A lovely Swedish home full of flea market finds

The beauty of the Internet is that you can take a peek inside homes from all round the world without even leaving your coffee spot! Yesterday we were just outside Sydney taking a wander around a beautiful Australian beach house in dreamy seaside blues and today we're taking a tour of an eclectic home in Svedala, just outside Malmö, Sweden! Home to Anja, the blogger behind 'En Klick Smör' and her family, the ethos is very much about 'slow-living'. Kitchen worktops are bursting with homegrown or locally sourced produce and the entire house has been furnished with a delightful mix of flea market finds. The result is a personal home where family happiness and health comes first.

Such a charming home, don't you think? I love the mix of floors (white, black and chequered) and the pretty wallpaper in the hallway.

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Get the look from Anja's home: kitchen - handmade Finnish shingle basket, source a similar vintage industrial pendant here. Dining room - pick up a vintage Bumling pendant light here. Sitting room / bedroom - Pillow me sells a beautiful range of Kilim cushions and pillows. Test Farrow & Ball's range of blues for a similar wall colour.

Going back to that chequered floor. Remember the one in this Swedish home on an island too? Oh so lovely. I'd love to create my own one day - how about you?

Have a lovely day!

A striking & relaxed family home in Malmö, Sweden

I'm sitting on the late afternoon train with my coffee, looking out over the Skåne farmlands and thinking back to a lovely day earlier on the summer when I visited Verket, a communal workspace here in Malmö. The industrial style studio is in a converted boxing ring and has magnificent tiled floors and an open plan room. One of the talented people I met was interior designer Helen Sturesson. Helen lives in the centre of town with her husband Kristoffer and two children, Unni and Tage. She has recently moved but I was excited to discover some beautiful pictures of her old home captured by Bodil Johansson (also at Verket).  The magnificent, turn of the century architecture including high ceilings, large windows, columns and pilasters contrasts with the wonderful mix of modern and vintage finds giving the entire space a personal and relaxed vibe. Enjoy!

What an amazing home! Could you imagine living in a space like this? I love the way Helen and Kristoffer have turned it into such a warm and relaxed, family home.

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Get the look: sitting room - sofa, white armchair and rug are from IKEA. The large illustration over the piano is by Annika Carlsson. Bedroom - source a vintage decorators ladder here (I like this one!), throw on bed from Afroart. Kitchen: this glass cabinet is similar. Unnis room: Black string lights, pick up a children's vintage wicker chair here, pirum parum poster.

See Helen's latest work and snapshots of her new home over on Instagram

I also love this relaxed family home in Malmö and the serene home of a Swedish singer also in Sweden's third largest city.

If you're visiting - here's my Malmö City Guide....välkommen!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

PS So excited to be offering you the chance to win a vintage Beni Ourain rug over on instagram here this weekend courtesy of Maroc Tribal!

A quirky Dutch home with fab colours (and lots of art)

While looking for new hallway storage ideas (squirrelled away here), I stumbled across an old favourite (see the entrance way below) - what's not to love about the pink wall, copper pipe and illustrations?! After a little research (including an e-mail to the photographer Hans Mossel) I was excited to discover the entire home and had to share it with you. Situated in Holland, the space is full of fab colours, art, and quirky treasures. What a fascinating home...

Incredible - I've looked through these images several times and every time I spot something new! How about you? I'm so looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

Similar paint colours include Ground pink, Arsenic and Down Pipe.

More wonderful Dutch homes here (scroll passed the first one as it will be this home).

I'm on my way to Copenhagen for a few meetings, I hope I'll have time to pop into a few of my favourite shops...and squeeze in a lunch date too. Today is going to be a good day, I can feel it!

I hope you have some great plans too?

One more thing - I love this sneak peek inside Tine's modernist bungalow in Belgium. Many of the items you see can be found in their shop 'Design Collectors', selling fabulous items by Vitra, Artek and Thonet. Even better news - Design Collectors is offering all My Scandinavian Home readers 15% discount with code MYSCAN. I've got my eye on the tea trolley, 214 chair and the DCW....

Have a lovely day!

A charming boho dairy in the Swedish countryside

Do you ever feel like leading a simpler life in the country? I definitely do, especially when I look at homes like this. Johan and Rinas live in an old dairy outside Falkenberg on Sweden's west coast where they collect freshly laid eggs, forage for chanterelle and make homemade juice. 'Lis Mejeri' has been decorated using 'something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue' - including many things found around the house when they moved in. Johanna Bradford and Kristin Lagerqvist - were lucky enough to visit in person and took these lovely pictures. Let's take a peek...

Johanna Bradford / Kristin Lagerqvist  Lovely Life

This is definitely one to share with my family and say *guys, fancy living like this for a while?*....

Could you imagine living somewhere like this?

See more pics of the dairy here (and on their blog here).

It reminds me a little of the beautiful Strömma Farmlodge. More boho homes not far from Lis Mejeri here.

Have a lovely day!

PS Malmö / Copenhagen friends Emily Katz popped me a note to say she is travelling from Portland, Oregon to Copenhagen to hold a modern macrame workshop this Saturday 5th September.  Thought you wouldn't want to miss it....

A truly inspiring and creative loft space

Iiiiiit's Friday, woohoo! This definitely calls for a wonderfully cheerful home, don't you reckon?  And lucky for us, Cécil Figuette (owner of Bien Fait) has graciously opened the doors of her boho Parisien loft so we can all take a peek inside.  The bones of the former workshop can be seen peeping out from behind a creative mix of designer pieces, antiques, quirky vintage and flea market finds, items collected on travels and large wallpaper murals where bright colours and bold patterns reign supreme.  What a truly unique and imaginative home, perfect inspiration for le weekend....

Wow....those murals are just so great! Love the rugs too (Beldi sells similar).

A friend was thinking about buying this green sofa recently - after seeing the one in this home I'd say go for it! It looks lovely with all the greenery and bold patterned rugs. What do you think?

Is there anything that stands out to you about this home?

Thank you so much to Julie Ansiau (you can also follow her blog here) for the kind permission to share these photos - it's so beautifully captured. If you'd like to share these images further on your blog / Tumblr. etc, please contact Julie for permission first.

Other fabulous eclectic homes include this Norwegian family home, a fun Swedish space and a Scottish home.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!
