A Fabulous Debut Collection from Nothern

There's a new collection in town. Oslo based Northern (formerly Northern Lighting) launched its new lifestyle brand at Stockholm Furniture Fair this week amidst a buzz off excitement. The collection includes a beautiful low slung seat, modular shelving, sofa and bar cabinet (now you're talking!) among other items, and is characterised by a "bold interpretation of classic forms and a determination to innovate with natural materials, each created with a blend of classic and edgy contemporary design". Here's a sneak peek...

Oj oj oj! What a fabulous debut collection?! I've got my eye on this very cool shelving / storage unit.

You can find out more about the pieces and where they're available here.

Oh and how about the colours in these shots?! Forest green, tangerine, blush.... I'm feeling inspired to get the paint brush out too, you?!

A Malmö home teeming with design classics

Some weeks I struggle to find beautiful Scandinavian inspired home tours to share. Other weeks they seem to fall into my lap. This week is definitely the latter - I'm so excited by the three posts I've shared already this week (here, here and here), do you find the same when you're blogging?! Today I've found another exciting space! This apartment is based here in Malmö, Sweden (who I might add, qualified for Champions League last night - amazing! Heja Malmö!). The space is teeming with real design classics (more of which below) and the pink peonies add just the right amount of colour to the otherwise monochrome space. Lovely!

So - the design classics I was talking about. I spy the Knoll Diamond arm chair, Eames DSW chairs and Tom Dixon Copper Shade light in the sitting room / dining area. By Lassen Kubus Bowl and Tom Ford coffee table book on the side table. Design House Stockholm Work Light and CH24 Wishbone chairs in the kitchen. Er, what else? Can you see anything I've missed?  Feel free to add anything you love in the comment section below!

For a beautiful vase I'm loving the Klong Ă„ng right now. It recently won best interior accessory in the Elle Decoration Swedish Design Awards 2014. It's top of my birthday wishlist!

Have a lovely day!

A fabulous Swedish apartment in Malmö

Hejsan, hejsan! I hope you had a fabulous weekend?! Have I got the most amazing home tour to share today!  Excitingly the apartment is for sale right here in Malmö, Sweden and situated on a lovely square in the town centre called Davidshallstorg (if you're visiting Malmö go there to enjoy vintage and quirky clothes boutiques, restaurant Mrs Brown and a short walk to one of my favourite haunts the Victoria picnic theatre). Every room in this spacious apartment is so fresh and light thanks to the white walls, high ceilings and double doors. The owners clearly have a fantastic sense of style too decorating the space with a perfect mix of designer pieces and high street finds. My Monday morning has just got infinitely better!

I spy: Kitchen: 7 series chairs, Tivoli radio, Rosendahl clock.  Rosendahl monkey. Children's bedroom: red bumling light, the Vitra Hang it All. Dining room: Eames DSW chairs, Kubus 4 candleholder. Sitting room: LCM chair,  what else, what else?...feel free to add anything in the comment section!!

Could you move in here?!

Have a wonderful Monday!

PS thank you to my uber stylish friend Malin for the tip on today's home tour!

A Scandinavian inspired Melbourne home

Is it just me or is Scandinavian design having a moment in Australia? The number of times a fabulous Australian home pops up on Pinterest right now is crazy! This contemporary  Melbourne apartment owned by Indian born Eddie Kaul and Richa Pant and designed by Hecker Guthrie  is a fine example of the clean, understated and elegant style and the way Scandinavian design furniture is sweeping through Australian homes. Since Hecker Guthrie's initial interior design, Richa has continued to to enhance the home and adding art by local artists such as Emily Ferretti. Spotted over at The Design Files (if you don't already follow this amazing blog you should!) and Dust Jacket (another great one!) and photographed by Eve Wilson, I couldn't imagine a finer home to celebrate Friday with you can you?!

So fabulous don't you think? Anything you love in particular?

The Design Files has also done a wonderful job of listing where you can find many of the items you see in the home.

More incredible Australian homes here, here and here.

What are you up this weekend? Anything fun? Decorating? Paddle boarding? Camping? Crayfish party?

It's my little girls' 6th birthday this weekend so we're gearing up for a birthday party and lots of celebrations! Exciting!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

PS I'm amazed I've got over 19,000 Facebook (disguised as a Tumblr) followers, thank you for following!

A Swedish home with one very cool sofa

This Swedish home is positively teeming with fab designer pieces from the Knoll Bertoia Diamond chair, Arne Jacobsen 7 chair and Hans Wegner Wishbone (or 'Y') chairs to the the oh so beautiful cognac coloured Charles le Corbusier LC3 sofa which serves as a very cool centre-piece. I also love how adding a simple bunch of peonies brightens up the entire space. I bought a pale pink bunch last week and they've put a smile on my face ever since (not to mention added a touch of spring to my vintage drinks trolley). Is there anything you love in particular about this home?

Two other very cool yet simple to update features include the bird light bulb cover and the beautiful linen bedding in soft grey and white.

I'm really excited to introduce a new sponsor today - Dorayaky sells beautifully crafted handbags by creative duo Aurora PĂ©rez and Fernando Albero. As a girl with simple taste I love the Nicole tote, but how cool are all their patterned totes and clutch bags?! I also love the MA-Z range for storage - perfect for a Scandinavian inspired home don't you think? For more inspiration and behind the scenes action check out the wonderful Dorayaky blog.

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!

A truly inspiring Swedish home in monochrome

I promised to come back after yesterday's 'party' with a fabulous home tour. And here it is! A beautiful monochrome Swedish space. I'm not sure if it's the white floor, the rustic touches or the blend of vintage and designer but I think this home is the perfect inspiration for the weekend, don't you?!

Shoot stylist: Jenny Hjalmarson Boldsen, Photography Hannah Lemholt (kind permission). For Elle. Via Coco Lapine.

Any rooms which inspire you in particular? I never thought I would but I love the big black rug (from here) in the bedroom!

Quick round up of other the items: Bertoia Diamond chair, Flos 265 wall light, Frama E27 pendant light, Clear storage boxes by Muji (these make amazing jewellery boxes too), Bertoia side chair , rug by Private 0204 and white linen bedding.

I hope you have a wonderful, inspiring weekend! See you Monday.
