A light and airy Finnish space

Looking through the pictures of this Finnish apartment is like taking a deep breath in, counting to three and a long exhale! The whites, light greys, and wood (love the white shelves against the light wood) create a calming, light and airy feel. I would need to add more rugs for the cosy factor (which I'm discovering are the hardest thing to buy - does anyone else find that?) but other than that I could totally spend a few days here, how about you?

The lovely new home of Elisabeth Heier

Hello and happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely (sunny?) weekend. Do you remember the home I showed a few weeks ago belonging to Norwegian blogger and photographer Elisabeth Heier? I was having a look through Elisabeth's lovely blog over the weekend and came across images of her new home. I can't believe how much she has done already, it's looking wonderful. And just how cute are her little ones?!

Elisabeth Heier

So light and lovely! I particularly love the concrete floor in the bathroom, the Ay Illuminate Z1 Cotton Lamp in the sitting room and the pigeon light in the children's bedroom, so cute! I've got the same tent for my girls which I found at Swedish shop Granit. I love the picture of her little ones and their outfits too. I'd definitely recommend Loja Dada my wonderful sponsor for similarly cool little outfits.

I hope you all have a lovely Monday.

PPS Is anyone else on Keep?! It's a little like Pinterest except you decide whether you 'keep' or 'buy' things. I joined yesterday and it's soooo addictive dangerous! I love it. You can find my keep handle here, do you have one?

The bohemian home of a Swedish clothes designer

Hello Friday! And what a beautiful sunny day it is here in Sweden too (what about where you are?). This is the lovely home of Lisa Marie Andersson the designer behind clothing label Up The Wooden Hills. Based in Gothernburg, Sweden, Lisa's design philosophy is clothes should be a way of feeling happy, beautiful and comfortable (I'm with are you?!) and as a result her label is dreamy, pretty and playful, just like her home.

Photography: Sofia Byström. Styling: Lisa Marie Andersson, Up The Wooden Hills with kind permission.

Lisa's clothes line is made from Liberty print which takes me back to my own childhood - My Mum often used to sew us dresses using Liberty print and my own little girls still wear them today! The pretty origami items you see in these pictures are also available in her shop. You might want to check out The Up The Wooden Hills blog too!

So any plans for the weekend? Here it's looking super sunny and warm so I'm planning on spending as much time outside as possible starting with some beach time: sand castles and ice lollys anyone?  I'm also getting my home ready for an (exciting) photo shoot next week so lots of decorating to do!! Lots of pictures and details to follow soon!

What about you?

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

A lovely 'lived in' apartment

My love affair with monochrome is no secret, even more so if it includes white floors or at least beautiful aged light wood floorboards (cue: The Reclaimed Flooring Co). Which is why I like this apartment currently for sale through Stadshem.. The space has been heavily staged but you can still see the personality of the owners shining through (they love music, monochrome, minalism and marmalade and orange juice for breakfast (perhaps)! All in all it has a lovely 'lived in' feel, just as a home should.

For more images check out the home here.

My mind is still on the lovely desk fan. Our bedroom us baking hot at night and we're in need of a fan, which has to not only keep me cool but look cool too naturally! I found some fab ones on Etsy here, here and here.

PS I received two prints in the post from Elina Dahl yesterday (remember her lovely home?). Not only were the prints (here and here) beautiful but the way they were packaged was too - thank you Elina!

A serene Swedish apartment

When I look at the home of one of Sweden's most renowned glass designers Ingegerd Råman, I think....'and breathe'. It's so clean, and uncluttered it makes me feel instantly calm and relaxed! If only my own home could look like this! The decor has been kept really simple with white, grey, and black hues while the wooden furniture adds warmth. Oh how I could spend a few days here padding around on my own...

What I love most about this apartment is how they have invested in a few key scandinavian design pieces such as the Thonet B9 and Artek K65 (15% discount with code MYSCAN), BestLite BL3 Floor Lamp, Louis Poulsen AJ Floor LampAJ Desk Lamp and the Butterfly Chair. Beautiful!

Could you see yourself padding around here?

A beautiful Malmö apartment

Hej hej! Finally back in Malmö! I thought it would be apt to show a beautiful apartment which was recently sold here in Malmö (Sweden's third largest, and incredibly talented city!). I know relatively little about the space, save for it was recently for sale (some lucky person is a new owner) and that it is impeccably styled!

Bjurfors via La Maison D'Anna G

I love the earthy colours through out and of course some of the design classics such as the Wishbone chairs currently on sale here) and String shelves, a firm favourite. The linen curtains add a romantic, summery feel don't you think? I've got really into linen since buying my white and pale grey bed linen from H&M home, it's perfect for warm summer nights and looks so pretty :)

What do you think, could you live here?

Lime green and blue in a Swedish apartment

Hi! How was your weekend?! We had our last weekend in London. On Saturday we spent the day in Holland Park where the girls watched the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland children's opera, it was so fantastic! And today, it's back to Southern Sweden and the last day of our holidays sniff sniff! But all is not lost as this lovely Swedish apartment has brightened up my day with it's lovely mid century furniture, vibrant lime greens and bright blues and it's only 53 metres square, how inspiring!

What do you make of the lime green / blue colour combination?

PS For Scandinavian mid century furniture try Lauritz auction house. The lovely wallpaper in the kitchen is by Svenskt Tenn

A Swedish cottage with a beautiful mix

It's Friday! Woohoo! To celebrate here's a truly inspiring cottage in Höganäs here in Skåne. I would love a home like this - it's got the perfect mix of orginal wood beams, whitewashed brick walls, industrial style lamps and furniture and a touch of shabby chic. The white floors on the upper level are the icing on the cake for me!

What do you think?

If you're ever in Southern Sweden, Höganäs in well worth a stop thanks to it's fantastic design shops - Lily & Oscar and Magasin 36 (which also does the best brunch ever!).

Have a wonderful weekend!

PS If you understand German and fancy a little read about design bloggers and their homes check out this article.....they've included my portrait picture and a few snaps of my home in the gallery too!!
