A danish home with beautiful objects and sleeping cat

One of the loveliest homes in Denmark has to be that of Tine Kjeldsen & Jacob Fossum, owner of Danish homewares brand Tine K Home, and their three children Klara, Tilde and Konrad.  The 19th century home on the island of Funin reflects Tine's passion for  beautiful objects, lovely memories, different cultures and interesting stories. Handmade pieces and charming objects from the Tine K Home collection can be seen throughout the home and have been combined with a Scandinavian simplicity to create a serene, warm, relaxed home - the perfect place for cat nap (do you spot him?!).

Femina Homeowner: Tine Kjeldsen (with kind permission). Stylist: Tone Kroken, photographer: Yvonne Wilhelmsen

I've actually featured the home here before, but it's constantly updated so when I spotted these lovely images shot by Yvonne Wilhemsen I thought I'd better not keep them all to myself?!

The biggest addition in my eyes are the kilim rugs. I also like the half painted wall in the dining space.

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the give-away to win a String Pocket. The winner has now been announced (drum roll....) here!

Have a lovely day!

Fabulous inspiration from Danish OYOY

I'm so excited to share the loveliest interior inspiration from Danish homeware company OYOY with you today. The lifestyle images were snapped for OYOY's Autumn Winter 2014 collection which now includes OYOY Mini (cue: the world's cutest cushions and blankets for children). OYOY are known for their fabulous imagery (see this and this post from previous years) and AW14 definitely does not disappoint. I wonder if they'd stop by and style my home for me?!

OYOY
Anything that caught your eye?

My friend has hoops in their sitting room like the ones in the image above. I'm all for indoor playground equipment (see this, this and this home for inspiration), but I haven't quite found the right place for it in my own home - how about you? But there's always space for a cute wigwam and polar bear cushion...

Have a lovely day!

Beautiful danish spaces by House Doctor

The more days I go into the new year the more I realise 2014 is going to be great! I feel so inspired by fresh starts at this time of the year. There's also all the new collections starting to appear, and nothing warms my heart more than the first signs of Spring in a home. So today's inspiration comes from the fab danish brand House Doctor and their hot off the press Everyday 2014 collection.

House Doctor via Stil Inspiration

Take home inspiration for me? It's got to be the nautical striped day bench with pale blue cushions. So cute!  How about you?

On Friday I showed a home for those who need a little new year de-clutter inspiration (me). I've become even more inspired by this since reading The Happiness Project (have you read it?) in which de-cluttering the home is seen as the very first step in the path to improved happiness.....pass me the bin bags! Oh and if you need any more prompting  - how about this nautical striped storage bag to match the day bench?!

More Danish inspiration required for a Monday? how about this Danish oasis in Cannes, this home of a Danish stylist or one of the most popular homes I've shown here: A danish home on a hill.

Have a lovely day!

Which interior look do you like best?

I love these interior spaces from the catalogue of Danish brand Bloomingville (spotted over at The Design Chaser). Copper accessories are a given in my eyes this season - I LOVE them. But the question is, would you put your treasured copper against white or pink?

Bloomingville via The Design Chaser with thanks
Personally, I don't think I'd go for an entirely pink accent wall (my man simply wouldn't allow it) - even though I do love this sitting roomthis dining room and the heart wall in this little girl's room. Instead I think I'd opt for a a white wall with pink and copper accessories - is that cheating? I'm getting my 'accessorise in pink' inspiration from this home and this home. Cool but cute. What about you?

Copper shopper (te he he couldn't resist!): no one does copper accessories better than Tom Dixon (light and candlelight) or? Although I do also have my eye on this light and this By Lassen Kubus candleholder too. So many things beautiful things around right now.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Very cool inspiration from OYOY

I'm a big fan of the Danish brand OYOY. Any company who has a vision 'to design functional products in high quality materials with beautiful colours and shapes' has my vote! And they're true to their word. I love the way they have styled these images with items from their Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. If you love accessorising your home with cushions, candle holders etc like I do (my husband has actually put a ban on me buying any more cushions - luckily he's not terribly observant!), you'll love this company.

