A Swedish home in calming green

Hello! Monday? Again? It really has been a case of - Friday *blink* Monday?! The entire weekend has been a bit of a blur except for a wonderful picnic in Rövearekulan national park  - so nice! Did you get up to anything fun? I thought I'd roll the 'green theme' onto to Monday and share this lovely Swedish home with you. The space has been decorated in a mix of calm earthy green tones and crisp white, with natural touches such as cotton, linen, wood and leather adding a warm and inviting feel. Above all else though - I'm looking at all that light (I've become a little obsessed since reading that if you sit next to a window to work you can boost your productivity by up to 15% - so glad I fought for that window sit in the open-plan office I used to work in now! - do you sit by a window?). I'm also eyeing up those beautiful young oak tree saplings.... so simple, yet so lovely!

What a lovely apartment?!

The clothes rail in the bedroom is great (I feel more relaxed in the knowledge that there's a wall-to-wall wardrobe opposite so this is merely for tomorrow's outfit or favourite pieces!). Ferm Living sells one similar here. Loving the light twisted around the end, such a nice touch!

Is there anything that caught your eye?

A few items I know and love: lamp by house doctor, try The Poster Club for similar prints, Lampe gras floor lamp, feather duster.

Have a great start to the week!

An elegant Malmö home in calming green

Tjoho! As you know, I'm very proud of my home city of Malmö (see my city guide here!) and I always feel a flutter of excitement when a beautiful home pops up in da hood! This 1920's apartment is located in Davidhalls Torg - a lovely square in the centre of town fringed with small independent businesses including an antiques shop, vintage clothes boutique, a barbers and a whole host of cafés and restaurants - with tables and chairs spilling out onto the pavement. And high above you'll find this oasis. Painted in soothing white and green, the owners have used glass cabinets to keep everything on display, yet safely hidden away. Wooden furniture adds warmth while soft linen textiles add a beautiful softness to the space which can only be described as a picture of a calm.

For sale through Bjurfors

Ahhhh, so lovely.

The owners have achieved the perfect balance, don't you think?

Did you see it's for sale too? Come and join us!

Get the look from this lovely Malmö apartment: IKEA sells a similar white glass cabinet. Le Sac en papier, This magenta kimono would look pretty against the green wall, white linen table cloth (beautiful!) and pure linen bedding (I love this off-white linen throw / blanket too).

The look and feel of the space reminds me a little of Artilleriet studio and the home of the owners behind the store. Beautiful!

Have a lovely day!

The inspiring Skåne home of a photographer + interior designer

I have a confession to make. We had a bit of a late night on Saturday (always a sign of a good party right?!). It was worth it of course, but it does mean this morning has been ever so slightly tougher than other Monday mornings, and, well, I'm just a little behind! Never fear though, every cloud has a silver lining and that little ray of sunshine comes from the absolutely stunning home of Daniella Witte. Daniella is one of those incredibly talented people who has perfected the art of creating beautiful interiors and takes a mean picture ! Last year she paired up with local stylist Emma Persson Lagerberg to capture her fabulous home which she shares with husband Fredrik and sons Felix and Julius, just up the coast from me here in Skåne. Time to feel very inspired!

You know, I'm actually not sure where to start. The sitting room? The bedroom? The colours? The detail? The terrace?! The whole house is absolutely perfect! But most of all I'd like it to be warm outside so I could pay a visit and spend the day with by the pool!

How about you? Is there anything you love in particular?

A couple of items from Daniella's home: dining area - in between chair by &Tradition, sitting room - butterfly chair. Upstairs sitting room - North sofa (I have the same sofa in my sitting room).

You can keep up to date with all Daniella's projects on her blog and instagram feed

Have a great start to the week!

A lovely laid back flat in Malmö, Sweden

Hello! How was your weekend?! We headed out for a walk and barbecue in the forest on Saturday (one of our favourite ways to wile away a day) and then yesterday I had a photo shoot at my friend Gen's flat (you might recognise her name as I've featured her fab office and kitchen before), it was so much fun! More pics to follow later on in the week. Meanwhile, just round the corner is another cosy apartment which has just gone on the market.  There is something so warm about this space, don't you think? Enjoy!

This apartment is for sale through Bolaget.

I love how relaxed and personal this space feels!

It makes me want to string some lights up and paint a few walls (Farrow & Ball sells similar colours)....and as for that Palm Jungle wallpaper?! Love it!

I also love the vintage kimono- not only does it make a perfect robe, it also adds to the decor too!

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Other items I know and love in this southern Sweden apartment: sitting room / dining area Stockholm sofa in Sandbacka green from IKEA, Eames chairs, string lights, source vintage botanical school posters here (this one from Slovakia is particularly lovely!).   Outdoors - Gotland sheepskin.

Have a wonderful start to the week!

PS Amazingly excited to discover today that Vogue has included me in their list of '10 interior instagrams to follow now' list! It's made my week and it's only just started. Thank you Vogue!

Green and pink accents in a relaxed Swedish home

Hello there! It was an early (dark) start this morning and now my train is racing through the snowy Skåne countryside. Luckily I brought a little thermos of coffee with me (feeling superg organised for a change!). I thought I'd end the week with this lovely pad in Gothenburg, Sweden. The light green, and pink accents caught my eye in particular, especially in combination with the cork and vintage wood furnishings.  I also love how the selection of prints and the relaxed vibe. Perfect way to ease in the weekend, don't you think?

I'm in the final days of writing my second book which is very exciting but I have to say, it's been one hectic week! I'm so looking forward to a relaxing weekend with my family (and I'm sure they're looking forward to a relaxed me!). I hope you've got some great plans lined up or simply looking forward to taking it easy too?

Have a wonderful couple of days and see you Monday!
