Fabulous art from Citizen Atelier

I'm always on the look out for new and unique art for my walls which is why I was so excited to discover Citizen Atelier, an online art gallery that houses prints and paintings from around the world. The Atelier prides itself on being so much more than a gallery - it's a close-knit community that brings together artists and art lovers with one goal: to inspire with art.  Founded by Alessandra Salituri, and driven by the belief 'art gives breadth to a home and reflects what we love', Citizen Atelier curates a collection of one-of-a kind pieces. In addition, artists ship from their respective locations giving a wonderful personal touch. Excitingly,  Citizen Atelier is offering My Scandinavian Home readers 15% off sitewide until October 25th, 2015! Simply enter the code SCANDILOVE at checkout. Here are a few pics from the lookbook to help get you inspired...

All images from the Citizen Atelier Lookbook

Art in order of appearance: Banks by Ashley Woodson Bailey, Silver pheasant #4 by Sean Gallagher, Arquitectures by Antonio Mora, Misty forest and Waiting in the clouds by Michael Wou.

As you probably know, I absolutely love a seascape (I live by the sea and have sailed all my life), so I've got my eye on the photography by Gray Malin. Stephanie Vovas also has some fabulous '70's glam' pieces!

Is there anything that's caught your eye?

You can get more inspiration and keep up-to-date with the latest news from Citizen Atelier on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Have a lovely evening!

This post was sponsored by Citizen Atelier. However, all opinions are my own and I only ever work with brands and online shops I love and are a natural fit with My Scandinavian Home. Thank you for supporting the sponsors which make this blog possible.

My home: new Mapiful print

I love to be surrounded by meaningful prints (you only have to see the gallery in our sitting room). That's why I got totally over excited about Mapiful - a website allowing you to create your own map print featuring anywhere in the world. I tell you, it was difficult to tear me away!  I considered a few places such as the nostalgic London borough I grew up in, and the romantic Swedish west coast village where my Swedish husband and I met. But I finally settled on one of my favourite cities in the world - Copenhagen. The Mapiful print now takes pride of place in our open-plan living space...and serves as a great reminder that the fab danish capital is just a short hop over 'the bridge' or sail across the Öresund, waiting to be explored! Here are a few pics of my map....

So happy with it! What do you think?

If you fancy creating your own map print,  the wonderful guys at Mapiful are offering all My Scandinavian Home readers a 10 USD discount with the code 'SCANDHOME' (plus free shipping worldwide!).

Where would you choose?

Make sure you share a pic of your print on Instagram with the hashtag #mapiful, I'd love to see it!

A quick guide on where all the other items are from: personalised map print Mapiful /shorebird / Frame 20 box - By Lassen / mid-century drinks trolley - vintage / Guiana Chestnut plant / E27 suspension light / Hektar light / 'Coexistence' by Stephen Gill.

Have a fab weekend!

Bold and beautiful wall murals by Anewall

Hello there! I don't often post on weekends but after our discussion around Karen's home on Friday, I had to stop by and tell you about Anewall. Based in Vancouver, Canada, Anewall prints vintage art, iluustrations and photography and specialise in large prints including wall murals that are printed in house. I absolutely love their self adhesive banana leaf wallpaper, watercolour mural, and map of vancouver. All I need to do now is clear a large wall....

All photos: Anewall

I see they also offer a customised service - meaning you can turn your own photos, favourite quotes, or personal design into a wall decal. Oooo, interesting.

I was in a Danish home recently and they had a black and white wall mural of their three boys wading out to see - it was so personal and such a lovely way to bring a seascape inside, I've been thinking about it ever since.

Do you have a photo or design in mind?

The amazing guys at Anewall sponsored me to write this post - and for me it was a no brainer since I absolutely love what these guys are doing and really wanted to share their work with you! Thank you for supporting my sponsors who make this blog happen.

Happy weekend!

The happy home of a Dutch illustrator and ceramicist

I'm so excited to share the family home and studio of Dutch illustrator and ceramicist Nina Van de Goor with you today. This lovely space is a true, vibrant, happy home bursting with bright colours, bold patterns and fun around every corner. Nina's work, which is also about colour and a mix of vintage and new materials is evident on the walls and surfaces and adds to the playfulness of the creative space in Den Bosch, South Netherlands. Such a happy home, don't you think?

