A romantic Swedish home with vintage touches

Even though I've published over 1000 Scandinavian home tours here on My Scandinavian Home, there are some spaces which really stand out. This Swedish family home in Gothenburg is one of them. And now it's time for owners Cattis, Robert and their daughter Stella to move on. How they can part with this beautiful home with it's magnificent garden doors, exposed brick walls, sweeping staircase and romantic wallpapers is beyond me. But one thing's for sure, I'm sure their next home will be equally, if not more, fabulous! And whoever snaps up this space (for sale here) is very lucky indeed! Tempted?!

Homeowner: Cattis / Another side of this life. Entrance.

It could be that the style looks a little English with it's patterned wallpaper, retro kitchen tiles and rows of books. Or it could simply be that the owners have created a truly personal, unique and relaxed space with a lovely romantic touch. Either way, I absolutely love this home!

Could you imagine living here?

Get the look: kitchen - cube illusion tiles in grey look similar, Vitra hang-it-all,  Tom Dixon Etch light, source beautiful vintage mirrors here, I love these vintage Thonet chairs similar to the ones seen in the dining area. Sitting room - vintage string shelving, find a similar macrame wall hanging here, seagrass basketBedroom: Linen bedding. William Morris wallpaper.

You can see more pictures of this lovely space here. It's also worth putting your feet up and browsing Cattis' blog which often features lovely snapshots of family life within the home.

Have a lovely day!

A calm Swedish space in neutrals and a beautiful wood floor

Hello! I have to say I'm having a quite a few wifi issues here in the rather beautiful and exotic colonial town of Galle, Sri Lanka. It's amazing how frustrating it can be to have intermittent wifi, but I'm trying to convince myself that it's a great thing that I've found a little corner of the world where I can be disconnected for days at a time too! I'm soldiering on regardless and heading (virtually) to a city today where wifi is no doubt working like a dream - and this lovely home in Gothenburg, Sweden. I love the neutral tones - the copper, wood, rattan and cognac against the fresh white - and that beautiful original wood floor. What a calm space?

Entrance. Found via Coterie with thanks.

What a lovely space! I think I could go home to this pad everyday, how about you?!

Get the look: Ant chair, vintage chopping boards, linen bedding (I was so happy to hear the linen bedding I've been recommending has been a hit by several readers!). Could the print above the bed be from Love Warriors of Sweden? I have a feeling the hexigon mirrors are by IKEA, please correct me if I'm wrong!

Other spaces with a lovely neutral colour theme include this fabulous home in the LA Hills and a stunning Swedish apartment.

Have a lovely day!

PS I'm going to do my best to continue posting this week but I apologise in advance if I can't publish or posts suddenly ping in att odd hours of the day!

PPS So excited to see a great review of my book at The lifestyle Editor and they're offering the chance to win a copy over on instagram too! And thank you so much to Andrea for this lovely review too!

The lovely Swedish home of Johanna Bradford

Swedish interior stylist Johanna Bradford used to blog over at lovely life before moving on to new adventures with her wonderful blog. She recently welcomed her friend Kristin Lagerqvist into her home to take some snapshots. Kristin has a distinct signature style which is truly personal and unique, making you feel like you are in the home and looking at it with your own eyes. It helps that Johanna's home is truly relaxed and lovely too - with a blend of classic, contemporary and pretty patterns. Perfect home tour to celebrate the weekend, don't you agree?!

Photographer: Home owner Johanna Bradford. Photographer: Kristin Lagerqvist. Shared with kind permission.

What a charming home, don't you think?! You might recognise the style as I've featured not one, not two but three of her past apartments herehere and here.

Get the look: The kitchen has been painted in light grey no.17 by Farrow & Ball. Row of hooks, Marshall speakers, wine glass rack, willow wallpaper, source a similar beautiful boucherouite rug, macrame wall hanging, Le Grand Air sofa, Gubi coffee table, Private rug.

See more pictures of Johanna's charming home here.

Other Friday finds:

This Danish home belonging to Cille Grut is simply stunning!

