial images in collaboration with stylist Johanna Pilfalk. Here are a few examples of her wonderful interior shots.

Stylist: Johanna Pilfalk. Photographer Sara Landstedt with kind permission. Inspired by a recent post by 79 ideas.

Oh so fabulous don't you think?

I spy....the Muuto Wood Table Lamp, the Copper Kubus4 candleholder from By Lassen, the white Bestlite used as kitchen task lights and Normann Copenhagen Block Side Table (drinks trolley). The Eames RAR rocking chair (15% discount with code MYSCAN). A selection of wooden chopping boards. Copper pen holder/ plant pot which is unfortunately out of stock - as an alternative how about this Tom Dixon copper candle - it's on my birthday wishlist anyway!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

An inspiring interior portfolio

It's Friiiiiday! Yay! Here's a mix of lovely interior images from the portfolio of New York based photographer Emily Johnston Anderson. I often photograph spaces from my home and know just how difficult it is to get lighting right (I never do, but I'm working on it!). I love the way Emily plays with the light and uses items in the foreground to add depth. I have a lot to learn from her photos!

See the rest of Emily's fantastic portfolio here.

Before I head off into the night (oh, OK day - but it is Friday!....here are a few wonderful links from across the web for a little weekend reading:

The new issue of Covet Garden is out - woohoo! Take a look at some fabulous homes from the latest issue here. This is a perfect example of how a home can look lovely even if there are children's toys everywhere. This shop is so cute. I love that you can get an illustration of your little one made by the talented shop owner and she has the most lovely blog too. I recently recieved a lovely deer motif storage sack from SackMania and now I see they have the cutest birdy cushion.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!  I'm heading over the bridge to Copenhagen tonight to celebrate my man's birthday, can't wait! Do you have any fun plans?

Simple yet striking

A distinctly simple yet utterly striking Scandinavian apartment to celebrate the weekend. If you could choose one fabulous designer item from this home, what it would it be?

Photography: Bohman & Sjöstrand Stylist: Johanna Lavén via Solid Frog

With kind permission from Bohman & Sjöstrand and found via lovely blog Solid Frog.

Before I head off, just a little reminder that you only have a couple of days left to make the most of the 10% My Scandinavian Home reader offer from the fab shop Bodie and Fou! - code MSH2012.

Have a really great weekend all!

Interior by a Stockholm based photographer

Evening all! You may have seen these beautiful interior pictures by Stockholm based photographer Sanna Lindberg before, but I just simply can't see enough of this wonderful home. The owners have the most amazing taste, all their furniture is so beautiful and interesting and I love the touches of pastel.

Sanna Lindberg Via Seesaw designs

PS the bedroom colours are also beautiful, not a palette I would normally put together but they work so well. I always think that people who can put the unexpected together are the most talented of all.

Any touches you like in particular?

Check out other beautiful interior shots by Sanna Lindgren here.

The home of a LA photographer

If some one works in the art world you can almost count on the fact that they will have a wonderful home. The home of LA photographer Amy Neusinger is definitely no exception! Mostly white with a romantic touch, Amy has added a spot of industrial to create a truly interesting and beautiful space. Vackert!
