A Scandi-Inspired Home in The Czech Republic In Soothing Neutrals

Why, hello there, how are you today? I'm feeling a little bleary eyed. I think it's because my husband was away last night - and I always seem to sleep with one eye open when he's away, like I'm on night watch or something! Do you do the same?! Maybe I need a guard cat, one like Lucie's beautiful Ragdoll perhaps (seen keeping a watchful eye over the street above). Isn't he a handsome boy?! He looks right at home in this beautiful apartment North of Bohemia, in the Czech Republic. Mind you, who wouldn't?! Owner Lucie curates the inspiring blog The Aesthetic Eye / @the.aesthetic.eye through which she shares regular snapshots of her pared-back living space which has been decorated in a soothing palette of ivory, beige and chestnut. She also has a keen eye for Scandi pieces (I spy Ljungby vases, a Kristina Dam table and Hay x IKEA wall shelf to name but a few!). A girl after our own heart! Enjoy the tour!

Ypperlig wall shelf (IKEA x HAY) - I tried to find this online but it seems to be out of stock / removed from the collection, can anyone advise?

Did you spot her cat taking a snooze? It took me several goes before I saw him!

Lucie tells me he's a little lazy, but looking at these pictures I reckon he's just super relaxed, who wouldn't be in this space?!

Is there anything that stood out to you?

Believe it or not, this is the first home from the Czech Republic I've ever featured on My Scandinavian Home, but I have a feeling it won't be the last! I am proud to announce however, that my Lagom book is available in Czech! See more language versions here.

For more soothing spaces today I can totally recommend taking a peek at a Norwegian house by a fjord, a serene japandi style home in West Norway and a beautiful airbnb rental in Bergen.

Sending Zen vibes your way!

Have a lovely day!

A Charming and Relaxed Swedish Summer Cabin By The Sea

Do you have a 'happy summer' place? On a warm summer's day there's nowhere I'd rather be than by the sea in Sweden. One of Sweden's most popular holiday destinations is the laidback island of Gotland. Located in the Baltic, the sea might be a few degrees chillier than Sweden's West coast, but what the island lacks in water temperature, it more than makes up for in stunning scenery, creative vibes and a friendly summer community! This charming, laidback cabin perfectly captures the relaxed and pared-back nature of the island. Complete with sea views, a sauna, outdoor shower and many, many hammocks - it has everything you might need to kick back and enjoy everything the island has to offer. The only problem is, it might be hard to leave once the summer comes to an end. Oh and did I mention it's on the market?!

Could you imagine wiling away your summers here?

If only I could rustle up some spare cash - this cabin is my absolute dream! Maybe we can all go in together?!

It's actually not situated far from Fabriken Furillen (featured in 20 instagrammable places to stay in Sweden) - so even if you're not quite ready to splash out on a Swedish summer cabin yet (as tempting as it might be), you might still like to experience a slice of Gotland summer life!

Roll on summer!
