White space with beautiful displays

Since this week has accidentally become about ways to display your nearest and dearest objects (pictures, dolls, your pets!), I thought this shop, Le Petit Salon in Bulgaria could definitely teach us a few things. It's such a beautiful space and uses so many different tricks. Maybe a trip to Sofia is in order!

Wednesday DIY - simple cluster pendant lamp from IKEA

If you're looking for a new project to start 2012, how about this light? All you need is several IKEA SKURER plant pots and a few electrical cords. Drill a hole in the bottom of each plant pot and voila! A cluster pendent light like the one below! Thank you Plaza Interiors, for the inspiration.

The beauty of this light is that you can also just make one or two to hang over a table. Or if you prefer the more colourful approach you could also choose a coloured flex or spray paint the plant pots. Personally I love the simple nature of the white design above. Happy DIY! Oh and if you make one, don't forget to share it with us!

Pets - the must have home accessory for 2012?!

Fantastic blog Desire to Inspire asked readers to send in pictures of their beloved 'pets on furniture'. The results are wonderful! After looking at these pics you might just allow your dog on the sofa afterall, as long as he matches the decor of course.

This afternoon I am going to announce the winner from the Picky Pic children's picture competition I held in collaboration with the wonderful, creative girls at Picky Pic. So don't forget to pop back later to see if you are the lucky winner! In the meantime, I looooove the clever wall displays in these lovely children's bedrooms.

I love the use of the crates, string and clothes pegs and wired garden planters to display children's treasured items. It just goes to show that you don't need to spend a lot to create a beautiful room, just imagination and time. So lovely don't you think?  See you this s'avo!
