Helloooo friends! I hope you had a great weekend? Here, it's been an eventful one. On Friday evening I had a live radio interview about my new Lagom book. Except I got the time difference muddled up and when they called from Montreal I had a house full of kids. In my panic I ended up whisking them out into the garden in their socks!! You can just imagine the scene). Thankfully it did get a little more relaxing after that! And now Monday morning has rolled around again (I've got a feeling we're all going to rock this week?!). Despite doing my best to embrace the chill outside (I'm wearing my Swedish Shephards as I write) I am starting to wonder how I'm going to get through the impending darkness of autumn / winter. I'm thinking plenty of DIY and crafts? What do you say? If you're thinking the same - Laetitia Delorme of Monochrome DIY, is our girl! Berlin based Laetitia describes her DIY ideas as 'a world away from chichi and sequins - everything revolves around tinkering and self-making'. Think fab minimalist brass mirrors, semi-flower wreaths and decorative ice-cubes. You only need to a snapshot of her home - as well as pictures of the home of Berliner Claudi's (see the full tour of her home here)- to see examples of how her DIY ideas blend beautifully with mid-century finds an abundance of plants. Roll on Autumn!

A calm and elegant Swedish home

Hello! We have a birthday in Da house! My daughter's turns 7 today! And as you might know already, we take birthdays very seriously (after all, everyone deserves a very special day - and you only turn 7 once, right?!). In between pancakes (with blueberries, raspberries and Swedish honey), present opening and bowling (guh! - the things we do to keep our little ones happy!) I found a window to share this very lovely Swedish apartment with you. It immediately struck me as calm, elegant and sophisticated - a great combination! The space has been styled for sale and the images de-saturated somewhat - but you can still pick up on the grey, green, brass and dusty pink hues and there's so much inspiration from the details too! Enjoy!

I love so many things about this home - the duck print (how fabulous is the kitchen in general by the way?!), the pendant over the table (any tips on where this is from?), little brass plant mister, the Platner coffee table and mantis table lamp on the desk (I've got the same one on mine!!) as well as the beautiful brass coat rack (again, tips welcome!). Greenhouse Make Over with The Frame - In Detail

I was so happy to share the greenhouse make-over I worked on with Samsung and interior stylist Emily Henderson with you last week (thank you so much for all your wonderful feedback - feeling the love guys!). Today I'm super happy to share two new films from the Reframe This Space series with you. The first provides a little insight into how Emily and I worked with The Frame, a beautiful TV, designed to fit any space (and make it look extra pretty too!).

When it comes to a greenhouse you're kind of stuck for wall space - which is where the Studio Stand came in (for people like me who love to re-jig their sitting room every few days the Studio Stand is ideal! For those of you who like to keep things firmly in place - you'll be happy to hear it also attaches flush to the wall like a picture, so if you're looking to fit The Frame into a gallery wall the No Gap Wall Mount feature will come in extremely handy!). 

Emily and I also spent a little time looking at the different Customisable Frame options (there's an additional choice of White, Beige Wood and Walnut and they literally snap into place). In the end we opted for the white version to give the space a lovely, sleek, clean look.

And finally, like many Scandinavian homes, the greenhouse draws nature indoors (yes, to ridiculous, swoon-worthy proportions!), so we were keen to find art photography that would blend into the space. A quick scroll through the Samsung Collection (with 100 curated art pieces) and Art Store revealed many fantastic options - I noticed you can upload your own photography but sadly there wasn't time for this (trust me, it was a hectic few days!).

Having decided on transforming the disused greenhouse into a Swedish kolonistuga (a small cottage / cabin on an allotment which is enjoyed throughout the summer months), it was important to channel the Scandinavian design ethos. The look should be clean, calm and fuss-free and yet cosy, warm and inviting - in other words, balance was key!

The space was stripped out and a wood, white washed floor put down and the walls were freshened up with a light grey lick of paint.

Picking the right furniture would be key to creating the look and feel we were after. We were keen to mix old with new - opting for salvage finds, flea-market items, mid-century modern and the odd contemporary piece and selected one stand out piece for each zone (including a wooden credenza, the Danish classic Flag Halyard chair, Tulip table and of course, The Frame). We then populated the space with accessories made from natural textures such as glass, wood and terracotta to bring the space alive.

And finally, layers of textiles in the form of cushions, blankets, rugs and throws gave the space it's soul - and transformed it into a magical summer stay!

The serene home of a Swedish interior stylist

I'm so happy as I've just found myself a little spot outside of home to sit and work each day - yay! No more climbing the walls (although I'll still be at home for photoshoots of course, which I love!). It's quite a cool little place  - I'm sure I'll be sharing snippets of it on Instagram stories, and might even get around to photographing it at some point - watch this space! Meanwhile further North, is this lovely home owned by Denice Lindell. Denice is an interior stylist (as you can probably guess!), co-founder of Styling by D.E.Y, co-owner of interior shop Soluppgangen along with her Mother and sister-in-law and the blogger behind Styling by Denice (yep one busy lady!). The space has been kept deliberately paired-back with subtle shades of grey and greige. Textural accessories such as beaded pendants, clay pots, straw lamps (see more inspiration here), slim rustic wood benches, sheepskins and linen break up the clean lines and add warmth to the look. Enjoy!

Such a beautiful home! I especially love the kitchen and the bedroom (so serene!) -  how about you?

A Swedish home with sand and blush accents

Why hello there! Monday already is it? Guh! Well don't fear, as I have the most beautiful Swedish home tour to share with you! Located in Gothenburg, it's been styled to perfection (ready for sale) - and is filled with inspiring ideas - as well as some of the latest trends including round mirrors and sand, blush, cream and terracotta accents. Enjoy!

I love this space. It's kind of perfect - all that white, the little nooks, the subtle colour palette. I also like how they've used a simple, yet pretty linen curtain to cover the gap behind the bed (source lightweight linen by the metre here).

Anyone else feeling like you could quite happily chill on that daybed all day?!

Get the look: sitting room - safari daybed, knot cushion (would go beautifully with this blush linen cushion!) source a Beni Ourain rug here. dining area - natural stonewashed linen tablecloth, ant chairs, House Doctor swing wall lamp. Bedroom - sand coloured sheet, duvet cover and pillow cases.
