A lovely relaxed cabin in the Stockholm archipelagos

Since the clocks went forward and the evenings have got lighter, I've dared to dream of long lazy summer days. In Scandinavia it's popular to head to pared-back summer cottages by a sea or lake and spend the summer surrounded by family, friends and nature. This bohemian cabin out in the Stockholm archipelago is the holiday home of Swedish designer Carouschka Streijffert. Decorated with a mix of antique finds and treasures picked up on travels,  it's surely impossible to be anything but relaxed with it's laid back style and incredible vista. And if the weather turns - throw a couple of logs on the fire. What's not to love?!

Could you spend your summer here?

I say roll on balmy summer days with candlelit suppers alfresco and chilled glasses of wine!

Here are some other dreamy Scandinavian retreats to get everyone in the mood for summer this Wednesday morning: a Norwegian cabin by the sea, a Finnish island retreat, and a Swedish cottage with a lovely nook.

Have a lovely day!

A wonderful Copenhagen home

Happy April Fool's day! Have you fooled anyone yet?! In the UK you've got until midday but in Sweden you've the whole day - and then, once fooled you call your poor, unsuspecting subject a silly herring. What about in your country?! I'm oh so excited about today's home tour photographed by Tia Borgsmidt for the wonderful Danish magazine BoligLiv. It's the home of Marie and Andreas and their two children Uma and Morris just over the bridge in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. The space is teeming with personal items including art and furniture they've either inherited or sourced from antique and second hand markets. It's such a wonderful, unique home!

Anything in particular you love about this space?

I spy design items including the AJ floor lamp, Ant chairs, and the Flowerpot VP3 desk lamp. Pick up mid-century treasures at Lauritz.

Love to see that Marie works at Central Hotel og Cafe, the world's smallest hotel. I recently booked it as a birthday trip for my husband and I and our breakfast will be served in this cafe. I can't wait!

I'm also excited to introduce a new sponsor today. Montreal based Irene Suchocki is the incredible fine art photographer behind the oh so fab online shop Eye Poetry. Her work combines her love of travel with her dream-like aesthetic which include city collections such as  Paris, City of Love (I'm looking at you, Erin), New York, New York, and Italy, La Dolce Vita. My personal fine art photography favourites include night glitter, ordinary silence, and plain sailing, how about you?

Have a lovely day!

A very cool Toronto apartment

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend? Did you get a chance to enter the give-away to win the t'shirt soft bed linen yet? This fabulous Victorian Toronto apartment belongs to John Baker and Juli Daoust and is located directly above their beautiful shop Mjölk (meaning 'milk' in Swedish). -how's that for a commute?! You can definitely see John and Juli's love of all things Scandinavian and Japanese shining through and I also like the brown accents they've used throughout. I once featured their cottage on here which is equally beautiful but in a different way.

*sigh* such a perfect way to brighten up a Monday morning don't you think? Is there anything you love in particular about this space?

I'm all over that wall of dried wild flowers (could this image be from their shop?), I wonder if this can be re-created as a DIY project? It would be so fun for spring.

By the way, I came across a competition over at FinnStyle at the weekend asking people to choose which Marimekko pattern they like the most. They're now down to the final four and would love some help choosing the winner, one lucky participant could win a 100 dollar gift card for their efforts (please let it be me....or you...or me....!)

Have a lovely Monday!

PS Thank you to Miss Moss and Dwell for the inspiration.