OYOY via Riazzoli with thanks

If you're on the look out for some cool black and white prints like the ones you see here, Lotta Agaton's webshop is a great source. I also love art by Danish graphic designer Silke Bonde

Before I head off into the gloomy Southern Swedish weather this morning I'm extremely excited to introduce my new sponsor The Linen Works.  The Linen Works sells relaxed washed bed and table linen in soft muted tones, as well as kitchen linen and fabric by the metre for creating curtains, blinds etc and the good news is they ship worldwide. I absolutely love high quality linen which only gets softer and more beautiful the more you wash it but I'm having a hard time choosing between the Cassis Rose bed linen and Toulon Grey bed linen for my bedroom what do you reckon? Both?! Ha! A big warm welcome to The Linen Works

Have a lovely day - hope it's not pouring with rain where you are too?!

Monday DIY - the simplest, cutest idea ever.

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend? If you're looking for a simple way to update your home this week or even just something creative to do, how about this incredibly simple yet cool textile / wallpaper project? It's the brainchild of Frk Hansen who was inspired by Ferm Living's beautiful half-moon wallpaper. Frk Hansen used a fabric marker, textile paint, and a potato to create the monochrome design. Yes, a potato! I'm on it!

Photos 1,2,3,4 Frk Hansen - with kind permission. Photo 5: Ferm Living

Pretty cool project don't you think? You could always swap the half moons for hearts like in the image below (or buy very cute heart stickers from Ferm Living).

Ferm Living
And while we're on the subject of children's rooms (although even as an adult I could definitely have those half-moons and hearts on my wall, couldn't you?!), I'm extremely excited to introduce my new sponsor Babyssimo who sells the most cute children's things ever. Cue gorgeous baby pyjamas, accessories (mittens with faces anyone?!), and measuring giraffes. Oh and there's their Tocoto Vintage range too....*sigh* can one of my friends have a baby soon please so I can get shopping?

Have a lovely Monday!

A lovely Gothenburg apartment

Morning! Nearly the weekend - yay! It's starting to become a tradition for me to show the latest apartments for sale in Gothernburg - simply because they give us so much inspiration! This apartment staged and on the market through Stadshem is no exception with it's picture walls and moodboards, monochrome with accent colour scheme, open wardrobe and fab Danish furniture. Let's take a peek.....

Stadshem

There's a whole load of Hay love in this apartment with the Strap MirrorDLM (Son't Leave Me!) Side table, About a Lounge Chair in the sitting room, and the About a Chair Swivel in the kitchen. And we're pretty sure that's the Normann Copenhagen Block Side Table in light grey. It's fab Danish design all round!

Any ideas you'd like to steal from this home?

Beautiful A/W collection from By Nord

Danish brand By Nord not only sells fabulous products they take the most beautiful lifestyle images too. This inspiration is from the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection and reflects how the brand is inspired by the diversity of the raw yet beautiful Nordic nature where the rough meets the smooth.

By Nord

How happy would my little girls be (who have just recently started to learn to ride) with the horse bedding? And how happy would their Mummy be with that sitting room (or in fact, anything from the By Nord collection?!

See previous By Nord inspiration images here as well as the fantastic home of By Nord owner Hanne Berzant here. Oh so fabulous.

Are you a By Nord fan?

Have a lovely Wednesday!

A black and white Stockholm apartment

Hello there! With the arrival of spring yesterday I had to show an apartment showing proof of the pools of sunlight we're finally enjoying! This black and white Stockholm apartment is for sale through Fantastic Frank and sits high up over Vasastan. The style is quite masculine and minimalist. My favourite space is the bedroom and the reading corner on the balcony (now that it's spring!). What about you?

Fantastic Frank
I was lucky enough to spend the day in Copenhagen yesterday. I'd been planning a trip for ages as I'd never been to the Hay concept store and various other stores that have recently opened . Hay definitely didn't disappoint set over two levels and beautifully styled. Next time I'll take my Canon camera so I can share some pictures.

I also nipped into Goerg Jensen to see the new flagship store display (which has become my first My Scandinavian Home instagram image! Yes, I've FINALLY joined instagram....haha sooo late to the party!) and my favourite design store Stilleben. One of my favourite parts of the day though was sitting outside for lunch with a glass of wine and a magazine in the sunshine- luxury!
