The creative studio of Katrin BĂ¥Ă¥th

Hello Monday! Back to work - woohoo. Or, perhaps not?!  Which is why I thought I'd kick off the working week with an uber cool studio! Katrin BĂ¥Ă¥th is a self confessed multi-tasker, describing herself as an 'art director, stylist, event coordinator, designer, creator and everything in between'.  She works out of her Jönköping studio in Sweden. And looking at how she has decorated the space tells us a lot about her sense of creativity and personal style,  I could work from here, how about you?!

I really love the neon lights. I'm often trying to think of somewhere I could install a set in my own home. Source individual neon letters to make up your own words here. I also love light boxes like this one (something for the entrance hall?!) or this one for the bedroom (sweet!).

Favourite office stationary and organisers of late (after all - it's all in the detail!): HAY scissorsnotebook and box set, Normann pocket organiser,

You can see Katrin's wonderful portfolio here and follow her latest work on her blog.

Other studios / ateliers I love include an Italian designer space and a relaxed art studio.

Have an inspiring start to the working week!

The fab industrial style atelier of a creative

Good morning! I do love the middle of the week, although I've got so much to left to do before the weekend. How about you?! Speaking of graft, I'm often thinking about how important my work environment is.  I'd absolutely love to sit in an uber cool creative studio.  This industrial style studio bathed in light, belongs to Sara Bergman, children's book illustrator and creative force behind online shop and interior styling company Love Warriors in Stockholm. Exposed brick work,  vintage industrial finds, concrete flooring and rustic wood  combine to make up a space a space in which Sara can create.

Could you work here? I most definitely could! What a space?

Interestingly while the space is teeming with vintage finds, the desk space is made up of a few pieces from IKEA including the ALEX draw unit and FORSĂ… desk light (which I also have in my home office). Etsy is one of my favourite sources for vintage industrial lighting (it's where I found my treasured scissor light). For pendant lights I like the black E27 suspension light from Muuto.

For more studio / office space inspiration I'm loving this, this and this one. Or if you have a small home office I love this work space of a Finnish blogger.

Before I shoot off I also wanted to introduce you to ReStyle Shop on Etsy. If you love Scandinavian mid-century or geometric prints you'll love this online shop selling art created by Czech Republic graphic designer Jan SkĂ¡celik. I especially love this one and this one.

I think it's definitely time for some Christmas inspiration tomorrow don't you? Pop back for some very cool Scandinavian inspired festive decorating ideas! See you then!

A beautiful Swedish home and creative studio.

I do love the home of an artist don't you? Their natural creativity nearly always shines through. Take this home and studio for example. It belongs to a friend of Swedish stylist and blogger Pella Hedeby (who is responsible for the styling on this shoot). According to Pella the home is even more beautiful, relaxed and comfortable in real life and constantly evolves with the seasons. What a lovely space don't you think?!

I love the vibe of this home, how about you?

To get the look pick-up some lovely linen cushions, search for easels, tables and vintage desk and ceiling lamps on Etsy, and source antique cutlery here.

If you have some time to kill over a coffee this weekend- there's home-tour after home-tour of Swedish country-style homes to be found here. And other fabulous homes photographed by Kristofer Johnsson here.

Before I head off to enjoy the weekend I also wanted to let you know that The Linen Works have just launched a new line of ultra soft Bamboo Linen bedding and to celebrate they're holding a give-away to win a set here, there are even 20 Japanese linen slippers up for grabs for the runners-up so it's well worth taking a few seconds to enter!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

A Dutch artist's atelier and home

From stormy Southern Sweden to a calm oasis in Laren, Holland. This artists atelier was built in 1913 and  has been converted into a beautiful apartment by owners Pam and artist AndrĂ© Wiegel (much of whose work you can see on the wall today). The large windows and North facing facade create the perfect light to work in. The dark wood floors and white walls are complimented by warm Turkish textiles and wooden furniture, books and vignettes. Such a lovely, homely space.

I could live and work here, could you?

The rug in this home is so beautiful I can't help think a long weekend in Istanbul is on the cards...

Other beautiful items? The dining chairs are awesome. The Tom Dixon pendant light always a favourite. I also like the touch of linen in the bathroom. How about you?

See other beautiful ateliers here.

Don't forget to enter the exciting give-away to win a Ferm Living Candleholder, still a few days left!

Have a lovely day!

A fresh work space in white and orange

Many of us spend so much time at work it's vital the environment around us is inspiring, creative and, well, keeps us sane! This collaborative work space in Brooklyn is super fresh in an all white pallet save for the flashes of red and orange in the seating and pictures on the wall.

The inspiring Atelier / summer cottage of Pepa Poch

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you've had a lovely weekend. Since I and much of Sweden (Scandinavia?) is currently in holiday mode I thought I'd get you in the mood too with this beautiful summer house on the Costa Brava. It also acts as atelier to the talented Catalan painter and creator Pepa Poch. How could you not be inspired in a space like this?!

I'm not sure which part of the home I love the most. Perhaps the bedroom with it's stunning vista? Or the pool? What about you?!

Before I rush off to enjoy the sunshine, I'm excited to announce a new my scandinavian home sponsor: AAVA Helsinki. AAVA Helsinki is a fresh new art gallery with a unique concept and clear mission: to build bridges between artists and art-loving audiences by bringing high quality oil and acrylic paintings to homes at an affordable price. Their unique 'Designed By' concept helps both artists and art lovers to break the age-old barrier surrounding traditional gallery art. What a great concept! Please join me in welcoming them and if you have the time check out their home page here
