I promised to stop by again today to share some more Scandinavian home inspiration - and here it is! A mini (37 meter square / 398 feet square) yet mighty space thanks to the beautiful neutral shades, sheer swathes of fabric and lovely natural light (notice the furniture with reflective surfaces and the mirrors which help to bounce the sunlight around). Nestled on the top floor of five, in my eyes the apartment is a perfect one room oasis high above the streets of Gothenburg. Oh and the floor is beautiful too! Enjoy!
What great inspiration for anyone looking to decorate an open-plan living room and bedroom - no easy task but I think these guys have nailed it. What do you think?
Storage is often a tricky one, and I went back through all the pictures to see what was included - aside from the kitchen, it appears the wardrobe in the corner of the living room serves as somewhere for clothes etc. I'd need to add a LOAD more closed storage though, how about you?!
More small space inspiration here!
Trevlig kväll!

breathtakingly beautiful. I do agree, more storage would be necessary.
ReplyDeleteHappy you think it's beautiful too!
DeleteI love this blog however, I don't think a pile of messed up blankets on a bed looks good. It looks like unwashed laundry. What is with people not making their beds that is considered esthetic? It's a silly trend the same way people arrange their books backwards on a shelf so you can't see their titles.
ReplyDeleteI hear you! It seems to be a 'thing' nowadays, particularly in Scandinavian style. I don't always make my bed and my room looks a mess! Sometimes I don't feel like disturbing my senior cat and pushing him off the bed ..... at least that's what I tell myself :)
DeleteThe other thing that I find a bit distracting in this room is the size of the light fixture in the living room - it's huge!
I do see your point! Personally I think it should be somewhere in between - neither super strictly made so that it looks like it's been ironed to the bed, nor like you've just got up. Relaxed, yet made up! :)
DeleteI agree, the floor is very wabi sabi. Perfect! But if this was the home of a couple, I think some screen/division between the bed and couch would be helpful. IF someone is napping, while the other reading on the couch, etc. there is very little visual or auditory privacy.
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestion. There are a load of beautiful screens out there right now too :)
DeleteI totally agree! A messy bed is just a messy bed! It just does not look good in my book. A realxed made up bed with linen that is a bit crumply looks nice I think, but not like this with all the bedding just in a messy pile. Wish I liked it, though, as I don't like making my bed... All in all not in love with this styling, too much messy fabric - the bedding, the blanket and cushions on the sofa, plus the curtains was just too much. And I think the lamp ruins the flow of the room. But, I love the use of the mirrored table as a night stand, it makes it almost invicible. And beatiful floors, stunning kakelugn, beautiful light. So good bones, just a little too messy styling for my taste. As for storage, I was also surprised to see no storage for towels etc in the bathroom. Hopefully there is external storage in the basement or something, though.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting to hear your thoughts Rita. Seems like the styling in this home has evoked a lot of emotions in people! I love the mirrored side table too, it's especially perfect for small spaces!
DeleteLovely space, but the unmade is so distracting and takes away the beauty of the rest of the apartment. Shame.
ReplyDeleteThat ought to have read ' unmade bed'!!
