The dreamy home of Sara Medina Lind

Happy lillördag (or 'little Saturday'), definitely calls for one of these this evening - nothing complicated! Fancy joining me?! I once showed the home of half Swedish half Canarian photographer Sara Medina Lind here. And excitingly, today I stumbled on a treasure trove of more stunning pictures (including the last four images styled by Pella Hedeby for IKEA). Safe to say Sara's home is an exercise in restraint - decorated in fresh whites (save for the new dark grey bedroom wall), she's allowed only the most beautiful of details to enter the four walls. The result is positively dreamy. Let's take a tour...

All photography: Sara Medina Lind. Last four images styled by Pella Hedeby for IKEA and found here.

*sigh* - such a beautiful home - could you imagine living here?

A quick guide on where items are from: sofa (in Blekinge white), chaise lounges, RANARP wall lamp, black work lamp, these vintage artist paint brushes are similar as is this lovely vintage industrial style lamp. Dark grey linen bedding.

Try Farrow & Ball 'Railings' for a similar dark grey paint colour.

I know I don't even need to ask but you can see more pics of Sara's home and her photography work if you'd like over on her blog or instagram. Oh yes!

Other links I'm loving today:

Imagine hanging out at this Norwegian 'hytte' for a week or two?

How about these hues for a simply beautiful palette?

I've been looking for a set of champagne coupes (like the one shown in the link at the beginning of this post) for I don't know how long - it seems like this spot on Etsy is just the place (love this vintage set from the fifties).

Skål!

A serene white and grey Swedish apartment

An eye-watering start today with a train ride to the IKEA headquarters to view all their new products - always so exciting despite the red-eye train! They're doing great things at the mo (love the SINNERLIG collection and all the fab styling by Pella Hedeby including this DIY project I'm on it!). Since I'm back in Sweden I thought I'd also celebrate by showing a classic Swedish home tour with fresh white walls and light grey floors. The natural fibres such as rattan and wood add warmth to the look. Since the clocks have gone back and the light is starting to fade here in the North, light tones are helping to bounce around what little natural light we have - essential!

Lovely!

I love the fifties style kitchen counter top - the pattern is a design classic known as 'virrvarr' and was designed by a member of the Swedish family - Prince Sigvard Bernadotte. The 'boet' glass storage drawers are also an original from the same era - so fab!

I also spy: string shelves, vase with brass top, cluster light, children's brio oven and trolley.

Farrow & Ball's  'strong white' is a great very pale grey hue for floors.

Other homes with a fresh white and light grey colour palette include this serene swedish space, a cool Stockholm apartment and this dreamy flat.

Have a lovely day!

A fabulous home in Fontainebleau, France

Hello! It's Monday. It's November. I'm feeling the autumn inspiration, how about you?! It's great to be back after a wonderful week in London (I really missed My Scandinavian Home - is that weird?!). Although I must say, it's hard leaving London too - especially as my sister's expecting a baby anytime soon, so exciting! Do you have family in far away places too? Anyway, on with the home tour - and I thought I'd kick off the week with this rather fabulous 'maison' in Fontainebleau, France. I'm loving everything about the way Royal Roulotte have designed this space complete with monochrome and cognac colour theme, mid century geometric patterns and furniture, and vintage and antique touches - this home has it all!  Let's take a peek...

Home designed by Royal Roulotte. Found via DustJacket with thanks.

Oh la la! Think I might just move in if I may. That kitchen?!

Could you live here?

A quick guide on where to buy a few of the items: source mid-century furniture on Lauritz. Bert & May sells similar geometric tiles. Black fridge freezer by Smeg. Vitra RAR rocking chair (15% discount with code MYSCAN).

Other incredible French spaces include the home of French stylist (the black floor), the bohemian retreat of a fashion designer and a perfect Parisien home.

While in London I attended the Amara Interior Blog Awards and was incredibly honoured to be awarded 'highly commended' in the Best European Interiors Blog category! Thank you so much to everyone who voted for me, the judges, the category sponsor Missoni Home and of course luxury online homeware boutique Amara for a fab night!  I was so excited to meet so many talented bloggers, creatives and all round lovely people including Emily Quinton, Gudy Herder, and Natasha of CandyPop too.  Roll on IBA 2016!

