Just when we thought house sale styling in Sweden had reached it's creative limits, along comes a new kid on the block - in the form of Stockholm based 1 Street, and the bar is raised yet another notch! We're talking steaming bowls of soup with freshly baked bread, seasonal vegetables and even an obedient (and extremely cute) doggy. If these aren't enough to persuade you however, this elegant Stockholm space also features high ceilings, dramatic dark walls, vintage and antique pieces, the odd designer item and quirky art. Be still my beating heart!
Wow! I understand dark interiors aren't for everyone, and I'm not sure I'd have all these dark walls in my own home but I can certainly appreciate them from afar - beautiful. What's your take?

Dark interiors looks beautiful, but I would never choose it for my apartment. For me light is essential but on the other hand I know some people who keep their curtains closed all time.. it is only matter of taste, really...)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that. I used to have one black wall in the bedroom and it zapped so much light. I guess the key is lots and lots of lighting to compensate. It looked beautiful though!

DeleteOnce again, I'm in love with what you've shared! I'm big on dark walls so this is right up my alley. But what I love most of all is the coziness of the kitchen. It feels so lived in and lovely and practical and functional. I'm so tired of our great big huge kitchens in the U.S. They all look alike and have very little personality. (Ok, I'm exaggerating when I say "all" but truly, the design you see most often here is big, white and all the same). Thanks for transporting me to another place this morning!

DeleteI love dark walls, but at the same time I'm addicted to light and airy spaces. The perfect solution is dark walls in the hallway, but keep the living room white. I love the contrast looking from one room to the other.
