Cottage with a modern twist in Landskrona

A Swedish psychologist told me that 40 years ago parents were giving their children names which would help them fit in. Today Swedish children's names are chosen to stand out. When I saw this home in the old quarter of Landskrona here in Southern Sweden it made me think of this. Stockholm architects Elding Oscarson have transformed this town house from a cottage to a 21st century home which certainly stands out from the crowd!

I absolutely love the interior which is designed around letting as much light in as possible with its large windows and open plan living. I especially love the window nook with cushions, the fab Scandinavian designer pieces, the mid century dining table and chairs and the nod to orange / apricot in every room.

Could you go for a 21st century facelift like this for your home and stand out from the rest?

PS thank you so much to my good friend Ullis for the tip, I hope your little one arrives soon :)

Black, white, grey and a touch of apricot

Thank you so much to all my lovely guest bloggers - how on earth am I going to follow such a great week of blogging?! I'm very weary having just stepped off a flight from Las Vegas where I've been for work (have you been there? if so what do you make of it?!) and now, back to reality! Before I head off for some much needed sleep I had to show you a few pics from the shiny new spring summer collection from Danish firm, Tine K Home. As usual their collection is absolutely lovely. I love the touches of apricot and dusty pink.

Guest post: La Maison D'Anna G

Hi, this is Anna from La Maison d'Anna G., a French-English blog and webshop dedicated to Scandinavian design and interior decorating. As I normally only show Scandinavian interiors on my own blog, I thought I'd take this opportunity to go outside Scandinavia for a change!

I've visited Brussels many times, as my parents used to live in Belgium some years back, but I haven't yet had the opportunity to enjoy the place where I'm taking you today. ICI is a "canteen" restaurant that was opened only months ago by Marine Gobled and Saskia Félix. I've been following Marine's blog Studio Nord for quite some time and have always admired her beautiful photos. I really like what I see from ICI too: laid back atmoshpere, cool interiors and fresh food... definitely on my list of places to go for a breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea the next time I'm in Brussels. I hope it inspires you as well!

I wish you all a wonderful day and thanks Niki for having me!
