The happy home of a Dutch family on a houseboat

Could you imagine living on a houseboat? When I discovered Annelies Dutch houseboat last year I've been dreaming about living on one ever since! And I still believe my Monday mornings would look a whole lot brighter in this family home - with it's light-filled rooms, fresh white and pops of sunny yellow (and breakfast on the deck - of course!)- how about you?!

What a lovely place - her little boy 'Mr Scott' must love living there!

A few items I know and love: eames chairs,  Amsterdam canal cushion from V@Amsterdam, cactus vases from Bloomingville.

Annelies is owner of by Norr and Holy Moly Kids and drives her own fab blog. You can also keep up to date with her lovely life afloat on instagram.

Other houseboat crushes - Bert's barge in London (available to rent - I know!) and a dream houseboat on lake Eildon.

Have a wonderful start to the week!

  1. I do love the clean white look, but to be honest it seems to feature in nearly every 'designer' house. I sometimes feel folk are playing too safe. I like to see interesting combinations of colour and textures. One of my favourite designers is Kit Kemp she does 'mix' extremely well.

    1. Hi Jean - thank you for taking your time to share your thoughts. I've just been in to check out Kit's work, it reminds me a lot of 'Designers Guild' and I see what you mean about the mix. 'White' homes will always have a special place in my heart since I like to keep things very simple at home with an emphasis on light, but I can certainly see the appeal of a home with ore pattern and colour too.

    2. I do love the airy and bright vibe of this interior. Yet, I agree with the first comment, i.e. to my taste it looks like a lot of other current, beautiful though, interiors. I prefer more mix. Yet, on the other side, Kit Kemp's style appears to me not enough airy. I know, I am difficult to satisfy, which means I am still searching my own style, which should look like none other. Your blog especially, and all the comments your posts bring give me much insight. Thanks for inspiring us so regularly and beautifully. PS Excuse my language mistakes, I'm French.

  2. I think your home is very beautiful, from the choice of furniture to little details on cushions, vases, art and I love the colours you have used. Gorgeous use of flowers also. I wish you a very happy life in your home.

    1. I wish it was my home - but sadly it's not - it belongs to a Dutch family. Hopefully they will read your lovely comment! :)
