My dream boudoir!

Baths in the bedroom. Some people love them, some people loathe them. Which camp are you in? If you fall into the latter camp, perhaps this lovely bedroom in The Apartment by The Line in New York will change your mind? Captured by Katarina Matsson, this beautiful boudoir has me dreaming of transforming my bedroom and hanging out there all weekend pampering myself, and reading books and magazines (I'd just need to do away with my office space to make room for the bath - but hey, who needs work?!). Could you imagine hanging out here?!

Oh so wonderful! Could you imagine?!

You can see a full tour of The Apartment here - and if you're in New York, it's a concept store not to be missed! Find out more about opening times here.

Get the look: Flag halyard chair,  Flos floor lamp, source a Beni Ourain rug here, white linen duvet cover.

If you're not in New York anytime soon, there are a few other wonderful 'apartment' style concept stores dotted around including The Apartment, Copenhagen and The Loft in Holland. Such an inspiring way to shop, don't you think?!

I can't believe it's the weekend already - where did the time go? I'm certainly not complaining though - as my girls and I are busy packing for a long weekend in Mallorca to visit my sister and nieces. I'm already dreaming of a cool glass of sangria! How about you - any fun plans?

Have a fab one - and see you Monday!

PS If you have time this weekend you must check out Katarina's instagram feed - so inspiring!

The perfect space for a Sunday lie-in

Since Sunday is the perfect day for a lie-in I had to share this bedroom and bathroom from the weekend home of designer Kali Cavanagh featured in Inside Out Magazine. I could spend my whole day flitting between these two rooms. Or perhaps rolling out of bed and into the roll-top bath and back again! How about you?

A romantic old school bathroom with a modern twist

Last week I had a lovely comment from one of you asking to see more bathrooms and your wish is my command! This beautiful black and white bathroom was recently photographed by Skåne based Daniella Witte. It's the perfect mix of old school and modern day industrial with a hint of romantic. I love the retro black square pattern boarder used to break up the white. Such a lovely bathroom.

Your kind of bathroom? As I write this the snow is falling silently outside so I could definitely see myself lighting a few candles and having a soak with delicious smelling bubble bath in this tub (with the door closed naturally!).

I spy L:a Bruket products - trending in bathrooms across Scandinavia right now (wonderful products with beautiful packaging).

For more bathroom inspiration check out this calming all white bathroom, free-standing bath inspiration or even alfresco showers?! You might also want to check out my bathroom Pinterest board.

Are you a shower or a bath person? Oh and wet room or dry room?

Have a wonderful day!

Showering alfresco

What would an alfresco themed blog week be without a nod to the outdoor shower? I've always wanted one and have visions of going for a morning swim at the beach before padding back to my summer cottage through the dunes and showering away the salt water and sand in the garden. I'd then start preparing the long lunch with family and friends....carried away...me?!

Do you have an outdoor shower? And let's be realistic here.....would you use one if you did? I'd love to say I would, but I'd also like to be the type of girl who takes a morning dip in the sea no matter the weather......

My home: art in the bathroom

A quick hello from London! Since I am rushing around, I thought I'd share a couple of pictures from my home I took last week. Here are two snap shots from my bathroom. I've always loved art in the bathroom there's something so decedant about it. As bathroom's get a bit steamy I didn't want to ruin one of my favourite original prints so I took a photocopy of the original and hung it in a frame. Conniving or clever? I like to think the latter!

In case you're wondering, the shower curtain is Marimekko and the little bird mirror is from Graham and Green. What do you think about art in the bathroom - do or don't?

I know I've just shown my dining room, but I love this picture as my little four year chose the pink roses at the local flower market in Malmö and they made me smile all week.

Note: The cushions in the nook are Designers Guild.

Are you more fresh flowers or autumn leaves at this time of the year?

Have a lovely evening!

Calming all white bathroom

Hej hej! Just back in Sweden after a fab ski trip in Chamonix in the French Alpes! First things first, a relaxing bath over-flowing with luscious L'Occitane Lavender bubble bath :)

Sadly, i can't find the original source of this picture (I wish this was my bathroom but it isn't!). I found this image on Pinterest. Anyone know the original source?

I hope you've had a lovely 'Grand weekend!' Bisous!

Bath time!

With all the frenzied christmas shopping, decorating, baking etc behind us what we all need now is a little R & R (relaxation & recuperation) before the new year. And, seriously, I'm voting for one of these baths with a roaring fire to keep me cosy.

Bathroom / boudoir dark or light?

Now that the weather's so cold there's nothing like filling a deep bubble bath, and soaking with a book and a glass of wine and then swishing around in a dressing gown. The problem is do you go moody, dark and cocoon like, or pretty, bright and peachy? Here's a mix and match I put together to help decide the vibe!

Do you know what? Although I loooove the black and gold (and it is so very now), I think I lean towards the pretty, romantic white and peach. What about you? The dark or the light? Or perhaps something in between?
