Oh, have I got a charming cottage to share with you today! Built in the 1930s, this beauty looks like something straight out of a fairytale from the outside, and the magic continues inside with a joyful mix of colour and pattern. Every room has its own unique charm, making this home a true delight.
Sandra Serefia, who lives just outside Gothenburg in Lerum with her young family, has a real talent for DIY. She creates everything from hand-painted patterns on floors to crafting her own dining table, all with a keen eye for design and plenty of creativity.
Keep an eye out for floral ceilings, dreamy pink shades (like the walls i the sun room below painted in NCS 2020-Y80R), checked floors, cosy cotton lampshades (a must-have right now!), and the sweetest children's bedroom you ever did see!
While the above shows the main sitting room, below is a glimpse of the cosy TV room with layers of lovely textiles. Notice how all the bright coloured toys are concealed in a cabinet when not in use!
Pink stairs? Why not! I love the pale pink (NCS code S3020-Y50R), white and green combination–how about you?
A nook at the side of the bedroom has been transformed into an ensuite bathroom. This is the second time in the space of a week that we've seen a lovely bathroom with sloped ceilings (
here's the tour with the other one), very inspiring!
Here's another lovely pink shade (NCS 1820-Y97R), which goes beautifully with the blue (
Icey blue by Jotun Lady).
Are you even Swedish if your child doesn't have a
KÃ¥nken mini rucksack? I love this one in yellow - my daughter had the very same one when she was small!
Even the dressing room / walk-in-wardrobe in the children's room is pretty!
This home is such a dream! I love how Sandra has thought about every detail and there is something fascinating to look at around every corner.
Is there anything that caught your eye? Perhaps some details I missed?

It’s absolutely lovely, cozy and loved… cottage living, is so nice! I love all her painted projects!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you love Sandra's home too. I agree her paintwork is just lovely - and there's evidence of it everywhere… on the walls, floor and furniture!
DeleteWhat a happy joyful space!
ReplyDeleteGreat description: 'joyful' :)
DeleteUtterly adorable, inside and out. So many details to take in. I want to be a small child again and live in that space--the wallpaper! I am impressed with how they pulled off an en suite bathroom--is there another bathroom in the cottage? And let's not forget the dog, who looks like he needs a good head scratch. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought exactly the same - the children's bedroom is like a fairytale and one of the prettiest I've seen. I am actually not sure about the bathroom situation, I wondered the same.
DeleteEverything is PERFECTION!
ReplyDelete:) happy to hear you feel inspired.
DeleteOoh... that spectacular sunset!
ReplyDeleteOverall, to my eye, the house exudes a colorful serenity, soft and cheerful. And the color schemes seem to fit the activities in each room -- subdued hues in the TV room so as not to compete with the action being viewed on the set and in the children's room to help little ones fall asleep, but more lively tints in other rooms. I don't know if Sandra planned it this way, but her painting scheme has opened my eyes to another way of thinking about and using color.
Such an interesting observation. I completely agree! I am sure Sandra thought about this–whether intentionally or subconsciously.
DeleteI want to dive in and take a nap here!
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect home for a nap :)
DeleteI enjoyed all the whimsical touches. Lovely uses of color and wallpaper. Her home makes you are being embraced in a joyful hug and the garden is the perfect complement. And of course, so is their dog!
ReplyDeleteAgree! Just so many lovely factors thrown into one house (and garden), all of which bring a joyful feel.
DeleteSandra's home with the yellow ochre? on the exterior, maintains the essence of a beautiful past!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Sandra's, Maria's, Ane's, Emilia's and Fanny's homes. Each home with a greenhouse/sunroom is a labor of love, a source of comfort and inspiration creating a peaceful but stimulating environment for children with foliage/florals, color, texture, shapes and pattern, including some ethnic. Children see, Children do!
Loved each comment above!
Is that a stuffed bird on top of the green cabinet in the dining area?
Thank you for a delightful mid- week feast!
I am so happy you have enjoyed all of these homes, and i completely agree–they are wonderful, joyful childhood homes!
DeleteI believe that is indeed a bird....
The pink color of the arched doorway,
ReplyDeletethe checkered floor and
Looking into the dining
room with the sage green hutch, took my
breath away! ☺️
Beautiful touches! Thank you for sharing.
DeleteI was interested in the cooker (?) in the main bedroom. Would that be used for heating?
ReplyDeleteThey were often used for cooking and eating in the past. I am curious as to why it's in the bedroom–could it have been shared accommodation? I have asked Sandra and waiting to hear back, will hopefully have an update for you soon.
DeleteAbsolutely beautiful, very, very, very, very, very cozy :))
ReplyDeleteKids rooms are magic :))))
