A Danish home with a lovely relaxed vibe

Hello! I hope you had a great weekend and feel all ready for the week ahead (although, does anyone else find that Tuesday feels like the real start of the week i.e. when you're actually ready to get anything done?!). Today I'd rather take it easy and muse over this beautiful Danish space. Located in Denmark and captured by Birgitta Wolfgang Drejer, I love the way the space is fairly minimalist and pared-back and yet lovely and relaxed. It helps that the apartment has beautiful high ceilings, herringbone floors and large rooms too!  Let's take a tour....

Birgitta Wolfgang Drejer / Sisters Agency. Shared with kind permission.

I especially loved the children's room (I like how it looks 'loved and lived in' in these pictures, so refreshing?!). Did you notice that little collection of hats too?! This room's going straight to my children's inspiration Pinterest board

Is there anything that stood out to you?

Get the look: Eames chairs, vintage demijohns in lovely blues and greens, pom poms, sheepskin throw, vintage school chair, Loom + Field sells Moroccan wedding blankets (seen on bed) as well as other beautiful things.

I'm still reeling just a little from Friday's post. And I was soooo happy that Cathy Pyle could tell us a little more about the owner / interior designer on Instagram over the weekend. It makes me realise what a great online network we all have!

Have a lovely day!

PS Thank you so much to everyone who entered the Orchard Jewelry give-away over the weekend. The winner has been announced here. There's more good news - the team are offering all readers 10% off any item in the shop until 1st June, 2016 (simply enter the code MSH01 at checkout).  See more inspiration here. Perfect!

Weekend give-away winner: Orchard Jewelry

Thank you so much for entering the Orchard Jewelry give-away to win a necklace from the exciting new 'horsehair* tassel collection' in a colour of your choice! I'm delighted to announce the winner as Ivana Komatina (please send me a mail with your contact details) who wrote:

'I really loved all the jewelry with Madoo dove design, from a pin to the earrings. That short part of the text describing how detailed the wings are made me believe that a person wearing this jewelery would be able to fly as well. And good design is there to lift us up anywhere, anytime'.

I couldn't agree more. And the good news is, all of you can feel 'lifted' by the news that Orchard Jewelry are offering all readers 10% off any item in the shop until 1st June, 2016 (simply use code MSH01 at checkout). Yay! Time to treat a friend, loved one or yourself (hey, why not?!) to a new pendant, earrings, bangles or bracelet?  I especially love the acorns with cross-hatched caps, the intricacies of the cicada wing, and delicate curled string beans. Visit the shop here.

This give-away is now closed.

A magical artist's home full of the joys of spring!

Hello April! How wonderful to see you! It would be rude not to celebrate with an absolutely stunning artist's home that's full of the joys of spring! The house, featured on JJ Locations,  has been decorated throughout with accents of green - whether in the form of lush plants, furniture, textiles or accessories. Combine this with the fabulous architecture, light flooding through the windows, mix of designer and vintage finds and art for a truly magical oasis in the heart of Camberwell, South London. Enjoy!

JJ Locations - shared with kind permission. Initially found via Design Attractor with thanks.

Beautiful, don't you think?! I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Get the look: Dining area:  Tulip tableEames chairs, source rattan chairs here and spray paint in shades of green.  Bedroom: Tom Dixon beat light, bertoia chair, rustic stool as a bedside table. Landing: This industrial pendant is similar, Beni Ourain rugs.

If you haven't discovered JJ locations before I can recommend pouring yourself a coffee and taking a look around their website this weekend.  Based in Shoreditch, the agency represents a select portfolio of professional photographic and film locations across London, the UK and abroad. See more pictures of this lovely home here.

Other homes with a splash of spring green include this Gothenburg home, and a Skåne home with a vintage touch.

More links from around the web to enjoy this weekend:

How to style a credenza.

What a lovely kitchen?!  I've got my eye on these wonderful industrial bar stools similar to the one seen.

I love this funky Finnish children's bedroom inspiration.

My latest Tumblr find.

If you do one thing this weekend - bring in some pretty cherry blossom to divide between vases.

Books stored with their pages facing outwards look lovely but aren't entirely practical. And then someone told me on instagram that this is exactly what they used to do in the national library to preserve the jackets. Could this be the excuse I needed?! Loving the 'casual pile' too!

I was sad to hear the news of architect Dame Zaha Hadid, the first woman to receive the Pritzker Architecture Prize (2004). Here are the 10 magnificent 'curvy' buildings she will be remembered for.

And finally....the night and morning routines of successful women including Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Anna Wintour- and guess what? It doesn't say that much about getting up early (I read about an entrepreneur who gets up at 3am everyday - I mean, really?!).

So that's it from me. Have a wonderful, *sunny* and relaxing weekend!

PS Oh and I'm holding a fab give-away this weekend so make sure you pop by to enter!

A Swedish apartment with dramatic dark shades

Why hello there Thursday! Is it just me or is the week whistling by?! It could be that time flies when you're having fun and yesterday I had a great day with Valentina Fussell (you might recognise the name from this piece I shared the other day). We're working on an exciting project which is well overdue. I can't wait to share it with you....watch this space! But back to the here and now - and today I thought we could take a tour of this fab home in Gothenburg. Think beautiful dark wood floors, dark grey / blue kitchen units, black accent walls, bold shelving and rich textures such as concrete, wood, sheepskin and leather. So dramatic and so lovely! Let's take a look.....

Stylist: Emma Fisher, Photography: Alen Cordic - Bjurfors

What a great space?! And what a contrast to yesterday's light and airy apartment. Which look do you prefer?

Get the look: Tom Dixon beat lights, super front door handles, Gotland sheepskin throw (how have I never discovered this beautiful Etsy shop before?!), diamond black and white rug.

You can see the full tour of this apartment over at Bjurfors (yes, it's for sale!).

Oh and off topic, but if you're up for a little DIY project  - how fab is this wall with painted 'eyes'?! Something for the weekend perhaps?

Have a lovely day!

A Swedish apartment bathed in light

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful time over Easter (for those of you who were off)? Thank you so much for entering the big Easter give-away, what an overwhelming response! - the winner has now been announced here (the suspense....). I'm back in sunny Sweden and enjoying one of my slow coffee mornings (cue - children and man out the door, coffee on the go, First Aid Kit on Spotify - bliss!). I thought I'd share this lovely apartment in Sweden today. I know exactly the spot I'd sit and enjoy a coffee - can you guess?! And then I'd pad around on the beautiful light wood floor, or snuggled up on the sofa reading in the natural light pouring through the window. Want to join me?!

Entrance Fastighetsmäkleri

What do you say? Somewhere you could wile away a morning?

Get the look: striped rug, mid-century modern coffee table, sheepskin chair seat, Thonet chairs, graphite linen pillows and white bedding, black and white striped wallpaper.

A couple of other things I love from around the web today:

12 unique staircases...do you have a favourite?!

Navy tiles and black clawfoot bathtub - what a fab bathroom?!  There's also this bathroom, if you prefer a slightly more traditional touch.

The perfect bedroom?

Work space inspiration - those shelves!

I've always wanted to own my own Kiln (could this be the year?!) and fantacise about sitting in a studio exactly like this one. I'd then store all my new creations here - of course!

Have a lovely day!

PS If you didn't win last weekend's give-away, no fear - there will be another one this weekend!.....Ooooo.

PPS I'm sure you were as surprised as I was about Instagram's algorithm announcement...if you like to keep up with my latest posts, click on the three dots to the top left of one of my posts and click 'Turn on Post Notifications' to ensure you receive them in your feed.
