The home of a Danish artist / architect

Hello! I hope you had a lovely weekend? Malmö was en fete with the Eurovision Song contest and the sun came out just for the occasion, all in all such a fab weekend! And a huge well done to the winners, Denmark! To celebrate, it had to be a Danish home for today's post! This is the home of Danish artist and architect Anne Boysen. The home reflects her design philosophy: to surpise and at the same time cultivate simplicity. For examples of her work check out Anne's wonderful shop!

I spy so many Scandinavian desginer pieces! The Uten silo, Eames House Bird the Eames DAW armchairs in black (all 15% off with code MYSCAN), the Kubus candlestick from By Larsen, , Hay bedding, Eames AJ floor lamp, Verpan VP Globe Suspension light, and the Series 7 chair.

There are lots of DIY ideas here too. I love the plywood shelving under the TV, it reminds me of the Muuto stacked shelving system, a weekend project perhaps?

Fun lights and pretty wallpaper in a Swedish apartment

Hello Friday! Woohooo! It's been a long old week so I'm really looking forward to a couple of days off, how about you? This apartment bears the signature trademark stamp of a Stadshem styled apartment - pretty Svenskt Tenn VÃ¥rklockor wallpaper in the bedroom. It's also the home to  many cool little vintage pieces and two fab lamps: the Midsummer light and The Voliere pendant lamp by Matthieu Challieres.

Do you have a favourite light?

I've added the food cupboard for all you home-sick Swedes living abroad - Havre Gryn, Vete Mjol, Honung....

So, Friday people! Any great plans? I'll be taking it very easy. Usually I'm not a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest (such a spoil sport!) but since it's here in Malmö I might have to tune in tomorrow evening (come on United Kingdom! You can get more than 'nil point' I know you can!). And Sweden....I'll be holding a little torch for you too.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

A cute Finnish children's bedroom

Hello! Just a super quick note from me today. But how cute is this Finnish children's bedroom from fab blog Varpunen? I love all the adorable cushions, I recognise the house one from Danish brand Lucky Boy Sunday. I also love the Elihu the Elephant clock. What a super cute, cosy and fun room!

Do you know where any of the other cushions are from? I love the snail one!

Could you imagine this style for your (future?) little ones bedroom?

A wonderful white Norwegian loft space

Hello! How are you today, on this 'Lilla Lördag'? I have a beautiful Norwegian apartment to share today. Situated in Grünerløkka, it's fairly small (61 m2) but because of the white, open plan space it looks a lot more spacious. For me, it has everything my (interior) heart desires a few Scandinavian designer pieces, wood beams, a fireplace and a walk in wardrobe, all I would need to add is my family!

Finn.no via Do you fancy this
What do you think? Anything that stands out to you? The jury's still out on open wardrobes. On Facebook I asked the question 'open clothes rail do or don't?' and a lot of people said a 'don't' since they look too cluttered. What are your thoughts?

A little exciting news - do you remember the give-away to win an industrial pendant light I held a few weeks ago (now closed)? I am really excited to announce that ML-Design are now a sponsor so for those of you who missed out, you can buy the beautiful, environmentally friendly pendant light in all colours here.

And finally, if you're on the hunt for some cool new wallpaper you might want to check out this new Scandinavian inspired wallpaper.

Hope you all have a lovely day!

A pretty Swedish summer cottage

I when I am not dreaming about escaping to Brazil (see yesterday's post!) I dream about buying and renovating a summer cottage and then spending my weekends and holidays there with my family (just like the beautiful cottage Minna is doing up in Finland). This Swedish summer cottage is a perfect example of how I imagine it to look! It veers a little from the usual homes I show here on MSH but it's a lovely example of a traditional cottage complete with bed nook!

Could you imagine spending your summers here? What does your (imaginary?) weekend retreat look like?

Monday morning Brazilian escape

It's Monday morning. A girls allowed to dream. If I'd woken up in Casa Lola, Trancoso, Brazil this morning my day would have started a whole lot differently. No full cup of coffee falling three flights of stairs (imagine the scene), no two year old insisting on a swiming costume for nursery. Just one harmonius happy family. 'Accommodations include a housekeeper'....'cooking available on request'. Guh! Make that a latte by the pool please.... :) I feel better already.

I love the seemlessness between the outdoor and indoor spaces, the juxtaposition of the wood and concrete, the vintage furniture, and the outdoor shower (I can't quite justify one here in our garden in Sweden!). Transport me there!

What about you?

I hope you're having a lovely Monday, if not, come away with me!

Whites and greys in a Swedish apartment

I woke up this morning to a thunderstorm. I love thunderstorms as long as I'm tucked up all cosy indoors. I once sat playing cards with with my family in a summer cottage while a thunderstorm raged outside and it was so cosy! What are your thoughts on thunder and lightening - exciting or frightening?! Do you have any happy memories from one? I hope the weather gets better though as it's actually a four day holiday here in Sweden so we're off for the weekend soon - yoohoo! Before I head off I wanted to leave you with this little gem of an apartment in Gothenburg which has been styled by Alvhem. It's so beautifully arranged and home to so many lovely pieces.

I absolutely love the Flos 365 wall light. I was keen to have it in my sitting room and then I saw it in real life and realised it's actually really big! Perfect if you have a lot of wall space and looking to make a bold statement.

I also love the clothes rail. I've been thinking about buying one from Annaleena's shop for our guest bedroom. She has a lovely blog too.

Anything that catches your eye?

So guys, lots to do before I head off - hurry hurry hurry! I hope you all have a fab weekend and I'll see you Monday!

A beautifully designed Malmö apartment

Every now and again a home goes on the market which makes me want to move home (or at least use that as an excuse to go to the viewing!). Currently that home is one designed by interior stylist Emma Persson Lagerberg, in Gamla stan (the old district) of Malmö.

So many cool rooms and pieces - personally I love the bathroom - there's something extremely luxurious about large bathrooms! What about you?

I spy soooo many fab designer pieces: The Louis Poulsen PH5, Tom Dixon Bronze Copper Shade pendent and the Muuto Unfold pendant lights. Vintage Eames side chairs DSW in the kitchen - try Lovely & Company for vintage fibreglass ones or for new plastic ones: Designcollectors where you can also find the Vitra DCM chair in black (15% off with code MYSCAN).

I wonder how the owners can leave this home?
PS Thank you so much for all your lovely comments about my 'spring' dining space yesterday, you made my day!
