A striking Danish log cabin

Hello Friday! To celebrate the weekend I always try to find an all singing all dancing, awe-inspiring home. I spent several hours rifling through Pinterest and other sources for the perfect home today. And then I found it! It's hard not to instantly love this Danish cabin by the Haderslev Fjord with it's almost entirely exposed wood interior, high ceilings and contemporary furniture. The basic way it's been furnished allows the incredible vista to do the talking and yet there's also something incredibly cosy about it too. I could definitely spend my weekend here, how about you?!

I have a real penchant for Scandinavian holiday homes as you'll know from these archives: rural retreats, summer cottages and log cabins. Pure escapism for the weekend (just scroll past the home above as it will likely come up first).

The cosy and relaxed home of a Norwegian blogger

Well hello there! It was a long time since I showed a Norwegian home, too long I'd say. So I thought you might like today's home tour for two reason: firstly it will introduce you to a wonderful Norwegian blog: Marsipan og Smilefjes (unless of course you already follow it?) and secondly these images taken by the blog author Marthe of her own home which she shares with Rasmus, Mathea and Anna will make you feel like you're right there in a her relaxed cosy white and wood house in Norway. What a beautiful home don't you think?! I love the touch of pastel (although I'm a 'hot' colour wannabe I'm a real pastel girl at heart, how about you?).

Old meets new in a Malmö home

Today I thought I'd share a home here in Malmö, Sweden. This space appeals to me as it shows how adding a few primary colours and pastels can really brighten up a space and add a sense of fun. It also helps that the architecture of the apartment is beautiful too - and they have a 'kakelugn' (traditional Swedish tiled fireplace) lucky them! The owners have been bold and added a contemporary edge to an otherwise traditional space with painted chairs, a pink sofa, bold accessories and mid-century finds which all works together to add a very relaxed home, don't you think?

I spot the MASKROS light, String shelving and what looks like a vintage Bumling pendant. I also love the mid-century touch (search Etsy for similar mid-century furniture).
