A brick house in Skåne, Sweden

Things are starting to wind down here a little now, pheweee! What a week! And today's actually a public holiday in Sweden, hurray! So I'm going to leave you with a lovely Swedish brick house from here in the Southern most county, Skåne which I spotted over at one of my favourite interior blogs La Maison D'Anna G. The home-owners have used a great mix of furniture from flea market finds, to designer items such as string shelves and svenskt tenn fabric and the Swedish staple, IKEA

What do you think? D'you like the mix? It would be fun to hear your thoughts as this style is all too familiar to me.

Since it's a holiday here I'm off to spend a little time with my girls and man! I hope you have a lovely weekend! See you Monday! x

Scandinavian meets parisian in Malmö

It's just incredible how homes like this can just 'pop-up' at the estate agents here in Sweden, but they do!! Ok, this one has actually featured in Residence. But still! The structural bones themselves are stunning enough on their own, and then the owner, Nina Bergsten, obviously knows a good thing or two about interior design....

Bo-laget via do you fancy this?
I love the mix of light and airy, minimalist scandinavian style combined with a touch of Parisian glamour. The pastels with the gold. Perfection. I'm not sure what else to say, except where do I sign and does the furniture come with it?!!! Thank you to the wonderful blog do you fancy this? for the tip.

PS if you click through to Residence and 'google translate' you can read the whole article and get some great tips on where Nina found some of the furniture.....

Have a lovely day!

Modern industrial style rebuilt farm house

'Monday Monday, so good to me, Monday Monday, it was all I hoped it would be..........'Actually in this instance the Mamas and Papas were right. Today is a very good day. The sun's shining, there's a light breeze, I'm wearing bright cherry red trousers with a very nautical top. And I've an industrial-modern style re-built farmhouse to share with you. It seems farm buildings are the home du jour what with the beautiful Finnish style barn I featured last week. This time it's Belk Farm, a rebuilt farmhouse by a lake in Chester, South Carolina. I love the industrial modern look with a hint of rustic. Very cool.

What do you reckon? Any favourite room / feature? Personally I love the bathroom with the great cow prints. Spot any more cows anywhere (cream bun time)?!

I also love the chairs all lined up along the veranda ready for someone to sit and admire the view across the lake. Infact I must add this to my 'perfect patio' Pinterest board....then all I need is a lake. Umm.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

A cool swedish guesthouse in Amsterdam

It's LE WEEKEND!!!! HOOOORAY! If you fancy a last minute mini-break you could do better than to pack your bags and book a couple of nights at Maison Rika in Amsterdam. The brainchild of Swedish stylist-turned-desginer Ulrika Lundgren, Maison Rika is a beautiful monochrome style guest house and small gallery space / showroom for Lundgren's work. Thanks to the wonderful April and May blog for the inspiration!.....

In some of the pics, such as the stairwell you can spot a star, which is very much the 'vintage hollywood meets contemporary rock'n roll' Rika label trademark.

I am pretty sure I'd enjoy a weekend surrounded by graphical prints and a beautiful mix of funriture. I might even pop into Amsterdam for a wander while I'm at it!! What d'ya reckon?

A Danish home in earthy hues

Wednesday is known as 'lilla lördag' (little Saturday) here in Sweden, because it's time to go out and have a little mid week party....or that's my interpretation at least, and I am sticking to it....I'm not sure if it's the same in Denmark though, but this home of Tine Havmöller and her family just North of Copenhagen, decorated in earthy tones and a beautiful light wood floor is definitely worth celebrating. PS spot the family rabbit. Altogether now...aaaaaaah!

I really love the last image of their garden. Couldn't you just slip under one of those fleece blankets and read a book in the spring sunshine right now?

Finnish style in the Hamptons

You can take a Finn out of Finland but there'll bring their fantastic finnish style with them. This is what Tiina Laakkonen did when she and her husband bought a series of old barns in the East Hamptons and pretty much re-built them from scratch with their own Scandinavian touch......

Pictures: Via T Magazine
There's a great article about this home in T magazine here.

I am a happy bunny at the moment as I have a whole pile of great interior inspiration magazines to flip through thanks to my trip to London. Top of the pile are the latest issues of Elle Decoration UK and Living Etc. Would love to hear any glossy interior tips from your country....?

Have a lovely day!
