An elegant Stockholm pad with fab windows

It's the weekend! Yay! I actually thought it'd never arrive as my family have all been sick. Poor things! I'm also a bit worried as we have a 7 hour flight on Sunday and I've yet to catch the horrible bug eeeeek. To say I've washed my hands to obsessive levels over the last 24 hours would be an understatement!! I'm also camping out at a coffee shop by the sea to work (under the advice of my doctor sister - if you say so Cas)! On a brighter note,  having blogged about Scandinavian homes for over four years I've started to recognise the photographer before I've even seen the credits. One Swedish photographer with a particularly strong signature style is the talented Kristofer Johnson. You may remember this and this home he captured recently. And now he's back with an equally elegant space in Stockholm. The home belongs to photographer / blogger Louise Ljungberg and has been decorated throughout with that fab mix of grey, green and blue.  I particularly love the sofas and the wonderful windows between the kitchen and bedroom. Let's take a tour...

Everything about this space is just so calm and the large arched windows are beautiful! I also love the shelves across the windows in the kitchen - very clever (do you remember the window shelves in this Australian beach house too?).

Oh how I could camp out here for the weekend, how about you?!

A fab Swedish small space with different 'zones'

Often one room apartments are decorated with the same scheme throughout - i.e. white walls and then touches of an accent colour - which is a great way of creating a cohesive space. But, as this fabulous studio apartment in Gothenburg shows, it's also great to mark out particular zones. Here, I absolutely love the cosy, cocoon effect of a dark wall in the bedroom area, and likewise the dining area is lovely and bright. Such a clever design for a small space, don't you think?

Get the look: Thonet side chair, this is a great source for prints, charcoal linen bedding, TURBO clothes rail. Try the Farrow & Ball dark range for a similar paint colour.

A calm white and blue 'oasis' in Malmö, Sweden

Hello! I had such a wonderful evening last night to celebrate the launch of my book (feeling it a little today though I have to admit!). I'm nipping in to share a super fresh home here in Malmö,  which is currently for sale through Bjurfors, one of Sweden's largest and oldest estate agents. Bjurfors sold our first flat here in Malmö, and I have to say, they were amazing, I can highly recommend their services! The space has been decorated throughout in fresh white and touches of blue and looks so calm and relaxed. I'd love to be padding around here, I think it'd clear my head in an instant, don't you?!

It's actually located high up in the eaves above one of Malmö's lovely main shopping streets - a little oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle. Perfect!

From light to dark in a Swedish sitting room

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend? My family and I took to the slopes at a small tree-lined ski resort here in Southern Sweden called Isaberg Mountain Resort. It's amazing what a weekend get-away can do to revive the senses?! Anyway, on with the Monday morning home tour. Today I thought we'd peak into the lovely home of Anna-Malin who captures corners for her fab blog Helt-Enkelt. With the dark expression slowly sneaking into homes I think it's so interesting to see what a difference a dark sofa cover can make to a white room. Here's the before and after....

Such a nice home - and admittedly hard to look passed the amazing coffee table. But, which look did you prefer, the dark or the light? Tough one.

Get the look: Sofa cover, candle-holders from IKEA. Source a similar rustic / vintage coffee table on wheels here (this beautiful one is very similar). Flos 265 light. I love the idea of a rustic bench behind the sofa - not only does it break up the back of the piece but it also serves as a great place for magazines. Look out for similar rustic benches here. Super soft and fluffy Sheepskin throw.

I once showed Anna-Malin's lovely sitting room decorated for Christmas - so cosy?!

More spaces with a vintage / rustic touch include Line's Norwegian home and an industrial-style atelier (there's that coffee table again).
