A Swedish home in perfect harmony

Why hello there Monday! Can I just launch straight into the home tour today? Only because I can't wait for you to feel the harmonious vibe from every room in this beautiful Swedish home. The soft serene tones, the cosy blankets, that piano.  This space really is the perfect remedy for anyone having a hectic start to the week! Enjoy!

....isn't this space lovely?!

My favourite thing has to be that piano, how about you? One of my little girls asked if she could start learning to play the other day and as you can imagine I was overly encouraging (you only have to see this Pinterest board to understand why!!)- and then PB informed me that they learn on keyboards these days. Seriously?! Please tell me this is not so?!

Do you have a piano in your home?

A few other items I know and love: kitchen: dough bowl (if that one is sold try here for other beautiful ones) series 7 chairs. sitting room - blanket, linen cushions in muted tones, butterfly chair, karlstad sofa. Office / bedroom: white bentwood chairs, sheepskin throw, lovely heavy weight linen throw in black.

You can see more pics of this serene space over at Stadshem  (it's for sale....yup!).

Have a wonderful start to the week!

Green and pink accents in a relaxed Swedish home

Hello there! It was an early (dark) start this morning and now my train is racing through the snowy SkĂĄne countryside. Luckily I brought a little thermos of coffee with me (feeling superg organised for a change!). I thought I'd end the week with this lovely pad in Gothenburg, Sweden. The light green, and pink accents caught my eye in particular, especially in combination with the cork and vintage wood furnishings.  I also love how the selection of prints and the relaxed vibe. Perfect way to ease in the weekend, don't you think?

A few items to note: kitchen - IKEA sinnerlig table, Thonet chairs, black kitchen aid. sitting room - Z5 cotton lamp, Hay tray table. P.A.P Sweden laptop case. Try The Poster Club  for prints including:Welcome to the city of champions.

Does anyone know where the pink chair is from? If so, I'd be so grateful if you could leave me a note in the comment section below, I've been looking for one just like this!

I'm in the final days of writing my second book which is very exciting but I have to say, it's been one hectic week! I'm so looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my family (and I'm sure they're looking forward to a relaxed me!). I hope you've got some great plans lined up or simply looking forward to taking it easy too?

Have a wonderful couple of days and see you Monday!

A cosy Swedish home ready for Christmas

Hello there! We woke up to snow yesterday and today it's sparkling in the sun, such a beautiful sight, but it's coooooold! Brrrrrrr! The knits are out and snow boots firmly in place. At home there's only one way to go at this time of year: sheepskins and candlelight. And Sandra Nilsson's cosy Swedish home beautifully captured by Carina Olander has that 'hygge' feel down to a fine art. Natural materials such as linen, wool, and wood bask in the warm glow of flickering candlelight. Look out for the simple fir and moss displays and of course the Christmas tree. What's not to love?!

So toasty! And so many inspiring details. Yes, it's perhaps a little too early for a Christmas tree but not for candlelight, subtle fir wreaths and textured moss displays.

I'll be taking inspiration from these DIY ideas.

And there's plenty more, beautifully simple inspiration to be taken from my Christmas board.

.....This will be us this weekend!!

Get the look: sitting room - chunky knits, white stonewashed linen by the yard, grey sheepskin cushion and linen cushions. Hallway / storage area - source a beautiful vintage mirror here (love the art deco ones!), galvanised buckets. These tall, traditional candleholders are lovely. Vintage apple crates. Dining room - grey gotland sheepskin throws, grey and white linen tablecloth.

You can see more of Sandra's lovely home over on Instagram or blog Vintage House. Oh so lovely!

How will you be decorating your home this season?

Have a lovely day and stay warm fellow Northerners!

Reader offer: 15% discount on an Abbott & Mosley timepiece

You might remember a post a few months back featuring Abbott & Mosley, makers of uniquely crafted timepieces. These watches have a special place in my heart as they're made from Italian marble, which makes every single piece unique. And now the wonderful team has introduced a set of the same timepieces, in a sleeker, slimmed down size! Since I have small wrists I was super excited and picked up this little number (there's nothing wrong with an early Christmas present to yourself is there? After all I've been a very good girl!).  And now you can too as Abbott & Mosley are offering 15% discount to celebrate the new launch! You'd better hurry though, the offer only lasts one week (see below for details). Oh, and here's my new watch in action...

To redeem your discount simply type in the code 'myhome15' at check-out. The promotional code is valid until 16th November. Abbott & Mosley ship free worldwide.

I hope you like it as much as I like mine!

Have a lovely evening!

This post was brought to you in collaboration with Abbott & Mosley. However, all words are my own and I only ever work with brands which I love and think you will too. Thank you for supporting the brands which make My Scandinavian Home possible.

If so, why not pour yourself a freshly brewed coffee and follow me, I've got a  beautiful apartment in Vasastan, Stockholm to show you!
