Some homes are so striking they spread across the blogosphere like wildfire. This monochrome apartment currently for sale in Gothenburg is one of them. It's incredible how much warmth a touch of wood and patterned rugs can add to a black and white home.

What do you think?
I have black walls in the guest bedroom and in the kitchen but truth be told I'm a little tired of them now that it's summer and I'm thinking of changing them both to something lighter. What do you think?
Thank you all for entering the Fouta De Val give-away last week. I am very excited to announce the winner: Laura Gosselink. Congratulations, and good luck with your move to Sweden in three months time, we hope you like your Haidra in black / grey fouta!
Oh I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. All those intricate characterful details. And the black bedroom wall with the one portait on it is so striking. I'm really taken with that. I love your blackboard kitchen wall. Such a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteWow, lovely!
ReplyDeleteI would gladly move in to this gorgeous flat. I'm just thinking to repaint our raspberry pink bedroom wall ito a black one and I feel it's going to happen soon ;).
ReplyDeleteThis home is the realization of my dreams!

Es una casa fantástica y las molduras son espectaculares. Qué preciosidad!
ReplyDeleteBss
If I had to change to colour of a wall in our Chez-Nous-Nous (home sweet home if you prefer), I think I'd like to have it in pink (something like Pantone 17-1663 Bittersweet). But I don't want to change our Hell-White colour to anythingelse. Even if the colour is called Hell, our new home is a little bubble paradise !
ReplyDeleteThat kitchen is pretty much my dream kitchen, although I'd swap the counters/backsplash out for white marble. And if you want something lighter than black on your walls, consider gray! It's still not stark white, but it's not as dark and dreary as you'd expect either. My bedroom is a medium gray and I love love love it.
ReplyDeleteSo many elements to like in this home. The black accent wall in the bedroom is one, but also the gallery wall in the dining room and the Sputnik lamp beneath that ultra detailed ceiling medallion!
ReplyDeleteI don't really like most of the black and white monochromatic places (the ones without any colour) but, you are absolutely right, that touch of wood and pattern through carpets is wonderful here! I just love the kitchen and that last photo. Oh, that drawer cabinet is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi, it is very lovely apartment :), I love the kitchen and bedroom, they are fantastic, and what about your black walls?I want to have black walls in the kitchen, I love black walls so let them in your rooms :)It looks so fantastic :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous house! I think you should keep your black walls...but maybe you could add something that reminds you of summmer...a textile, or light?
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!! And that ceiling medallion is breathtaking!