How to perfect the minimalist look (Ok, really what caught my eye was the most beautiful dark blue sofa E.V.E.R).

Possibly the prettiest wardrobe for a little girls bedroom I've seen.

I was so happy to wake up to 30,000 followers on Instagram. It's fast becoming one of my favourite social medias (not to mention addictive!), thanks for making it so much fun!

Here's Friday night supper sorted, mmmm! And they had me at the 'alioli' with this recipe.

That's all from me folks, now if I can peel myself away from Ella here in Sri Lanka, we've got a train to catch!

Have a wonderful weekend!

PS This home is filed under my 'International Homes archive' - not that I want to wile away a morning for you.....but just saying

The dreamy white Swedish home of Kristin Sundberg

After a wonderful safari at Udawalawe national park, we're now in the beautiful hill country town of Ella (here on holiday in Sri Lanka). Hardly Scandi I know but you must check out 98 acres resort! We trekked passed it on our way up little Adam's peak and I was pretty much walking up backwards. Next time I come I know where I'm staying. Could you imagine?! Anyhow, back down to earth and time to crack on with today's home tour. This lovely, fresh Swedish home belongs to fashion and lifestyle blogger Kristin Sundberg. It's white, white, white with touches of black. Natural materials in the form of ceramic pots, sheepskin throws and seagrass baskets add warmth (love the rustic dining table). Let's take a look around....

Photography / styling: Kristin Sundberg, shared with kind permission. Found via Only Deco Love.

How about padding around here this weekend?!

Items I know and love: the Koushi knot lamp is similar,  Vintage 1970's Bertoia chairs, Le sac paper basket, 'My Guide to Paris' print, Girl print, Scarlett Johanson print, this (fab) vintage industrial task lamp is similar - if sold check out this page for others, Eames chairs, sheepskin throw, natural seagrass belly basket, charcoal washed linen bedding.

As you can imagine I've shown quite a few lovely monochrome / black and white homes here over the years. It must be one of my favourite looks!

Other Thursday finds:

This is where I'll be shopping for items for my home this weekend (in love with the vinyl record holder)!

How great are these shelves?

I'll be pinning these most stylish nooks of 2015 onto my nooks and daybed board!

While 2015 was all about the black leather sofa, 2016 is going vintage cognac (better snap up an original Danish one like this quickly!).

Have a lovely day!

PS The strangest thing happened yesterday - my Stolp farm post disappeared into thin air (thanks to everyone who alerted me to this!). Thankfully I managed to find it and re-post but I still have no idea what happened! Hope you enjoy it!

A lovely Swedish home with a mix of old and new

This morning I tiptoed out of our cabana before the rest of my family was awake to write a post. Normally I'm terrible in the mornings but, it seems when I have a fresh pot of coffee and this view waiting it's not so difficult after all (think I'm going to get a shock when I return to Sweden!). Speaking of the North, I couldn't resist sharing one more home tour from Carina Olander's fab photography portfolio (did you see yesterday's post?). This Funkis style home in Karlskoga belongs to Anna, Andreas and their children and is a stones throw from Möckelsjön lake, with it's sandy beaches and beautiful parkland.  The space has been simply decorated for a lovely relaxed vibe.

Photography: Carina Olander, shared with kind permission. Styling: Anna Truelsen / Hus o Hem.

I love the white and wood mix - beautiful!

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Get the look: New York 'my guide to manhatten' poster, Smeg fridge / freezer, Source a vintage Poul Henningsen PH5 pendant light here, classic Swedish brass candle holder from 1950's, dark blue linen bedding (this is so beautiful!), perspex storage boxes.

Other links I love today:

How about this dark green velvet sofa and some fab plants...?

4 charming children's rooms with a vintage look (that will fit with the rest if your home).

There's that black Mooi lamp again (also seen in yesterday's post) - we're starting to see more black Z1 pendant lights too, like the one in this fab dining room.

How appealing does this coffee and book in bed look right now?!

How pretty are these fox gloves against the blue?

Right, better go off and wake the crazies!

Have a lovely day!
