The 2014 romantic pastel home

It seems like pastels are back in a big way for 2014. My personal take is 'pastels with a romantic touch'. I came across these inspirational images from H&M Home and think they really hit the mark.  Do you have an H&M home near you? We don't have one in Southern Sweden sadly but there's one over the bridge in Copenhagen so I always take the time to stop by when I'm in town. Last time I picked up this moss coloured knit throw for my bedroom. Seeing these pictures make me feel perhaps it's time for another visit?!

If you fancy a little more pastel inspiration I love this Swedish home and this home of a French fashion designer.

Are you a pastel person? I'm definitely more pastels then bold colours although I do sometimes think I should throw in an element of surprise like a bright yellow chair!

Incidentally this is not a sponsored post, I just happen to love the H&M Home lifestyle images, how about you?!

Have a lovely day!

A romantic old school bathroom with a modern twist

Last week I had a lovely comment from one of you asking to see more bathrooms and your wish is my command! This beautiful black and white bathroom was recently photographed by Skåne based Daniella Witte. It's the perfect mix of old school and modern day industrial with a hint of romantic. I love the retro black square pattern boarder used to break up the white. Such a lovely bathroom.

Your kind of bathroom? As I write this the snow is falling silently outside so I could definitely see myself lighting a few candles and having a soak with delicious smelling bubble bath in this tub (with the door closed naturally!).

I spy L:a Bruket products - trending in bathrooms across Scandinavia right now (wonderful products with beautiful packaging).

For more bathroom inspiration check out this calming all white bathroom, free-standing bath inspiration or even alfresco showers?! You might also want to check out my bathroom Pinterest board.

Are you a shower or a bath person? Oh and wet room or dry room?

Have a wonderful day!

A monochrome apartment with a touch of orange

Hello Monday! I hope you had a great weekend? It seems Fantastic Frank is taking my blog by storm this January. Here is another wonderful Stockholm apartment styled and photographed for sale by the Swedish estate agent. Decorated in monochrome save for a bold orange touch in the dining area, this home has so many inspiring details.

Fantastic Frank via 79 ideas

I love the artwork, mood boards and use of greenery (especially next to the bed!). Personally I'm not a big fan of orange and would have preferred to have seen a mix match of chairs around the table but hey, that's at a push because I would say this apartment is next to perfect! How about you?

I spy the Vitra wire chair and Eames DSR in orange (15% off with MYSCAN),  The HAY standard loop table is similar, and Anglepoise desk lamps lights.

In case you've missed them, her's a warren of fab apartments from Fantastic Frank?

Incidentally this year I've big plans for my blog (more to follow!). Among one of my goals is to create a My Scandinavian Home app - but how to get started?! Do you know how, where, what?! Would love some tips.

Have a lovely Monday!

A fab work space with an industrial touch

A week into work after the new year my thoughts are turning to office space and how to make it as lovely and inspiring as possible. I dream of working in a collaborative work space, preferably in a converted warehouse or factory. The graphic designer, knitter and blogger Emma Dime's creative space hits the mark. Emma works in this corner of Jack London Square in San Francisco which was recently photographed for Rue magazine.

I absolutely love the huge windows, original wood flooring, moodboard, Eames DAW chairs (15% off with MYSCAN), Sony headset and green plants. I could definitely imagine myself working here everyday what about you?

Read the full interview and see more pictures here.

I could also work in this Norwegian home office, this fab work space in a converted workspace and this collaborative work space in Brooklyn. Although I'm fairly happy with my home office too. Would you change anything about yours?

Have a lovely day!