All photographs: Nina Van de Goor
Wow, I was smiling the entire way through the tour - I hope this home has brightened up your day and given you lots of inspiration too?!

Thank you so much to Nina for sending me over all these images. You can keep up to date with Nina's latest work on instagram and her blog.  Her wonderful ceramics and illustrations are available on Etsy.

More fab homes bursting with colour include this, this and this one. Love me a bit of colour today!

I landed in London last night to spend time with family over easter, so excited to be here! I'm going to have a mini break from posting tomorrow but I will be back on Friday and then again over the weekend with a fab easter give-away!

Have a lovely day and see you Friday!

The Stockholm home of a fashion stylist

One of my girls woke up with a sore throat today, poor thing.  She's on the sofa behind me watching 'fixa rummet' (a program about children's bedroom make-overs) - yes, it runs in the family! Meanwhile, over on this side of the room...I've got a fab home to share with you. Shot by Kristofer Johnsson and styled by Saša Antić, it belongs to Stockholm based Gorjan Lauseger, a fashion and advertising stylist who works with well known magazines from all over the world. In his bio his style is described as 'clean, classic and sophisticated but always with a modern eye'. I think his home truly reflects this too, don't you?

Photographer: Kristofer Johnsson. Stylist Saša Antić. Inspired by My Unfinished Home

The high ceilings, original period features, beautiful parquet flooring and the way the apartment has been furnished is indeed clean, classic and sophisticated. But what really stands out to me is the statement artwork.

A couple of items I know and love: Sitting room: Hektar floor lamp, Svenskt Tenn elefant cushions, Kate Moss book and Baxton Studio leather and chrome chairs. Kitchen: black and white Marimekko bowl, Thonet 214 chairs, Bedroom: classic white linen bedding, occasional LTR bedside table.

Is there anything you love about this space?

Some of my fave places to buy fab artwork for the home: The Poster ClubArtilleriet and Fotografiska. Plus more art photography inspiration here

Yesterday's Dutch cabin got me thinking about holiday plans (see my travel board!). I'm thinking Rock the Shack style rentals (inspiration on cabins, cocoons and hideouts) or glamping (again). If you're expecting visitors, I love this round-up of three very different ways to accommodate guests. Do you have any great plans for 2015? If you're thinking about visiting Southern Sweden drop me a mail, I might be able to help you find a holiday home on land or water!

 Have a lovely day!

Fabulous wall art inspiration

Today I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland for my sister's hen do. I love this city as it's also where I went to university a few years back. So much fun to be with the girls! I thought I'd stop in to share this wonderful summery image from Urban Outfitters and to wish you a very happy weekend!

More fabulous wall art inspiration here. And also I've hoarded images of all the wall spaces I love on this Pinterest board. Do you have any tips?

I hope you have a great couple of days! See you Monday with a home tour!

Saturday wall space inspiration

Hello Saturday. A rare weekend post from me! For some reason I was wide awake early this morning which was a real luxury as the house was so quiet! So I made myself a big cup of fresh coffee on the stove and had a little play on Pinterest (of course!). Here's my Saturday morning find. A very cool print by one of my favourite Swedish designers Therese Sennerholt.

Therese Sennerholt. Styling Josefin Hååg via Elin Strömberg

I have one of her limited edition prints in my sitting room and never tire of it. Do you have anything by her?

I recently came across this fab store The Print Atelier too which is great for photographic art. I'm on it!

Have a lovely weekend and see you Monday!

PS Don't forget to enter the give-away....

Garden art

Why restrict art to the indoors? (actually I can think of a few reasons....). I do love how this piece adds to the garden though, very cool!

Would you hang art in the garden?

Stockholm; white, grey and dusty pink

For sale right now in the beautiful, smart district of Östermalm in Stockholm is this light, bright and airy apartment decorated in white and grey with a dusty pink accent. I love how the wishbone chairs make a focal point.

Per Janssons Fastighetsförmedling via Do you fancy this

So envious of the all white floors. What would be your absolute dream floor?

I think the print in the kitchen is  by one of my favourite Swedish typographers, Therese Sennerholt however, I can't find it on her website - am I wrong (could I be...no way!? haha!). I am always on the look out for great black and white prints, a current favourite is this one

On the subject of black and white....don't forget to enter my give-away if you haven't already (sorry to bang on about this, I just don't want anyone to miss out!).
