The good news is, I have a lovely, calming Swedish home in Gothenburg to share with you. What first drew me in was the kitchen: the mix of warm wood cabinetry with that sleek chrome shelf above – such a distinct and striking combination I haven’t come across before, and bang on trend! But what really makes this space so inviting is the overall softness it radiates. From the fluffy textures and calming neutral tones to the gentle light filtering through sheer curtains, every corner feels thoughtfully designed yet wonderfully pared down. It’s the kind of home that whispers calm and comfort – exactly what we all need midweek.
Here’s to a soothing Wednesday, everyone – enjoy the tour!
I love the textured wall in the bedroom and all those layered, soft materials; they work so beautifully to soften the boxier lines of modern architecture, transforming the space into a true little oasis. It’s a look that feels both calming and inspiring – very much in line with the signature style of Emma Fisher, the talented designer behind this home and one of Gothenburg’s brilliant interior designers.
Did anything in this home catch your eye? Is this your kind of style? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
Happy mid-week friends!

Always nice to know you are back, Niki:) This home reminds me so much of your cabin. Must take a peek there soon.
ReplyDeleteThe bedroom caught my eye too. The color of the textured wall( similar to the kitchen countertop) goes perfectly with the wood color, and the lovely brown and black accents. Love chrome and stainless steel in the kitchen. Its not particularly great to look at, but so easy to clean and maintain, especially if you have a large family. Hope that's not a glass door to the bedroom:)
I was also wondering about the door between the dining area and the bedroom. I thought perhaps it was a screen door, but couldn't tell for sure from the photos. Some pretty bits and pieces: the picture above the table, the items on the chrome shelf and the bedside table which appears to be a slab of marble on a stack of old magazines!! I kind of love that!! Glad you have come home from happy family time. : > )
ReplyDeleteThe word “ethereal” comes to mind to describe this home. Sounds like a familiar word I may have used to describe other homes, but it feels appropriate here! Those herringbone patterned floors are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteDo you know where the wall-mounted lamp in the bedroom is from?
ReplyDeleteAnother calm yet inspiring view of a lovely home-thank you!
ReplyDeleteI recently spent some time in Copenhagen and as I walked to and from my rental apartment, I imagined that the apartments in the buildings around me looked exactly like the homes that you share. I've been a fan of your blog for some time and happily anticipate each entry!
So soothing! I really like the bedroom!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I wonder if Cornish pasties are similar to pasties in Michigan's upper peninsula? Meat, potato, rutabaga, carrots, cooked in a pastry shell and often topped with gravy? I think it was a traditional food for the men who mined for copper in the 1800s.
