Rustic / industrial Danish restaurant Höst

It's my husband's birthday next week so I've been doing some planning. Since he loves eating out, at least part of his present should be visiting a new restaurant. And with Copenhagen just over the Öresund bridge how could the the rustic / industrial Scandinavian restaurant Höst not be top of the list?! If you love interior blogs you'll have seen images of this before. But honestly? Höst was completed last year after a collaboration with the fab Norm Architects team (remember this monochrome home last week?!) and Danish designers Menu for Cofoco. And word on the street is that the food is equally sublime.

Table for two please. And it's more for him........honest :)

PS I hope he doesn't read today's post!

Old meets new in a Stockholm home

It's all happening in Södermalm, Stockholm this week. So if you're looking for somewhere to live, this area of Sweden's capital city's got the place! Following Tuesday's all white affair, this beautiful apartment (which I found via one of my blog favourites, La Maison D'Anna G) has a lovely relaxed old meets new feel with a touch of industrial / shabby.

So which style is more you - the fresh white or the relaxed old meets new?

Me? I'm definitely for a little mix of old and new, I love an old floor with history like the ones they sell at The Reclaimed Flooring Co and antique / vintage pieces which tell a story. Plus if you're a bit messy (like I am) it this tyle is much more forgiving!
PS Just a quick question before I leave, does your man / girl understand your love of Pinterest? My guy is finding it hard to grasp the context, or actually I think he gets it but doesn't actually get why. Oh how he's missing out!

Beautiful Italian designer's studio

As the new year rolls in and most of us have either started or just about to return to work, it's time to dream about beautiful work spaces. This artist's studio in Reggio Emilia, Italy is simply stunning and the perfect base for Secondalinea, an upcycling furniture design company owned by Giovanni Mazza and Francesca Dalla Costa. Would you call it work if you sat here everyday?

I am in love with every item in the entire studio, simply beautiful pieces! What about you?

Speaking of work I'm heading off for a few days next week but don't worry, I won't be leaving you high and dry - I've asked some fabulous Scandinavian bloggers to write guest posts while I'm away! First off is the talented Nina from Stylizimo blog on Monday.

Before I head off I've got some exciting news too, a new sponsor! A big warm welcome to Loja Dada, a fab online shop selling children's clothes with attitude for 0 to 6 year olds! If you get the chance pop by and check out their very cool shop (shhh - the sale starts Monday!).

Have a wonderful weekend all!

A Swedish summer home on Gotland

Morning! Me in a very wet London calling! Looking on the sunny side (te he) take a look at this beautiful home on Gotland, Sweden (check out other wonderful spaces on Gotland here). You may well have seen this oh so cool white space, photographed by Amelia, the blogger behind A Beautiful Living before with it's wood panelled walls, white floors, industrial and mid century scandinavian touches but it's always worth another look, especially if you're in need of summer cottage inspiration!

Despite the driving rain I've had such a great weekend in the Big Smoke. For anyone visiting London  you must visit the very cool new bar/eatery Evans & Peel Detective Agency in Earls Court.  Make sure you reserve a table well in advance though as it gets very booked up and it's soooo worth a visit!

Have a lovely start to the week and see you Wednesday!

A touch of Nordic, pattern and industrial

I found this wonderful apartment via one of my favourite blogs La Maison D'Anna G. It has been created by Linda Bergroth who is a Helsinki and Paris based designer. You can really see the Nordic influence in the outcome.

I absolutely LOVE the bathroom in the last picture; the mix of industrial lights, the mid-century dresser and geometric tiled floor is totally fab!

Eclectic, vintage inspired spaces in Scotland

Today is a good day. The sun is shining in Skåne. Hurray! And to celebrate I wanted to share theses beautiful eclectic, vintage inspired spaces styled by Rosie Brown, the Scottish co-owner of online boutique Papa Stour (love the name!) which sells the cream of Scottish contemporary crafts and design.

Any spaces you loved in particular?

I love the picture of the view looking out over the roof tops as it reminds me of my days at Edinburgh University. We always lived in top floor flats and after a long climb up a stony staircase we were rewarded with a beautiful view like this, and hopefully a cup of tea and a piece of toast like in the last picture! Thank you to blog SF Girl By Bay for the tip!

There's something about Australia this week...but here's yet another beautiful home. This time by interior designers Gardener & Marks who love to decorate quirky spaces with a vintage industrial edge. I love everything about this guest house, if i was a guest here I might never leave.....
