An artfully styled Stockholm pad

Scandinavian estate agents are setting the trend for estate agents around the world with their fab styling. One of my favourites is Fantastic Frank. Browsing through their website is like flipping through a copy of Elle Decoration! This Stockholm pad has been artfully styled for sale.

I love the plant in the final picture....trying to think where I could do the same in my own house!

What stands out to you?

A fresh work space in white and orange

Many of us spend so much time at work it's vital the environment around us is inspiring, creative and, well, keeps us sane! This collaborative work space in Brooklyn is super fresh in an all white pallet save for the flashes of red and orange in the seating and pictures on the wall.

I could work here could you?!

PS Anyone work in a collaborative workspace? I think they're a so great, I remember working from home once and by the end of the day I was climbing up the walls!

The Finnish treatment

This fantastic Finnish home was styled by the home owners in collaboration with Scandinavian Deko's editor-in-chief Ulla Koskinen for the Housing Fair Finland, set up to improve the quality of housing and living conditions in Finland. The space is defined by it's large open spaces, minimalist style, clean lines and the perfect balance of black, grey, white, wood and concrete. It is all very zen. I love it.

What do you think? Are you the minamlist, clean lines type of interior person or do you prefer to mess things up a little?

PS Slightly off topic, but since I'm in London this week......Congratulations to Kate and Wills on the arrival of a little boy! I wonder what his name will be? My money's on Alfred (Alfie), what about you?!

A weekend retreat in SkÄne

Hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! In Southern Sweden it's becoming increasingly popular/ trendy to  escape city apartments at weekends / in the summer to a 'kollonilott' (an allotment often with a small house). Seeing these pictures, it's a far cry from the small veggie patch allotment my parents had when I grew up (I remember hours of raking, digging and once trod on a slug bare foot....). This allotment site comes with a beautiful cottage owned by Emma Persson Lagerberg and is currently up for sale.

White, wood and greys in Stockholm

Earlier in the week I showed this home by Folkhem. And today I found another one by Folkhem I just had to share with you! With the weather so hot and humid in London today (I'm visiting friends and family :) this place is a cool oasis of calm.

Photographer: Henrik Bonnevier, Folkhem

I spy pieces from some of my favourite brands MuutoHay, and Thonet. I absolutely love the children's bedroom too, so cute. I'm planning on sourcing the Stacked Shelving System in white for my little girls room too.

What do you think of this space?

I hope you have some great plans lined up for the weekend?! I'm gearing up for my sisters engagement garden party tomorrow evening here in London, can't wait!

Have a lovely sunny couple of days and see you Monday.

Cool and contemporary in Chianti

Hello, London calling! I've popped home for a while to see family and friends and it's so lovely to be here (and HOT too!). This home in Chianti, Tuscany is a fascinating mix of rustic and contemporary. Designed by architects Ugo Dattilo, the home has been carefully renovated to restore original features such as beams and exposed stone walls while bringing it up to date with fab modern design pieces such as the Tom Dixon Beat Lights over the dining table and the Eero Aarnio Bubble Chair.

Such a fascinating mix of styles and just goes to show that you don't need to stick to the period of the home to decorate.

What are your thoughts? Would you go for a mix?

The home of an Australian stylist

Set on top of a hill in Brisbane, Australia, this beautiful home belongs to stylist Kara Rosenlund, her husband and flock of Pekin Bantam hens. Kara is a master at vintage finds which she then blends with contemporary pieces.  The space has such a summer time feel to it with it's soft hues, white pannelled walls and sunny veranda. Love this space!

I could live here, could you?!

I spotted a lot of beautiful round rugs like the one in the top picture on Etsy last night here.

This morning I'm preparing my home for  shoot. First stop IKEA! I do love a morning at IKEA, my Mum thinks I'm mad as the one in London is not really somwwhere you'd go to chill out.....but here in Southern Sweden it's totally different. I might just stop for a coffee and cinnamon bun in the cafe too!

Have a lovely day!

A breath of fresh air in Stockholm

This space in Stockholm by Folkhem is like a breath of fresh air. I love the light coloured wood together with the white and shades of grey.

Folkhem via A Merry Mishap blog
I love the Scandinavian furniture they've chosen including the fab Under the Bell Pendant light (last picture) and the Around Coffee Table, both by Muuto. Using a Vitra DCW chair (15% off with code MYSCAN) in the sitting room is never wrong either!

If it were my home I'd have to add a few more pieces and mess it all up a little but the bones are definitely there. What do you say?
