The cool home of a Norwegian blogger

I follow a lot of blogs. I mean a lot of blogs. In fact you can see the list, which is as long as my arm, on my blogger profile (do you have any you can add to this?). I have a special weakness for Finnish and Norwegian interior blogs. One of which is designlykke- do you know this Norwegian interior design blog? If not, it's definitely worth a look. Henrietta lives in Oslo with her husband, Sigmund and two little boys Kasper (4) and Oskar (2) in a beautiful home which she captures almost daily on her blog. Here's a sneak peek.

Stunning isn't it?! I especially love the art work, Anything stand out in particular to you?

You can see more pictures of Henrietta's home here

I've shown a few Norwegian blogger home tours here before, but in case you missed them it's worth taking a look at Elisabeth Heier's beautiful home and the fabulous walk in wardrobe  and home of Nina of Stylizimo blog.

I'm not sure if you've noticed my new 'product pick of the week' on the right. I never show product pictures in my posts (unless I'm holding a give-away) but wanted to showcase products I really love in some way. This week's choice is the yellow bagINbag by Finnish company Insjö. They are currently offering free shipping on all items from now until September 30th with the code IKIN. Good to know!

Have a lovely day!

The Copenhagen home of a Danish style icon

Hello Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend?! Today is a big day here - my littlest girl started school. I've never seen anyone look so big and yet so small,  I'm not actually sure who was more nervous me or her?!  Anyway, all was well and I'm feeling calmer now, so it's definitely time to get on with today's tour! This lovely home belongs to Pernille Teisbaek, stylist, co-founder and creative director at Social Zoo Direct and her boyfriend. When it comes to fashion Pernille is your girl (you only have to check out her instagram gallery to see this!). When you see her fab apartment, it's obvious her eye for style covers interiors too!  Pernille likes to mix and match - blending old and new pieces from different eras (she has a distinct penchant for brass/ gold too). The result is a unique space with a touch of glam - what a perfect space with which to kick off the week?!

What a great space - loving the palm trees!

Anything that catches your eye?

A few other items I love: Dining area: Series 7 chairs. Sitting room PK22 chairs, Nagel candle holders, this Beni Ourain style rug is similar.  Bedroom light grey linen bedding, knit blanket, bedside table from Piet Hein Eek. Linen cushion covers from H&M Home.

For more pictures and the full write-up visit Elle Decoration Sweden.

I love the way Ditte captured this home - do you remember her own space which I showed a few weeks ago?! Beautiful!

Have a great start to the week! Back tomorrow with another home tour which I think you're going to like.....see you then!

A serene norwegian space for the weekend

It's the weekend - woooop! Any great plans? To me weekends are for kicking back and getting away from it all (OK, and the odd glass of wine). And I'm sure I could do both of these in this beautiful Norwegian space, given the chance! Looking out over a Norwegian fjord, Hilde and Kristian Eriksen designed the home from scratch and decorated the interior in white, shades of grey and warm light wood. The furniture is a mix of modern design and antiques.  And the result is a serene, warm, light-filled home. Oh how I would love to spend my weekend here, how about you?!

Anything that stands out to you?

A few items I know and love: Vitra Hang it All, Eames DSR chairs, Wishbone CH24 chair. I usually buy my market basket bags when I visit my sister in Mallorca but you can also source them here.

For more Norwegian inspiration this weekend there are many wonderful spaces to be found here. And a couple of Norwegian blogs to browse: Fjeldborg, Stylizimo, and Elisabeth Heier.

Have you ever visited Norway? I've been to Bergen and Oslo. But I dream about going hut to hut hiking in the Norwegian wilderness one day too.

Have a great couple of days and see you Monday!

A light and airy Danish home inspiration with natural touches

Hello! My girls were so excited to wake up to a fresh layer of snow this morning. They were outside with their toboggans before I was even dressed! And the sun's shining too - yay! Before I head out to join them and their little rosy cheeks I wanted to share these lovely images by Danish brand Hübsch. The different spaces show off elements of the collection. Think natural materials such as rattan, sea grass and bamboo, soft cotton and pretty ceramics. Oh to have high ceilings and bay windows. Plus I've got my eye on that daybed....

Photos:Hübsch Found via House of C with thanks.

So pretty! The throws and cushions look so lovely and soft don't you think?

Nearly all of the items you see here can be found through Hübsch stockists. However, I'm also loving this fabulous peacock chair (it's really similar to the one in my bedroom) these bamboo folding chairs and a soft grey herringbone throw.

I'm really not joking about the daybed. I've been toying with the idea of exchanging my bubble chair (seen behind my vintage drinks trolley in these pics) for a relaxed daybed (inspired by Elisabeth Heier's window nook here) - what do you think? Would I ever leave it?

Other Danish homes I love include the Copenhagen home of a typographer and a Danish home with a warm soul.

And what do you think of this fabulous cabin?! How I could see myself there right now, how about you?

Oh and exciting news! The pre-order system for my book Modern Pastoral is now live - so exciting! If you are interested in pre-ordering a copy through the My Scandinavian Home Bookshop please click the 'pre-order now' button in the top left of this blog page and follow the instructions. If you'd like a signed copy please send a mail to myscandinavianhome@gmail.com along with your order confirmation, I'd love to hear from you!

Right, off to enjoy the snow with my girls...have a lovely day!
