One Swedish apartment, two different ways of doing grey

Swedish estate agents FastighetsbyrÄn took one apartment and asked three talented Swedish stylists to decorate it (cue: blog frenzy!). The results are incredible and give real insight into how to transform a home. My favourite two are by Tina Hellberg and Hans Blomquist who took the colour of the moment: grey, and made the apartment their own. Which look do you prefer?!

So fascinating don't you think? Hans has gone all out charcoal grey for a 'cocoon' like feel, where as Tina has kept the space white with grey accent colours. I love the striking nature of Hans' styling but perhaps find Tina's more livable in as I like a lot of light.

Which would you go for?

As mentioned, there's a third look too, created by Mikael Beckman. Mikael went for whites, greens and brass. You can see the final look here.

New sponsor alert and so very excited about this one. Please provide a warm welcome to new Australian online shop Room To Decorate. You can also find Room To Decorate on Facebook, TwitterPinterest and blog. Thank you for supporting my wonderful sponsors who make this blog happen!

Have a lovely day!

PS Thank you so much for entering the weekend give-away. The competition is now closed and I will contact the winner today via e-mail. Look out for the next one in two weeks time!

An eclectic family home in Norway

I love to mix things up a little here on My Scandinavian Home. This week it's been mainly about the contemporary monochrome home with crisp, clean lines. It's definitely time for some colour, it's the weekend after all! This eclectic family home in Norway is full of bursts of colour and a real mix of vintage, retro and country style. I love that it's awash with warm light. The perfect home to celebrate a few days off wouldn't you say?!

What I like most about this home is that it has a big heart - every item is unique and tells a story. You'd be able to walk in here and immediately know who lives here. I love that about a home.

And there's those  fabulous Tulip chairs and table too of course.

Mustn't forget the little kitty cat either. And my new favourite tea - Lov organic ginger-lemon tea in the kitchen (15% off with code SCANDINAVIAN).

What do you love about this home?

My Scandinavian Home turned three this week, I think that calls for a celebration don't you?! I've created over 1300 posts in that time (can you believe that?!) some of my favourites are archived under Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish or International home tours, woth a look if you have a little time!

To celebrate I'm holding a weekend give-away with an oh so cool prize so pop back over the next couple of days to enter!

Have a wonderful day!

The stockholm pad of an art director / photographer

The beauty is in the detail in this stunning monochrome Stockholm pad. The space belongs to Sara Medina Lind, a half Swedish half Canarian freelance art director and photographer. Her self-confessed passion for fashion and interior shines through in every image she takes of her home. I couldn't decide whether to include the images of the bed made with grey or white linen. In the end I left both in as inspiration. Which look do you prefer?

Sara Medina Lind with kind permission. Inspired by a post on Nordic Days, with thanks

Oh how I love this monochrome style, how about you?

So many items I recognise including: the classic IKEA EKTORP sofa in Blekinge white, The Kinfolk Table book, 'g' playtype poster,  black sweater by swedish fashion brand Acne. Linen bedding in charcoal and white. A cheeky something from one of my favourite Swedish shops COS (I wonder what?!). Anything else?

Sara has a wonderful blog and instagram account which she constantly updates with her latest work and images of her home. I'll be her latest follower then.

More fab black and white home inspiration here, here and here.

Have a lovely day!
