A romantic holiday home in the South of France

Hej hej! How was your weekend? It sort of went passed in a blur didn't it? Here in Sweden we're zooming towards the summer holidays and many children are breaking up this week (mine included). Aaagh! I'm nowhere near ready! Even so, I can't stop dreaming about the impending care-free days  and enjoying a slower pace. Plus, I have a long list of holiday homes up my sleeve. One such place is Cammellas Lloret. You may recognise this beautiful maison d'hôte in Carcassonne, South of France from this feature. Understandably, I couldn't resist sharing a few more snapshots of this beautiful space captured by Julie Pointer Adams. Could you imagine spending your holiday there too?!

Doesn't it look so romantic? Owners Annie and Colin Moore have done such a great job delicately restoring it. It remains as though it's been completely untouched by the hands of time. Beautiful

It's always great to get in touch with photographers and this time I was especially excited to see that the shutterbug behind these shots,  Julie Pointer Adams, has released a new book - Wabi-Sabi Welcome - learn to embrace the imperfect and entertain with throughtfulness and ease - definitely my type of entertaining,  I must get my hands on a copy right away! Does this appeal to you too?

Have a great start to the week!

A beautiful Swedish apartment in the attic

Tjohoo! I've got a feeling this is going to be a great weekend! Tomorrow I'm heading off on a road trip to Denmark with my Danish friend Daphne to shoot a wonderful home - so excited! I hope to be able to share it with you next week! Have you got any fun plans? Before we all get carried away by the fact that it's FRIDAY (woohoo!) I've got a really gem of a home to share with you. This lovely space is a lesson in creating a stunning light-filled home in the attic!  Measuring a mere 60 metres square (645 feet square)- what it lacks in size it makes up for in style. Look out for the clever space saving tricks such as the narrow table in the hallway, and the way they've used an open-plan design, dividing windows, white washed walls and light wood floors to lighten up the living space.

What a wonderful space, don't you think?

I love how the sofa is placed on the diagonal - something you don't always think about when planning a room (the desk in the Italian holiday home I featured yesterday was also placed in the same way - although there were a few fun comments here, asking why it wasn't facing out towards the fabulous view! I can't help thinking I'd only day-dream had it been facing outwards.Which way would you have it?).

Get the look: bedroom - source a beni ourain rug here, I love this lavender linen duvet cover, these wall lamps are similar. Dining area: the bowl is from the JASSA collection by IKEA.

Right, better get ready for that shoot tomorrow. Denmark here I come!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!
