A truly inspiring and creative loft space

Iiiiiit's Friday, woohoo! This definitely calls for a wonderfully cheerful home, don't you reckon?  And lucky for us, Cécil Figuette (owner of Bien Fait) has graciously opened the doors of her boho Parisien loft so we can all take a peek inside.  The bones of the former workshop can be seen peeping out from behind a creative mix of designer pieces, antiques, quirky vintage and flea market finds, items collected on travels and large wallpaper murals where bright colours and bold patterns reign supreme.  What a truly unique and imaginative home, perfect inspiration for le weekend....

Wow....those murals are just so great! Love the rugs too (Beldi sells similar).

A friend was thinking about buying this green sofa recently - after seeing the one in this home I'd say go for it! It looks lovely with all the greenery and bold patterned rugs. What do you think?

Is there anything that stands out to you about this home?

Thank you so much to Julie Ansiau (you can also follow her blog here) for the kind permission to share these photos - it's so beautifully captured. If you'd like to share these images further on your blog / Tumblr. etc, please contact Julie for permission first.

Other fabulous eclectic homes include this Norwegian family home, a fun Swedish space and a Scottish home.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

A striking yet calm monochromatic Swedish home

Hello there! I promised myself I would show a colourful home tour today, and then I spotted this dreamy Swedish space and had to share it! Monochrome home tour it is then. I love the contrast between the elegant high ceilings and original period features and the contemporary dark wood floor pooled with light- it's just so striking, don't you think?! The open-shelving in the kitchen, study and bedroom help to create a really light and airy feel and add interest. *sigh* what a truly lovely space....

Could you imagine tinkering away in that music room / study?  I'm imagining music flooding the home on a summer's evening. I'd love to be able to play the piano - a friend of mine is a musician and she says it's wonderfully therepeutic. Do you play?

Plus they really add to a home - this Swedish family home and striking Danish home with a calm feel have beautiful pianos too.

A note on where a few items are from: Study: Eames DSW chair, floor lamp. Bedroom: linen bedding, clamp reading lamps. Sitting room: elephant cushion, DLM side table, WQ print, Feather pendant light. Kitchen: letter cups.

In case you were after that home bursting with colour today, do you remember this home with black floors and vibrant hues? Which look is more you? I could go either way - or perhaps meet somewhere in the middle?

Have a wonderful day!

PS Do you live in a high-rise but long for a pool? - These guys have found the answer. How terrific is that?! Not for the faint-hearted though....

A cheerful Copenhagen home with pops of colour

Moving in together is such an exciting step - but what happens if you have two completely different styles? That's what happened to Katrín Björk - who loves bold colour and Jamie Søgaards - who prefers the monochrome look. And the result? A lovely black and white home in Vesterbro, Copenhagen, layered with vibrant pops of colour in the forms of lamps, trays, stationary and cushions. Such a light-filled, happy home! Let's take a peek....

Have to say, I do love a little colour, how about you?

I love it when you spot things in homes you can do yourself the same day. Here, a montage in the hallway (next to Muuto dots) could be replicated with washi tape (also love these alarm clock and pendant light DIY ideas!). You can source washi tape here.

Other items: Tom Dixon pendant light, Series 7 chairs, orane fan shaped folder, Hay Kaleido tray, these stools are similar.

More cheerful mid-week homes include this bright Malmö apartment (the neon pipes!), the vibrant home of a Dutch illustrator, and the happy home of Jenny Brandt.

Have a happy day!

A fab monochrome Swedish space

Hello Monday! This home is simply lovely, I'm not sure how the Swedish owners can bare to part with it...but part with it they are! I can't decide if it's the French balcony off the bedroom (how lovely to have linen curtains blowing in the breeze?), the light-filled dining room or the dressing room...either way, it's a beautiful space. Sweden anyone?!

Entrance
What do you reckon, could you live here?

So many items I know and love: Dining room: Thonet chairs / Scarlett Johansson print / black sheep skin. Bedroom: Rug / this clothes rail is similar . Sitting room: Print. Kitchen: vase / chopping board.

Aubergine  coloured drapes have become a popular choice for the bedroom (also seen in this and this bedroom). It's a wonderful way of breaking up the white / light grey of the walls. Although I'm still a little biased towards sheer curtains which catch the light (as seen in the serene home of a Swedish singer). A subtle white black-out blind tucked behind can do the trick to block out early morning light.

More pics of this space here (including a tour of the dressing room). I also love this walk-in wardrobe - one to add to my Pinterest board - for that day when...

Have a lovely day!
