Scandinavia Meets The Med In A Beautiful Mallorcan Finca

Tjena! Hur är läget? Did you know that Swedes absolutely love the island of Mallorca in the Spanish Balearic Islands? They even have an affectionate nickname for it: 'Mallis'! This actually came as no surprise to me as, after all, we know Swedes have impeccable taste, and as a fellow fan of Mallorca (I've been going there for years since my sister lives there), I'm fully aware of just how beautiful the island is. Needless to say, I've featured several Scandinavians who have made Mallorca their home in the past - including the wonderful boho townhouse belonging to the founders of Dusty Deco. And today, I was excited to discover this beautiful finca belonging to Mercedes Lopez Coello

Mercedes and her husband Mads moved from Sweden to Mallorca with their dog, and settled in a finca in the hills of Moscari, in the North of the island. They have since had two sons - Oliver and Felix and today the family use this house as their holiday home, while living nearer to Palma. The wonderful finca is a place the family can come to in order to relax and reconnect with nature surrounded by the scent of bougainvillea, lavender and olive groves. Here are a few snapshots.

The finca has been decorated with a blend of pieces, including elements picked up in Sweden - against a backdrop of cool white.

Fruit likes this can be bought in one of the many Sunday markets across the island, along with olives and other delicious local produce.

I love this simple DIY idea!

Source a similar basket lamp here* to decorate.

I'd be quite happy to sit here and watch the sunset over the hills everyday, how about you?

How idyllic!

Talk about a Monday escape. It had me dreaming about a year in Mallorca - it would be so fun to live nearer my sister too!

Could you imagine kicking back here? Or perhaps you have your own 'smultronställe' - a special place you can relax and enjoy yourself surrounded by nature?

I also love these homes on Mallorca:

Wishing you all a wonderful start to the week!

Dream Bathroom: Nubes Collection by GSI Ceramica

MSH Partnership:
We've been living in our house for over twelve years now and never touched the bathroom. When we moved in, it had barely been used and decorated in a neutral palette so there was nothing to dislike about it. But that hasn't stopped me dreaming about transforming the space into something fabulous! And when news about the Nubes Collection from GSI Ceramica dropped into my mailbox, I knew this was it! The new collection launches in October and looks contemporary, light, and balanced -  and knowing the brand, will be an absolute dream to use. I love that GSI Ceramica prides itself on craftsmanship and using avant-garde technology with every piece made at the plant in Gallese in the region of Civita Castellana, Italy. Not only that, but the company works hard to minimise its impact on the environment, using renewable energy sources, recovering and reusing waste water and working hard to reduce heat dispersion. Ready to take a closer look?

The Nubes washbasins are recognised for their square shape and versatility (they can be mounted on the wall, a stand or shelves). I also love that the collection features different sizes, so you can find one to fit the smallest of bathrooms. Take a peek at the entire washbasin range here

The Nubes collection also includes two pairs of suspended wc / bidets and one floor standing pair - all of which are characterised by the same soft lines. I have to say, I've been tempted by a wall-hung loo for ages as they make a space look so clean and airy, and as with all the loos in the collection, the one above is equipped with the world's quietest Swirlflush® flushing system which ensures the highest level of hygiene (brilliant!). Combine this with the Extraglaze® Antibacterial ceramic finishing, and keeping them shiny and clean is a breeze (something I only dream of in a house with three kids!). Oh, and the lid is soft closing too. If only it could change the loo roll and I'd be the happiest Mum on earth!

Are you a bath or shower person? I grew up with baths and some of my strongest early childhood memories are of my sisters splashing about in a tub, water pouring over the side as we howled with laughter (my Mother, on the other hand was not so happy about the water dripping through the ceiling! Today, baths for me symbolise pure relaxation, and in winter time, a place to feel warm and luxurious. I was therefore thrilled to learn that the Nubes collection also includes a floor standing bathtub as well as a built-in option. And it's a beauty!

It looks like I need to speak to Per about renovating our bathroom... this collection is so tempting, don't you think?

Could you imagine this in your home?

Right, that's if from me. Finally Friday! Woohooo! Thank you so much for stopping by this week, I hope you've enjoyed the inspiration!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
