A dreamy home in Puglia

A few years ago we were invited to a wedding in Puglia, in the heel of Italy. I was totally mesmerised by the area and I can still taste the olives and deliciously sun ripened tomatoes and aubergines today. Puglia is also known for its 'trullis' - pretty dry stone huts with a conical shaped roof. Seeing this beautiful holiday home from the region, captured by Frederic Vasseur, immediately transported me back to our wonderful holiday. I love the cool outdoor space, relaxed open storage, beautiful patterned tiles and floaty textiles. How much would you like to be in this villa right now?!

Frederic Vasseur shared with kind permission. Found via The Style Files with thanks.

The white linen in the outdoor space not only keeps the covered area shaded but also creates a dreamy feel.

I also love the idea of having curtains around a bed - it really does create a sanctuary. I've been toying with this in my own bedroom - do you think it would work?

More beautiful Italian spaces include this converted mill, a designer's studio, rustic inspiration from the portfolio of wonderful portfolio of Claudio Tajoli and I'd love to visit this restauarant in Lazio with an olive tree at the centre!

Viva I'italia!

By the way, it's so GREAT to see so many comments lately - I love reading them and have always felt they are an extremely important part of My Scandinavian Home - thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts, observations, and tips.

Have a lovely day!

A wonderfully relaxed, boho Skåne home

It's a beautiful day here in Southern Sweden so I'm planning on hopping on my bike shortly and going for a cycle along the coast (it's hard to believe that in a few months time the sea could be iced over - eeeek!). Since I'm in love with this part of the world today, I thought I'd take us all on a tour of a beautiful Skåne home. The wonderful family home of Malin Persson has been featured here before, but it's looking a little different right now having been peppered with beautiful Moroccan / bohemian finds for a truly relaxed vibe. Let's take a tour....

Homeowner / styling: Malin Persson, Photography: Lina Roos found via My World Apart with thanks.

So beautiful - LOVE that freestanding bath!

A friend and I have been talking about a girls trip to Marrakesh for I don't know how long...having seen Malin's home I think it's time to put it into action - what do you think? Have you been?

For similar items: Moroccan pom pom blanket (love this!),  kilim pillows / cushions,  vintage Beni Ourain rug.

More homes with a wonderful boho touch include one my favourite Swedish homes of all time here, and all of these lovely spaces. Love, love LOVE!

Right, time to hop on that bike of mine and make the most of the late summer sun....

Have a lovely day!

An artist's studio and home in Stockholm

Hello! Hope you had a wonderful weekend? It was one of those rare late summer weekends here where the sky is deep blue and the air crisp - so we headed off into the woods again for a picnic with friends. I hope you managed to switch off, if only for a few hours, too?! I'm feeling kind of creative this morning which is why I fell for this studio in Kungsholmen, Stockholm full of vintage and antique finds. Beautiful glass dividers separate the sleeping quarter from the artists studio and dining area. The 'But first coffee' print perfectly fits the mood for the start of the week, don't you think?!

Fantastic Frank

What a charming space, don't you think?! I'm not sure how the owners can be bear to part with it, but it's for sale through Fantastic Frank - Stockholm bolthole anyone?

I really love the industrial window divider - if you have an open plan space and thinking of dividing in two but don't want to lose the flow of light these are perfect  - you can even install them yourself- check out this DIY post!

I'm not sure where the 'But first coffee' print is from, perhaps it's by the artist him/herself? (tips welcome!) however, you could always create your own here.

More arty / creative spaces include this fantastic Italian designer's studio, a Swedish artist's home in a converted school, and a boho maker's space on Sweden's west coast.

Have a great start to the week!

My home: new Mapiful print

I love to be surrounded by meaningful prints (you only have to see the gallery in our sitting room). That's why I got totally over excited about Mapiful - a website allowing you to create your own map print featuring anywhere in the world. I tell you, it was difficult to tear me away!  I considered a few places such as the nostalgic London borough I grew up in, and the romantic Swedish west coast village where my Swedish husband and I met. But I finally settled on one of my favourite cities in the world - Copenhagen. The Mapiful print now takes pride of place in our open-plan living space...and serves as a great reminder that the fab danish capital is just a short hop over 'the bridge' or sail across the Öresund, waiting to be explored! Here are a few pics of my map....
