Ray a drop of golden....orange juice

Nothing brightens up an apartment more than pops of bright colours against a white background. And if you don't have anything bright, here's a styling idea....orange juice! Genius!

Notice how I am starting to sneak in a few outdoor spaces into the posts too; if you're in the northern hemisphere and like me, the garden / balcony is becoming an important spring styling area so all inspiration is welcome (check out the use of rag rugs to add warmth to an outdoor space).

Alvhem Makleri

I spy: the ArchitectMade bird and Rosendahl monkey in the office. The fabric on the chair (these bold patterned armchairs seem to be popular at the moment, did you see the one in yesterday's post too?) is from Svenskt Tenn and Eames side chairs (15% off with code MYSCAN from Design Collectors). Find beautiful rag rugs here on Etsy.

Are there any quick and easy tips you can share for an outdoor space?

A Swedish apartment in pretty white, blue and cognac

Hello Friday! Yay! Here's a colour scheme I haven't seen in a while; (sky?) blue, white and cognac. It's such a pretty combination it's enough to make me want to re-think the colours I've chosen for my own home! I also love the shabby chic double doors, a nice break away from the otherwise pristine white Swedish apartment.

What do you think of this colour combination? (And what would you call the blue which runs throughout?).

So. It's nearly the weekend WOOHOO! Any plans? Apart from spending time with my family, I'm really hoping to get my hands on a Hay mirror and do a little bit of hall styling. They're quite tricky to get hold of in Sweden as there's such a long waiting list. Wish me luck!

Before I head for the weekend here are a few links for the weekend:

Last night there was a repeat of The Scandinavian House on Grand Designs. Architect Kathrine designed and built the home around her love of 50's Scandinavian furniture. I was mesmerised! See pictures of the home here and a short film about the architecture here.

For those of you who plan to sleep all weekend....here's some bedroom inspiration: http://bungalow5.dk/opdateret-sovevaerelse/

And finally, the latest edition of Lonny Mag is out- curl up, enjoy that morning coffee and read it here.

Have a wonderful weekend all!

My home: bedroom

Hello! I hope you had a lovely weekend, get up to anything fun?! Ours was completely jam packed with things but I think my favourite activity was taking my four year old horse riding out in anearby forest here in Skåne. I also got a round to taking a few pictures of our my new bedroom. We recently moved to the top floor and it's such a beautiful space, flooded with light. I still have lots to do but here are some snapshots!

My Scandinavian Home

The bedding (except for the bed spread) is Designers Guild. I made the dusty pink cushion out of a vintage style silk dress. The limited edition heart print was an engagement present and is by Pearl Wallin. The rustic side stools are from Lovely and Company. My gold heels are from Bianco and the industrial lamp is Hay. The brass bedside lamp was a vintage find. Hmmm, I think that's everything but I've missed something just give me a shout!

Here are a few tips on where things are from: the pendant light is the Maskros. I do love it but it's been up for a while so I'm thinking of changing to something else, any suggestions? I'm thinking about the bubble ball light. I also love the Vitra Potence lamp but perhaps this would be better in our sitting room.

Lots to do still but it's a start! :)

I hope you all have a lovely Monday!

A white Stockholm space

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend! Monday morning's are tough and it takes me ages to crank into action! To ease the pain here's a lovely white home in Stockholm for some Monday morning inspiration. It's been doing the blog rounds here and here but I thought I'd show a few other images for a different take on this lovely apartment. I absolutely love the shelving in the sitting room and the way they have displayed objects, in fact the use of wall space in general really stands out through out the home. And turning your spare room into a make-shift walk in wardrobe? Never wrong!

I wish I could have just one fairly bike in the hallway like they have, but right now we have a bike, a tricycle, a pram and two scooters. Not exactly the cool look I was after!! Someone once told me that making the entrance hall clear of clutter is the most important as it's the first impression a visitor gets of your home. Have you achieved this with your hallway?

Little ray of sunshine in Gothenburg

There are some apartments which feel like a little ray of sunshine. And this one in Gothenburg (currently for sale) is one of them. It looks so warm. I can just imagine sitting at the rustic kitchen table, in the leather armchair in the sitting room or cosying up in that bed. And don't get me started on the white floors and exposed brickwork.

Oh and, once again I spy a moodboard over the bed....current trend alert?

A black + white Danish power house

This Danish home by Norm Architects is incredible. Emma showed another angle earlier today on her wonderful blog and my ears pricked up when I heard there were more pictures to be seen! So, thanks to the helpful Norm Architects team just over the bridge, here is the home from a different angle. We've become used to white Scandinavian spaces (especially if you read my blog on a daily basis ha!) but there's something even starker and more powerful about this home and the way that the contrasting black furniture and accessories almost float in the space. A true work of art.

Spot the cute resident King Charles?!

There are so many fab designer pieces in this home so if you're wondering about any let me know. I'll no doubt list a few of them in my guest post for Design Collectors blog on Saturday too.

Have a very lovely and very happy Valentine's Day!