I wasn't entirely off last week as I did do a little brainstorming - and I've got so many exciting plans for My Scandinavian Home this November - including a free gift for all of you (watch this space...), several gift guides (see how I avoided the C word there?! I'm not quite ready for it!) and fun give-aways. As well as lots and lots of fabulous Scandinavian inspired home tours of course. Eeee, can't wait!

Have a great start to the week!

Short holiday. And Amara Interior blog awards

A little note to say I'm on a little holiday in England this week with family and friends. I don't think I've had a day off all year so it will be lovely to kick back for a few days, switch off and take it easy. Although admittedly, it's soooo difficult to leave My Scandinavian Home for a few days...while I'm in London I'll also be heading to the Amara Interior Blog Awards,  so exciting! Thank you so much for voting for me, I am so happy to be shortlisted.

A cabin in the Lofoten islands, Norway @dudelum

Before I take off here are a few links from around the web I loved and though you might like too...

I can't stop eating chocolate right now - could it be the cold weather kicking in? My mind is on this completely and utterly chocolate to end all chocolate cake and this s'mores cutard cake mmmmmm!

The beautiful book 'we are freckled' is available for pre-order here (a definite addition to my autumn coffee table display!).

I'm on a constant hunt for the perfect rug and this pretty one from the Azilal region of Morocco is fab (find similar here).

This week I'm planning to put my laptop and phone aside, partly inspired by these intimate images  - pretty powerful and thought provoking, don't you think?

Speaking of switching off - have you been to Iceland? I went a few years ago and loved it. If (when!) I go again I'd like to stay here (the pool...!). Or this house with a sea view?

I'm also feeling inspired by instagram galleries Up knörth and Dudelum - the cabins and landscapes are a-ma-zing. I'd love to own my own cabin one day in the middle of nowhere like this one in Norway. *sigh* and relax! If this doesn't inspire you, these pictures of the Norwegian Lofoten islands might...infact I could go absolutely anywhere on my travel inspiration board. Do you have a favourite holiday /travel spot?

And finally - top five posts on my scandinavian home this month (in case you missed them): a Swedish apartment, an elegant home with touches of black and navy, a smart small space, a Finnish home in converted factory and a charming and relaxed Biarritz space. Did you have a favourite?

Have a wonderful week! And see you Monday!

The stunning monochrome home of a Swedish stylist

Hello Friday! Woohooo! It's soooo hectic around here, with just so much to do! I'll relax once it's all done and dusted and I'm sitting with one of these in my hand (love the blueberries on a stick, so simple to do too)?! How's your Friday bearing up?! Thankfully I've got a beautiful, serene home to share with you today to help us all wind down. It belongs to Swedish interior stylist and writer Jenny Hultgren who lives just outside Höganäs, not far from my parents-in-law on the Southwest coast of Sweden. Her home is a mix of designer, vintage and antique pieces and almost entirely decorated in black and white (with wood, textiles and plants used to add warmth). Let's take a look...

Jenny Hultgren - Bohemdeluxe shared with kind permission.

Oh how I'd love a home like this - beautiful spacious light-filled rooms, a 'spare' sitting room on the top floor....loving those black bannisters against a white backdrop - so dramatic!

It's amazing how much softness (and romance!) sheer white draping can add to a bedroom, the fabric over the bed looks like it's been strung from the ceiling in various places - nice and simple bedroom update / weekend DIY project?

Is there anything that stands out to you?

A note on where a few items are from: Tolix chairs, 265 Flos wall lamp, Beni Ourain rug. Get beautiful sofa covers for IKEA sofa's like this from BEMZ (select Basiq cotton, urban loose fit), Signal zig-zag floor lamp in black, white linen bedding, love this antique round wall mirror.

It's so worth checking out Jenny's instagram gallery for more inspiration...

And a little more monochrome inspiration here: the striking home of a swedish photographer,  a black and white apartment in Malmö and for a little added colour - this charming home!

Have a fab Friday!

PS Don't miss out on the reader offer to receive 15% off art at Citizen Atelier with code SCANDILOVE - offer ends on Sunday October 25th, 2015.
