It's Friday! And not just any Friday - it's Friday 6th December which also means St Nicholas day (German friends, I hope you have a wonderful day!) and it's also.... my birthday! Needless to say, I'm in the mood to celebrate - which is why I thought it would be apt to share this pretty, festive table setting in the Swedish home of Caroline Borg.
If anyone's entertaining this holiday season you might just want to savour the details. A simple table setting with a rustic yet, elegant vibe, Carolines 'Jul' table is as cosy as can be with a candle wreath overhead and a beautiful tree just beyond.
Ready to feel the 'mys'?
Oh so pretty - and such a cosy and welcoming little cottage in the snow!
Could you imagine spending the holiday season here? Is there anything that caught your eye?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Birthday Nikki from Maine enjoy your special day ! St Nicolaas is also a Dutch celebration day for kids . The special cookies are called peper noten and they get presents ! I love to play special sinterklaas songs on the piano even though I am long beyond my childhood age ! But I am still Dutch at heart . Have a fun day
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Ah yes, I forgot that St Nicolaas is a celebration in The Netherlands. I loved hearing more about your celebrations, what a great day!
DeleteHappy Birthday from Iowa!! And thank you for sharing another lovely home. The understated decor looks just right for this cottage. The wreath and candles above the table was my favorite part. A red cottage in the snow. Perfect!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I love the wreath and candles over the table too - so pretty, the warm glow after sunset must be especially pretty!
DeleteMy birthday, as well, Nikki. Happiest of birthdays to you! Love love love your blog!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Have a wonderful year!
DeleteThank you, happy birthday to you too! :)
DeleteNiki…sorry for the misspelling.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even notice :) My name is spelt in many different ways and I don't mind in the least!
DeleteI’d love to sit at that table any time of day. There is a softness and lovely patina to everything on the tabletop that is so harmonious. It feels very nature inspired. Those wrapping papers used on the gifts are beautiful, too. Hope you have a beautiful birthday!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, the softness and patina really stands out - a perfect description. Thank you Pamela, I had a lovely day!
DeleteHope you're having a lovely birthday Niki. Thanks for your inspirational blog!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteThank you for sharing Carolina's home. Love the black pitcher, the candle wreath, and such a pretty flower arrangement. Liked the white tile and beige color wash in the kitchen. The last few posts have got me looking up exquisite candlesticks!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Niki! Have a wonderful year! As someone above , Love love love this blog.
Everyone needs a pair (or more) or exquisite candle sticks at this time of the year :) PS thank you so much for the birthday wishes and your kind words about this blog, it made me so happy!
Deletehappy birthday Niki! and what a fantastic idyllic cottage. perfect! I could retreat there all winter with books, games, walks in the snow and just do nothing! We celebrated ‘Sinterklaas’ yesterday, in the Netherlands we celebrate it on the 5th of December. a beautiful holiday with very nice traditions. Tomorrow we put up the Christmas tree and get the whole house ready for Christmas. I think the wreath in this cottage is beautiful! happy birthday following a beautiful weekend. greetings from the Netherlands!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I completely forgot that you celebrate Sinterklaas in the Netherlands - it sounds like a magical day!
DeleteHappiest of birthdays to you!
ReplyDeleteThis is dreamy. If I were to imagine a perfect Scandinavian kitchen and dining area, this would be it. I'm especially taken with the gift wrap and the ridged taper candle. I keep scrolling back to look at everything again. :)
Thank you Kris :)
DeleteAaaaa, I'm so happy you see this as the perfect Scandinavian kitchen and dining area - I have to agree!
From one December girl to another, the happiest of birthdays!
ReplyDeleteSending hugs from the Mornington Peninsula Victoria Aus at the bottom of the world!
