For those of you who felt yesterdays home was a little too minamilist (I really enjoyed reading your comments!), here's a slightly more cosy, family home for you In Gothenburg, Sweden. Stadshem have cleverly styled this Swedish apartment so that every corner is functional and inviting with soft textiles thrown over sofas, chairs and the bed. I love how the space is so open with large double doors thrown open creating a feeling of movement.

The more I look at the home tours each day the more impressed I am that the spaces look so complete. I have sooooo many projects on my to do list but just can't seem to get anything ticked off. And then of course before I do anything it's a weigh up - 'new white floors and wood burning stove...or a family holiday'?! You can imagine which wins :) Does anyone else feel like this? Or is your home decorating complete?
PS On a brigher note, did you manage to pack 20 things off for recycling yesterday?! Mine are already bundled and ready to go! And tonight, I might just find another 20.....I'm getting into this now!
This is my dream house... and I love that wallpapers, before or after I will have :-)

I love this home! So cosy and full of character. I am having a nightmare trying to get rid of stuff at the minute, am a hoarder by nature so it is proving rather difficult. I do daydream about a nice calm, more minimalist home with only the items I truly love in it though, I really do have to much stuff!!
ReplyDeletethis is really incredibly nice. I'm myself in a process of redecorating and refurnishing my appartment, but there is always something to do. and a family trip would win for me, too ;)
ReplyDeleteLa vivienda de ayer era espectacular pero ésta no se queda atrás.
ReplyDeleteTexturas, luces, colores, preciosa.
Bss
oooh, love the wood plank floors!!
ReplyDeleteJ
Me too. The width of the planks is perfect and the warm colour tone of the natural wood is very complementary to the furniture and white walls.
Deletei love this home style >!
ReplyDeletethe wallpaper in the bedroom is gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteHave the bag ready but nothing in it yet!!
ReplyDeleteCosy is definately for me, of course would like to be minamal but cant quite do it! x

ReplyDeletethe house is amazing :)
Thank you bruna! Always lovely to hear from a New reader.
Deletei am still finding things to get rid of and happily doing so. when it gets difficult i think "would i buy this again?" if the answer is no, out it goes! that seems to work really well for me. i love this little place, i have long been admiring that floral wall covering. this home is my more my style (realistically) but in my dreams i'd still go for yesterdays minimalist home.
ReplyDeleteOh...just lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove the floors and that fireplace!

Wow, totally beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteLovely, warm and welcoming. I still am drawn to the severity of yesterday's house, at least as an ideal. The stark minimalism is calming, meditative. I think this home is inviting and you want to be invited to dinner, the kind of people you want to hang out with!
ReplyDeleteOh when can I move in? I love everything about this place...Like you I always feel like there is something else on my house project list but I feel like it is a good thing. Like our lives our homes evolve with us...Good for you for gathering items to recycle and check that off your list. I am in the process of decluttering and want to sell old clothes, books etc. at a flea market with friend next month...

ReplyDeleteJ'adore, c'est magnifique...
ReplyDeleteI really love it but cannot imagine how I could ever not only create a minimalist space but how to live in it. It seems to work just fine when on holiday at a hotel room but then, it always feels like someone else's space. I am always piling items to go to the thrift store -- going through my bookcases, the closet etc. I tend to get tired of decorative items and send them off as well. But I never ever seem to achieve what I seen in these kinds of photos. I think this is why people often need to hire a fresh pair of eyes. Of course I live in a 1970's suburb, not in one of those lovely tall ceiling historic buildings. I love those round furnace things in the corners--are these fireplaces or gas stoves?
