Beautiful inspiration for plant lovers

Last week I shared a cosy garden shed make-over (how I'd love one of these!) - which was all about creating a little home to call your own at the end of the garden. Today, I thought we'd do the reverse - and take a look at how to create a lovely garden inside our homes - or at least bring a little greenery indoors! Not only are plants said to help boost health, clean the air, boost healing and help us work better (read more here!), they also look beautiful. This weekend I'll be taking inspiration from Jeska and Dean Hearne's lovely home - which Dean recently shot for a 'green-living' feature in Another Escape magazine. I hope you'll feel inspired too!

Time to create that urban jungle?!

Get the look with a few of my favourite planters: vintage terracotta pots, this and this garden pot, and for something a little quirky try Stella Baggott (cute!).

And for the plants - I'm loving some of these 'no fail' plants (said to be nearly impossible to kill  we like)...and the 9 best for air purifying.

For more home inspiration this weekend you might want to revisit the beautiful Melbourne home of a florist and a lovely boho home of a Swedish artist and florist.

And finally - 182 beautiful ideas of how to incorporate plants and flowers into your life. I guess we have no excuses!

And before I leave you to have a lovely 'green' weekend, there's good news all round, I've announced the winner of the Feliz bedding here - as well as a fantastic 20% off for everyone else - yay! Click here to get your discount code!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

PS Could you live off the grid like this couple?

Fresh Dutch style with cheerful pops of colour

Somehow I've ended up with quite dark wood in my home - (mainly due to the pieces of mid-century furniture from my parents-in-laws attic - seen in my sitting room) I love these items and couldn't bear to part with them but one day I would love to go for a fresh, light feel. These lovely spaces created by Studio LileSadi hit the spot with the soft feel and pretty pops of colour. Every shot features their signature pieces - which include beautiful shelving, prints, cushions, blankets and even a birdhouse side table (love that - it even has a built in light?!). Enjoy!

Oh so lovely, don't you think?

What type of wood do you have in your home?

You can find many of the items you see in their webshop (and read more about the Dutch shop Studio LileSadi).  Source beautiful pure linen bedding here.

I love Dutch style -  often associated with as light with cheerful dashes of colour - and am often featuring them here on My Scandinavian Home.  You can find a few of my favourites here. And of course Holly's studio in Delft, which I featured yesterday! It's turning out to be a bit of Dutch week?!

Have a lovely day!

Could you imagine working in this studio?!

This week I officially went back after the summer (cue the daily posts!). As many of you know, before I decided to focus on my own projects I worked for a multinational corporation in a large open plan office over looking a car park on one side and a motorway on the other (guuuuh!). These days my work environment looks a little different. But I've learned that wherever you work there are always small updates you can do to shake things up a little and make it your own. Take Holly Marder's lovely studio in Delft, Holland. I featured it a while ago here, and now she's made some wonderful updates....both small and large. Let's take a peek.....

Could you imagine working here?!

A few items I know and love: Cove and Leaf lines posters. Anne Black hanging planters. Wicker chair from Tine K Home. Leaning rack from Walden. The fab side-cabinet doors are from Superfront.

Holly's bedroom is pretty lovely too (in case you missed it previously).

See the full feature which includes 'six steps to a fun, fresh and functional home office' over on Holly's blog

For more office inspiration today you might also want to check out the creative studio of Katrin Bååth, a beautiful Italian design studio and the fabulous studio of an interior designer. Soooo fab! It wouldn't feel like work in any of these would it?!

Love these work links too:

The 9 best TED talks to help you kick ass at work.

This picture of Ulrike Theusner in her studio.

My 'work' Pinterest board features over 600 lovely office, studio and atelier spaces - can you believe that?!

7 daily habits of highly productive people (strange, it doesn't include slow coffee and long breakfasts - not sure about this list?!).

This beautiful studio has been created by IKEA! The Alex drawers are a favourite of mine.

How lovely is this mid-century desk? Hurry though, it's a one off!

Now I feel like I need to update my office - again! How about you? I'd love to hear about your work space!

Have a lovely day!

A Swedish home with lovely details

If I was looking for an apartment right now (in Gothenburg, Sweden) I'd pick this one! Not only is it an etage in an old, beautifully renovated building known as 'The Carpenter's Pride', it also has lovely details (I'm looking at you tiles, doors and wood beams!), and of course there's the calm tones throughout. The exterior is reminiscent of brick houses commonly seen in the UK (which of course, I'm naturally drawn to!). Oh and it's located in a beautiful valley which meanders towards the Göta River - which runs between Lake Vänern and the Kattegat sea. I'm sold, how about you?!

I have to say the area around the dining room window is so clever - providing storage and a cosy window seat - love that! Plus I have a bit of a thing for rustic benches (I've got a similar one in my dining area). Love the way they've hung a row of hooks above it too.

A couple of other items I know and love - beautiful Thonet chairs, wishbone chairs, and a pure linen table cloth.

Is there anything that stands out to you?

You can see more pics of this lovely home - including the facade here.

Have a lovely day!

PS If you haven't yet - don't forget to enter the give-away to win fun bedding from Feliz here (the competition closes on Thursday!).

The Copenhagen home of a Danish style icon

Hello Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend?! Today is a big day here - my littlest girl started school. I've never seen anyone look so big and yet so small,  I'm not actually sure who was more nervous me or her?!  Anyway, all was well and I'm feeling calmer now, so it's definitely time to get on with today's tour! This lovely home belongs to Pernille Teisbaek, stylist, co-founder and creative director at Social Zoo Direct and her boyfriend. When it comes to fashion Pernille is your girl (you only have to check out her instagram gallery to see this!). When you see her fab apartment, it's obvious her eye for style covers interiors too!  Pernille likes to mix and match - blending old and new pieces from different eras (she has a distinct penchant for brass/ gold too). The result is a unique space with a touch of glam - what a perfect space with which to kick off the week?!

What a great space - loving the palm trees!

Anything that catches your eye?

A few other items I love: Dining area: Series 7 chairs. Sitting room PK22 chairs, Nagel candle holders, this Beni Ourain style rug is similar.  Bedroom light grey linen bedding, knit blanket, bedside table from Piet Hein Eek. Linen cushion covers from H&M Home.

For more pictures and the full write-up visit Elle Decoration Sweden.

I love the way Ditte captured this home - do you remember her own space which I showed a few weeks ago?! Beautiful!

Have a great start to the week! Back tomorrow with another home tour which I think you're going to like.....see you then!
