A bohemian industrial style converted garage

Hej hej! I hope you had a lovely weekend? Stepping back in time for me today and transporting myself to Philadelphia (I once spent a year there as a student). I didn't stay in a wonderful place like this converted garage in Fishtown though. The owners Doub and John have worked wonders with it. I love the exposed brick and structural columns, the concrete sinks and vintage furniture. If only my student digs had been like this.....

Apartment Therapy
I love the way they have hung up pretty clothes in the bedroom, it makes it look so whimsical.

Have a lovely Monday!

A modern retreat in the Swiss Alpes

Hej hej! Sometimes, when it feels like winter is never going to end the only thing you can do is embrace it. And this is what I would do if I stayed at this chalet dug into the mountain side in Switzerland. Designed by Peter Zumthor of SeARCH and CMA it sleeps 9 and is completely heated by green energy from a local dam. Skiing anyone?!

There are plenty more of pictures here! Fantastic architecture and of course loving the concrete, the lighting and the funriture. But what do you think - could you stay here or would you prefer a more traditional alpine chalet?

And just before I head off - hello to all new lovely readers! Great to see you on here. I hope you feel inspired and will come back and visit soon! kram!

Parisian artist's home in a former button factory

It's Friiiiiiiday! YAY! And to celebrate I thought I'd post the beautiful home of stylist Virginie Denny and artist Alfonso Vallés. If you love Elle Decoration UK or are an avid interior design blog reader you'll have seen this home, in a former 1920's button factory, before. There's even a You Tube clip of it! But I just couldn't resist sharing the pictures again for the weekend! There are so many great colours, vintage finds and 'green' touches. A wonderful piece of art in itself!

There's an interesting piece in Pure Green Magazine, which focuses on how concrete flooring like this is actually very green. Check it out here! And see more pics of this beautiful parisian home here.
I hope you have a lovely weekend, any great plans?! Me, I'm off to a spa tonight with a friend - I love me a little luxury and pampering from time to time!

Lovely monochrome Oslo apartment with touches of concrete, black and wood

I promised myself there'd be no more white homes for a while. The problem is I just love them. So here's one more. Last one this week I promise! But this black and white Oslo home is rather beautiful don't you think?

It's interesting how they've placed the fridge partly in front of the blackboard, which you wouldn't necessarily think would work, but looks very cool. Ooooo and on a closer look the dining table is actually an old table with a glass surface. Now that's cool. So is the wood over the brick. And the concrete....aaaah, so many wonderful touches.

A rural retreat in Jutland, Denmark

Oj oj oj! (as they say in Sweden), what a retreat! This cosy yet minimal cottage is situated on the North coast of Jutland, Denmark.

Wow!

It's fascinating how the home-owners have made something that could appear cold and hard, warm and soft. Such as tolix chairs draped with sheep skin, or the sparse space with a concrete floor bordered by warm wood. Extremely tantilising and clever.

Penthouse apartment in Stockholm, yes please!

Happy Friday! And Oj oj oj, look at this beautiful Stockholm apartment. I love it because it has everything I love in a city home - wooden beams, a fireplace, concrete stairs, white walls and a wonderful roof top view. 'Underbara!'. And the good news? It's actually for sale through Fantastic Frank. Oh yeees. Mr Frank You've made my Friday, you really are fantastic!

Around the table I spy the Urban chair in white from IKEA. But where is the wonderful cluster light from? Any ideas?

Beautiful, white concrete stairs. Tick!

Fab two toned colour scheme :) and just look at that shiny gold lamp. Tick tick tick!

I'm just off to buy a lottery ticket... ha! But back in a little while once the dream cloud has dispersed into the Friday morning sky. Pop back and see me to dream over some wonderful ideas for the home on this lovely POETS (push off early tomorrow's saturday) day.

Concrete stairway to heaven

Happy Friday! Always a good day! When I saw these beautiful pics by Bruno Warion on Desire to Inspire I thought two things: wow and want those concrete stairs. A work of art! I also love the blue accent in the first pic so pretty against the brown and beiges.

What do you think?

I hardly got a wink of sleep last night as my littlest one decided to 'play' between 2am and 4am so I'm very *bleary eyed* this morning. Cue: XXXXL *latte*! But I'll be back in a tick with some inspiration on shopping for industrial....
