A beautiful vintage inspired Australian home

Remember this ethereal bedroom with ensuite I showed last Sunday? Well this morning I was really excited to discover the rest of the home. Vintage House Daylesford is a former 1860's miners cottage which has been lovingly restored to highlight the original features of the space and decorated to perfection with the help of the oh so talented Kali Cavanagh. And the good news? It's available to rent!

The ethereal style is not far off Australia based Kara Rosenlund's home (also featured here) and this lovely vintage inspired guest house, don't you think? If ever there's an excuse to go down under.....

Have a lovely day!

A Stockholm apartment with an industrial touch

I absolutely love window room dividers. They are the perfect way to separate living areas without blocking light. And they look cool too! This Stockholm apartment is currently for sale through Per Jansson. I love the industrial / vintage touch and the white walls and floors.

Could you live here? It's styled for sale but if it were mine (and I wish it was) I'd add a few rugs and perhaps a wood burning stove and then it would be perfect!

For more inspiration on window room dividers you might want to take a peek at this, this and this home. So fab!

Have a lovely day!

A Swedish cottage with a beautiful mix

It's Friday! Woohoo! To celebrate here's a truly inspiring cottage in Höganäs here in Skåne. I would love a home like this - it's got the perfect mix of orginal wood beams, whitewashed brick walls, industrial style lamps and furniture and a touch of shabby chic. The white floors on the upper level are the icing on the cake for me!

What do you think?

If you're ever in Southern Sweden, Höganäs in well worth a stop thanks to it's fantastic design shops - Lily & Oscar and Magasin 36 (which also does the best brunch ever!).

Have a wonderful weekend!

PS If you understand German and fancy a little read about design bloggers and their homes check out this article.....they've included my portrait picture and a few snaps of my home in the gallery too!!

Old meets new in a Stockholm home

It's all happening in Södermalm, Stockholm this week. So if you're looking for somewhere to live, this area of Sweden's capital city's got the place! Following Tuesday's all white affair, this beautiful apartment (which I found via one of my blog favourites, La Maison D'Anna G) has a lovely relaxed old meets new feel with a touch of industrial / shabby.

So which style is more you - the fresh white or the relaxed old meets new?

Me? I'm definitely for a little mix of old and new, I love an old floor with history like the ones they sell at The Reclaimed Flooring Co and antique / vintage pieces which tell a story. Plus if you're a bit messy (like I am) it this tyle is much more forgiving!
PS Just a quick question before I leave, does your man / girl understand your love of Pinterest? My guy is finding it hard to grasp the context, or actually I think he gets it but doesn't actually get why. Oh how he's missing out!

White industrial style loft in Barcelona

In February I'm off to one of my favourite cities: the wonderful Barcelona!  I wish I was staying in this modern industrial style apartment, originally a textile workshop. Designing an open plan living space can be so challenging but these guys seemed to have planned it to perfection and just look at the 'bones' they had to play with. *sigh* if only.....

The large light filled rooms are so fantastic. I'm telling you, if I owned this apartment I'd cycle the bicycle (by the door) around it all day just because I could!

What do you think of modern industrial style homes and open plan living?

Any fab design tips for Barcelona?

Wishing you all a lovely day!

If you're going to Helsinki....

On my list of places to go in 2013 is Helsinki, Finland. I absolutely love Finnish design and Helsinki is teeming with fantastic design shops and museums.

The Finnish Design Shop 'pop-up' shop in Helsinki which I think is now closed. But keep an eye out on their website for more pop up shops!

Have you been to Helsinki? (Or are you lucky enough to come from Helsinki?) Perhaps you can give me some tips?!

Which city do you have top of your list for 2013?

Have yourselves a very merry Wednesday all and I'll see you tomorrow!
