Striking monochrome in a Gothenburg home

Hello! The week has been very mixed hasn't it? An inspiring work studio in the US, a Scandinavian style apartment in Mexico and a calm Stockholm home. Have you had a favourite? I thought I'd finish the week (see below) with a beautiful space in Sweden's second largest city - Gothenburg. The guys at Entrance have worked their magic once again and created this fab monochrome space which is now for sale. (I know!) I think my favourite touch is the black stairs. Is there anything that stands out to you (the chair on the wall perhaps?!).

A harmonious Swedish space

This is one beautiful home. The soft colours, the light, the sea and landscape photography, the relaxed feel. Everything about this 1930's functionalist Stockholm home is just so harmonious. It belongs to Karolina Borg, stylist and founder of Swedish online magazine The Way We Play, her husband and two little boys. This space has brought a sense of calm to my mid week, I hope it has to yours too?!

I've always loved the sea. It could be because I come from a family of sailors and spent much of my childhood on a boat off the south coast of England. One day I'd like to live in a cottage like this one by the sea  and not far from here. I find it so therapeutic to watch the changing scenery. In I've ordered this beautiful seascape from Kara Rosenlund for my wall.  Max Wanger (as seen in this home) and Jarrod Corbet also sell some beautiful shots of the ocean.

The fab light-filled studio of Camille Styles

Happy Monday! Is there such a thing?! Well yes, if you work in a space like this. Designed by Claire Zinnecker  for Camille Styles, the studio is filled with natural light, pops of bright colours and lush greenery. There's also plenty of meeting / social spaces where I could see myself drinking tea and chatting - I mean, brainstorming- which include a fab sofa, round Tulip table and grey marble kitchen.  I'm sure I'd look forward to my Monday mornings would be if I worked in this studio, how about you?

Is this your kind of work space?

Items I know and love: Eames DSR side chairs, kilim cushions/pillows, rustic wooden stool, Tulip dining table.

A lot of thought has gone into this space. Not only does it look great but everything is designed to stimulate productivity. Take the table -research suggests having items which are curved rather than straight create positive emotions which in turn stimulates creativity. Round tables also encourage people to work together (if ever there was an excuse to invest in a Tulip table).

In turn, research has shown that the presence of greenery can help employees recover from demanding activities, lower stress levels and reduce office pollution levels. Time for a little indoor gardening?!

The stunning Bavarian home of a photographer

You know when homes have a friend's name written all over them? This incredible space found over at Vosges Paris  was made for my sister, Cas! She loves vintage pieces (cinema seats, step ladders, tables), art photography and industrial lighting.  But the home of German photographer Petra Reger and her family in Kompton, Bavaria is oh so much more too. Petra's home decorating style is part industrial, part vintage, part designer, part rock 'n' roll. Throw in the beautiful bones of the apartment including the original plaster wall in the kitchen and 100 year old parquet flooring and the result is an incredibly striking and unique home fit for a creative. How cool is this space?

A few items I know and love: Designer chairs: Panton, LCW, Knoll Diamond and Series 7 . Choose your own neon light letters here.  Try Etsy for industrial scissor lamps (that's where I found mine), keep an eye on ebay for cinema chairs. An Apple monitor in Petra's workspace. To get the sitting room look try the Zanotta three seater sofa, the Tulip side table is similar and Zettel Z 6 pendant light. Anything I've missed?

A charming and relaxed Dutch home

This lovely home by a canal in Amersfoort, The Netherlands, oozes charm and happiness. The family of four - Irene, her husband and two little girls - designed the living space themselves and centred everything around the home-made dining table where they like to gather. When Irene is not working as an assistant Product Manager she is busy hunting for flee market finds and working on cool DIY projects around her home which are documented on her blog. I love the relaxed, personal  feel of the space. It makes me want to embark on a few DIY projects of my own, how about you?

Anything that stands out to you in particular? 

I really like the kitchen dresser. Irene painted it in several colours before deciding on mint green (try Farrow & Ball Teresa's green or Pale Powder for a similar effect). Other Dutch homes with great examples of hand painted furniture include this and this home).

Shades of grey in a lovely Gothenburg home

Well, hello Wednesday! I hope you're having a great week so far? We're gearing up for a snowy week in Dalarna (famous for the Dala horse) at a friends cottage, I'm sure there'll be some instagram pics on the go! But before then there's still several oh so fab home tours to share this week. Starting with this lovely Gothenburg home decorated in I don't how many shades of grey (but probably not as many as 50 te he!). A touch of natural material (rattan and wooden) has been added to create a warm, relaxed feel. I could make myself at home here, how about you?

A Swedish home in the archipelagos

I'm a big fan of interiors which reflect the surrounding nature. And this one in Tyresö Skogsstad near Tyresö, Sweden is a fine example. The show apartment has been designed to reflect the beautiful Tyresta National Park and archipelago (think boating, cool dips and lazy days on the beach) on it's doorstep.  Line Sandberg has used natural materials such as wood, leather, linen and sheepskins and a warm palette of greens, browns and greys to bring the nature indoors. The mix of old and new furniture also helps to create a cosy, warm feel. It's hard to believe no one lives there, don't you think?

Imagine living in the archipelagos?!

I spy: Normann Bell pendant lamp in sand, Thonet 214 and 209 chairs and soft Linen bedding.
