Alla hjärtans dag - or Valentine's Day calls for something pink, don't you think? And you certainly won't need to look through rose tinted glasses to see the blush tones in this Swedish home!
Fear not though, 'sweet' and romantic it's not - but rather, it has a distinct contemporary vibe thanks to striped cushions with a zing of orange as well as notes of brown. Keep a look out for some very cool furniture in the shape of a Ekstrem chair - which we also saw in Julie's Danish home (featuring lots of pink too!), a playful mirror and some lovely lamps!
Elsewhere in the home, you'll see a soothing shade of green in the bedroom and a deep blue in the loo - all of which are designed to keep you guessing and make for a thoroughly interesting abode!
Such a cool apartment, and so different!

I have noticed lately that I prefer a mix of warm and cool tones in decorating, so while I think this is nicely done, I'd have to tone down the wall color. I like how they carried the checkerboard motif into both the bathroom and the bedroom.
ReplyDeleteIt's always important to know what makes you feel good in a home. I too love the check rug, it adds a cool modern touch to the space.
DeleteThe living room is a lovely hue and the lively pillows do keep the sweetness in check. For myself, I might consider a different rug. Though it’s lovely, a bit more tension might add another level of something interesting for the eye to land upon.

DeleteApologies for the delayed response, just now reviewing previous posts and saw your question. I think either patterned rug that includes a hue related to the sofa/wall and a deeper color, or a sculpted rug with lighter and darker sections in the same color family, but is overall lighter in color - if that makes sense. All about personal preference; I’m not a design expert in the least. Which is why I enjoy the work of designers, such as yourself🙂.
