I always find it incredible just how many beautiful feeds there are on Instagram, don't you? One of my latest faves is Swedish lifestyle photographer Emily Slott - who shares the most beautiful images of her family and their home on Instagram and over on her blog at The Happy Hill (lovely name for a shop!). It's safe to say Emily has the most impeccable taste - plumping for simple earthy tones and soft, natural textures. Stonewashed linens, antique finds and in-season flowers play a central role in the happy and relaxed family home. Let's take a peek...

That light! - And just how pretty is the traditional children's bedroom?

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Get the look: dining room - Z1 pendant light, Bentwood chairs. Sitting room - Bemz sells linen slipcovers for IKEA sofas (see mine here!). Source similar stonewashed linen cushions / pillows here. Kitchen: POLPO book, L:A Bruket hand & body wash. Children's bedroom: bed canopy (how pretty is the 'powder' one?!),  origami mobile, Jute floor mat, chunky knit blanket.

PS I'm just packing for a three day Arctic sailing trip in Northern Norway with three girlfriends (including my sister Cas). Sooooo excited! Small space inspiration from a Swedish home

Why hello there! I hope you've had a great week? I've just arrived home, and it's sooooo nice to be back (take a sneak peak at the results of the project I've been working on this week here) - even if I am a little jet lagged! In my hazy state I stumbled across this little Swedish pad on Pinterest and it totally perked me up! I love how the small space has been laid out with a hallway, kitchen (how lovely are those cabinets?), dining area, and sitting room - such great inspiration for anyone looking to design in a tight spot!

The glass room divider is such a clever idea as it creates a separate zone for the entrance, without losing any light - perfect! I also love how the kitchen goes right the way along the back wall (it helps that it's the nicest kitchen E.V.E.R too, what do you say?!). 

Is there anything you love in particular about this home?

A couple of items I know and love  - I think these are IKEA kitchen cabinets - am I right? Bistro chairs, this table with a concrete surface is similar.

Since this weekend is fast becoming an official annual 'blog holiday' in the calendar, I'm following suit and taking a little time off to recover from my trip and hang out with my (neglected!) family.

Workspace envy: Studio Slow

Gooood morning! I'm flying back to Sweden today after an incredible few days on set in Upstate New York. I'm so happy with the results (you can catch a glimpse of it here). All will be revealed soon - I hope you like the space as much as Emily and I do!). Tomorrow I'll be back in the office again, but I've been thinking perhaps it's time to get a studio in town - what do you say? I'm kind of thinking something like this incredible work space of Slow Studio in The Netherlands (hey, a girl can dream right?!). We've seen this space before, but being designers extraordinaire that they are, it's constantly evolving. It's where the talented Studio Slow team work to develop interior design, styling and graphic design concepts - and turn visions into reality with a strong sense of sustainability - love that! Let's take a little peek....

Interior design / work space: Studio Slow. 

Could you imagine working here? It certainly gives 'open-plan office' a whole new name!

How I'd get the look in my new studio (stil dreaming....): Z1 pendant light (it's no secret that I loooove this light - as you can see from this and this post of my home!), yards of grey linen (beautiful!), lampe gras wall sconce, old dutch teapot, Eames lounge chair and ottoman, Lisabo side table.

My workspace envy also includes the creative space of Katrin Bååth, Avenue Design Studio's converted loft and Studio Hear Hear. Don't get me wrong, I love my little home office, but it would be fun to have somewhere fabulous to go each day and be able to chat to other creatives! Don't you agree? Any tips Malmö friends?!

A beautiful Gothenburg space in white and brown

Is there an exact piece of furniture you've been hunting down for years but never quite found?! I can't tell you how long I've been looking for a beautiful farmhouse table. You know the one. Rustic, beautiful grains. The type of table where every nick and scratch tells a story. Admittedly the table in my dining area does have my daughter's names etched on it in biro, but this doesn't really count, does it?! What I'd love is a table top like the one in this lovely Stockholm apartment (could it be a re-purposed door?). Actually, could I'd take the entire apartment to go with it?! I mean, isn't it beautiful? The large, spacious rooms, double doors, traditional masonry oven, all that light! And then they've gone and decorated it in white, muted browns and just a hint of black and tarnished brass. Could you imagine living here?

It's the final day of filming here in the Hudson Valley - three long, but amazing days. I can't wait to show you the project!  I'll be sad to leave tomorrow morning but so looking forward to seeing the man an my girls!
